Welcome to The Shore House!

This historic home is located on beautiful Lake Erie in Huron, Ohio. It is the ONLY lake front home with a cozy outdoor front porch, a gas fire pit table and a large balcony to enjoy beautiful views; make lasting memories and sit back...relax! Morning coffee, afternoon lemonade and evening cocktails will never be the same! The view continues inside the home with a wide-open floor plan boasting large windows facing Lake Erie allowing lots of light to fill this home while everyone gathers to visit, play games or enjoy a celebration.

The Shore House has 4 bedrooms, a 3rd floor loft that coverts to a 5th bedroom with a low/slanted ceiling, 3 full bathrooms & 2 living/sitting areas! The living room connects to the kitchen and dining room where you'll have many conversations and activities. The family room is together with the gaming area which has a foosball table, games, beverage refrigerator, a high-top table with 2 chairs and a table with 4 chairs to use for laptops, games or an additional eating area. The kitchen is completely stocked with all of your needs. There are so many different spaces to spread out in this home, that you'll never feel crowded!

Additional amenities include smart TVs, gas grill, beach chairs, bikes, beach towels, a highchair and a pack & play! We have basketballs, cards, games & puzzles. You'll find a book niche where you can take a book, leave a book, relax & enjoy!

The PRIVATE neighborhood Rye Beach Park across the street has benches, picnic tables, grills, fire pit, playground, swimming beach area (where you can also launch your kayak), fishing, disc golf net & a basketball court!

The driveway has parking for 2 vehicles and a 3rd vehicle fits on the adjacent concrete parking pad. Additional temporary parking is available along the park in front of the house. Additional overnight parking is 1 block away on Lakewood Ave.

The Shore House is within walking distance to restaurants and stores. It's about a 10 to 15 minute drive to Cedar Point, Great Wolf Lodge & Kalahari Resort & Spa (indoor water parks), Goofy Golf (mini golf, go-karts, arcades), Sports Force Park (tournaments), Sheldon Marsh Nature Preserve (walking trial right to Lake Erie), The Huron Boat Basin Marina & Amphitheater (public boat launch), Andrew Fabens Park (baseball, tennis, pickleball), Nickel Plate Beach (sandy, beach volleyball, lighthouse view), Old Woman's Creek Nature Preserve & Estuary (hiking trails, Barrier Beach), and much more!

Also close by are many wineries, golf courses, farmers' markets, islands (Put in Bay, Kelly's & Middle Bass) and more!

Family gathering

Accurate description of house, well equipped for our Thanksgiving feast! We enjoyed the location to Lake Erie and proximity to playground, as well for grandkids. Would stay again!

Amazing Property

Great experience, the house is turn key and ready to go and when I say turn key this place has it all, if you are visiting just bring your food they have thought of everything. Huge props to the owners would recommend to anyone visiting the Sandusky area to book in here. You are only 15 minutes to Cedar Point so don't fret about being to far away.

We absolutely loved this property. Impressed with all the dishes and cooking pots and pans available to use. Beds were comfortable. Loved the Nautical decor. Our only issue was the weather was cool and damp, not a fault of the house at all. We will definitely consider this location when we vacation again.

Halloweekends!

We had a wonderful stay, Very beautiful historic home. The upgrades and views are absolutely stunning. Toiletries were fully stocked! we didn't even need to bring our own. Besides food You name it, Its there. Nice and spacious/cozy. The mattress on main floor could use an upgrade In size and comfort tho. Host was very pleasant to work with prompt. We spent time at Cedar Point and it was a nice quick beautiful ride along the coast

Great stay in Rye Beach!!!

The house on Shore Drive was perfect for us! We could easily get to the ferry for Put-in-Bay and to Cedar Point. Being right at the park, the little beach and the pier gave us plenty of space when we had downtime at the house. The house had all the amenities we could need and was comfortable for our group. It was really great!

Perfect for Cedar Point

This place had everything we needed for a family trip to Cedar Point. Located close to the park with a beautiful view of the lake. The kids loved the 3rd floor loft space.

