Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space. We invite you to come enjoy sunrises over the lake and sunsets across the field.
This is a great option for Notre Dame home games as the cottage is only 40 minutes from ND. It is also a short 15 minutes from Shipshewana and all the attractions there (MEC, Bluegate, and flea markets). The sweet town of Middlebury is also 10 minutes away which is where you can find the Das Dutchman Essen Haus and other Amish attractions.
The master bedroom includes one queen size bed and the second upstairs bedroom includes two full size beds as well as an air mattress as needed.
The kitchen is fully furnished and ready for you to make all your favorite meals. There is also an outdoor table and lots of outdoor seating.
The living room space has a large sectional that may sleep 2 people. Pillows and blankets are provided. There is also a TV in this space with Roku capability. The fireplace in this space is not currently available for use.
3 kayaks, a row boat, and a few yard games will be available upon arrival. Enjoy a picnic or gather around the fire pit in our spacious yard while taking in the lake breeze. This is one of the larger yards on the lake!
Our family with 4 children under age 8 had a wonderful few days at the cottage. The house was clean and tastefully decorated. We loved the small, sandy beach and how shallow the water was around the dock. This was perfect for our kids to play in the water and kayak around without worrying about it getting too deep for them. We all enjoyed fishing and caught plenty of bass from the kayaks and around the lake. The owners were very responsive when we had a need and kindly took care of things very quickly. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked again for later this summer.
The setting is rural and the lake view is good on a small lake. It is close to the toll road, which is convenient but audibly noticeable outdoors. We would stay again. The cottage is lovely and well-maintained.
The place was cozy and beautiful. Very clean with great amenities. Host was very responsive and everything went smoothly. It was nice and close to the Shipshewana flea market and was a welcome relaxing place to be after the hustle of the markets. We used the kayaks provided which was great but even without that option the view was amazing. The only downside side was 1 bathroom for 5 adults and 1 teen was a bit challenging but we worked it out and the bathroom provided is so big and roomy it really helped make up for that. Would definitely stay again.
My son and I stayed two nights during a Notre Dame football weekend and it was ideal. After the crowd and activity on campus, this was a perfect retreat. We were welcomed with a cute sign and tray of snacks! We didn't notice the sign for the wifi password, so we texted the owners who responded immediately. They were so kind and helpful. It's a charming place and the location is absolutely serene. Highly recommend a visit!
While visiting family in the area for Thanksgiving, we were looking for something different than a hotel stay. We found it on Fish Lake! The property was perfectly located for us and on a beautiful lake setting. We were able to enjoy the bonfire, the rowboat for a chilly fishing attempt and swan migration viewing.
The house was set up nicely for our family of four, but could easily fit more. My young boys enjoyed staying upstairs by themselves in beds of their own, while my husband and I appreciated the quiet of the main floor bedroom. The view from the living/dining/kitchen was amazing and I really enjoyed drinking my coffee and watching the sun come up.
Probably the best part of this property were the hosts. Tori was very quick to respond to any questions and added special touches specifically for our family (including snacks, firewood, having the rowboat ready with lifejackets and cornhole in the yard).
I would recommend this property to my family and friends.
