We had a great time at this cottage. It was very clean and the host communication was clear, timely and helpful. We also loved that we could bring our lab with us as this is a pet friendly location. The views and the spot on the lake are spectacular! Also loved that the cottage is a quick easy trip to St. Germain. We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the quietness - fall season is spectacular in the Northernwoods. Nice to be able to rent this quaint place during a season of great colors and fewer tourists post labor day.

The pier was very nice and had long poles to be able to tie up to and use as help to get in and out of our boat. The inside was nice and open with a great layout for the kitchen.

Cozy winter stay

Despite the extreme cold, we stayed warm and cozy at the Birchwood Retreat, which had everything we needed for our visit. The host communicated well and was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay at the property.

We really enjoyed our stay at the lake house. The setting was perfect - beautiful views and entertaining wildlife like eagles, deer, muskrats and raccoons. There was a slight snag but Marisa was excellent about communicating and very solution oriented. We would love to come back another time.

The cabin was so clean. We had such a great time. And the firewood that was available to us at no charge was incredibly thoughtful. Marisa was great to deal with. We would go back!

This cabin had everything we needed and more. It was extremely clean and decorated so cute. It was right on the lake. We had eagles, deer and loons visit us daily. We definitely want to return.

Christmas getaway

We wanted to do something different for Christmas this year so we decided to head to one of our favorite places, the Northwoods. The house was great for our group. Kitchen was well equipped for our Christmas dinner. Location is great for doing many other fun things.

Great fishing cabin

My husband and three boys stayed here and we brought up our fishing boat. They boys loved walking out to the pier and fishing. We had other family memebers staying at other cabins on the lake and we all rented pontoon boats and went to the sandbar to swim and fish. The grills were great for making lunch and dinner. The cabin was cozy and very clean. Overall a great cabin to rent for the week!

Peaceful and Cozy

My mom and I stayed here 05/29-06/01/2025. The dock and back deck were perfect for watching eagles, loons, mallards and their ducklings. It was clean, temperature control was a breeze and there was lots of room with two people. The property was convenient for travel to restaurants and shopping. It was a great starting point for a hike with the dog. Marisa was very helpful and easy to contact. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a ride pace outside of St. Germain!

Wonderful property and cabin, fully stocked kitchen with everything needed. Lots of games! Everything was comfortable and cozy and well decorated. I wouldn’t suggest planning to put an adult on the lower bunk mattress as the springs are pretty apparent, but our three year old slept just fine on it. We absolutely loved seeing all the wildlife around and watching the water from the front deck. Deer, herons, green frogs, muskrats, ducks and bunnies were just some of the wildlife we saw. Highly recommend!