Summer get-a-way

The house was large enough to accommodate all of us and we were very comfortable. It was a very nice home. The outside porch and upstairs porch had leaves, spiders, spiderwebs, and dirty seat cushions. We were unable to sit upstairs but we sat on the downstairs porch, but we had to make sure we weren't under a spiderweb. I would suggest maintaining the outside of the home too.

Great experience

Our time at Lake Erie was super fun. The bay is a little difficult to swim in as the ground is all rocks. But fun nonetheless. The broken pier was perfect for an afternoon of successful fishing. The home is cozy and has lots of extras, plenty of bath and beach towels, toys, and kitchen supplies. Washer and dryer were much appreciated! Host was so easy to call and text. One bike had flat tire, but 5 of us enjoyed a long bike ride. House temperature was easy to control. The deck was fun to explore. Porch overlooking the lake was beautiful. We enjoyed a fire (brought our own wood). Such a fun family location! The park right in front was quaint.

Amazing place

This house was amazing!!! The views were wonderful. I stay in a lot of places but this by far is the best, close proximity to Cedar Point made for an easy drive after a long day at the park. Inside the house was just as great. The hosts make sure you have everything you need for a stress free stay. I had 5 teenagers so you know they were going to forget something, no fear, the host had tooth brushes readily available. Games… playing cards… propane for the fire and grill…beach towels, literally EVERYTHING. Fully stocked seasoning cabinets?!?! Just amazing. Already recommended house to family and will most definitely be back.

We would prefer queen beds our 4 men were 6’2 and 6’4 and that was an issue. Had to use air bed

Great Location

There was plenty of space for our family and a nice location. It features exceptionally soft and comfortable beds, an extra towels, and a fully furnished kitchen. I would return to this place to stay.

Lovely home on Rye Beach

We were in town for NexStar dance National competition and chose this property due to its proximity to the Kalahari resort. The house had everything we needed and more. The beds were comfortable and the close Lake views were great. There is a bonus space on an upper level that was great for our girls to escape too. We would not hesitate to book this property again.

perfect location

a couple of things need repaired: the window and screen on lower front door kept falling out, from the first time we opened it. Great that all of the towels are provided, as well as a fully stocked kitchen. The house has lots of room, 3 bathrooms, lots of places for our family of 10 to go to. great location. front porch is great, but fire table did not work,

Very Accommodating

This house was perfect for our trip. We had 6 adults and 4 children and the house gave use plenty of room and sleeping options. Ruthann was more than helpful and got back VERY quick with any questions i had. The only downside is the parking, as it is limited but we made it work. Would recommend this house to any friend and if we are ever in the area again will definitely have this one on the top of my list.

Graduation Celebration

I have stayed at several properties in the past and this was one of my favorites. The house was well stocked and offered a lot of extras. I loved the front porch overlooking the lake. The neighbors were friendly and the location was perfect. We were very close to Cedar Point and many other restaurants and activities. The owners were very responsive and checked in to make sure we had everything that we needed.

Cute Beach House

Overall, a nice stay. Great location, nice porch and cute house. Was a little tight for 8 adults. The bunk beds were only rated for 150lbs, so we didnt feel comfortable using them. The queen bed in the loft was a broken air matress and not the most comfortable, but fine. Was nice to be so close to the park, with the water view. Would stay again, but with fewer than 8 adults.

Home with character

We really liked the house and its many features. It was so unique! The location was great. The whole family enjoyed the basketball court across the street and the park. They were a big hit! The only problem was the porch roof. We were there when there was a tornado warning and it really rained like crazy. We wanted to sot out on the porch but the roof leaked everywhere! I tried to dry the cushions but they were drenched. We barely sat on or used the porch. Otherwise we had a good time. Thank you for allowing us to use it.

This was our second stay at this house. We love it so much. So comfortable for our party of 12, so convenient to local attractions. Fishing and swimming without getting in the car!
