Hello! Our home is located in the historic, Austin neighborhood of Montopolis. Located about 5 miles from the capitol building, Montopolis has long been economically and socially neglected by the City of Austin. Despite this, it is a vibrant and eclectic community that is proudly distinct from the rest of the City. If you are someone who is going to be offended by the sight of a stray cat in the backyard, I would not suggest staying here.
Technically this is a 2 bedroom home but the second bedroom is set up as an office. We have a very comfortable, queen-sized air mattress that can be pumped up and placed in the office or living room. In our 20’s, we felt we could comfortably sleep a total of 5 (2 in bed, 2 on a queen blow-up mattress, 1 on the living room couch), but that is undeniably a tight squeeze as the house is only 720 square feet.
The best part about our home is our backyard, offering a quiet, shady refuge from the boisterous neighborhood. This could be an ideal place for a couple seeking a romantic retreat or a small group of friends interested in staying in town, working from home, and/or wanting to become familiar with the city. Location is another ideal feature of this place. We are conveniently nestled between Austin Bergstrom International Airport and the City Center. Roy G. Guerrero Colorado River Metro Park is less than 2 miles away and the glorious Mckinney Falls State Park is about 5 miles away. Our yard is fenced, our wifi is reliable, and there is a fully functioning kitchen.
