You'll appreciate the short stroll to Kaibur Cafe, known for its excellent coffee, vegan options, and diverse lunch menu. For those craving wings, Gooski's Bar is a must-visit. Polish Hill offers a quaint neighborhood feel, boasting quality local venues. Plus, its central location means you're just minutes from Downtown, the Strip District, Lawrenceville, and more. We are located just above Bigelow Blvd., so walking to the bars & restaurants of Polish Hill requires you to cross, and there is no cross walk, so we recommend a vehicle. Our area is a very quiet part of the city, with a mixture of older homes & new construction.
Just a 10-minute drive to both Heinz Field and PNC Park.
The Strip District is an easy 18-minute walk.
Duquesne University and key Uptown locations are a brief 7-minute drive.
The renowned Phipps Conservatory is a 12-minute drive away.
And for those heading to the University of Pittsburgh or exploring Oakland, it's a mere 8-minute drive.
Polish Hill is a charming diverse neighborhood right in the city, making it easy to get to Downtown, the Strip District, Lawrenceville, Oakland, and other key areas.
Make the most of Pittsburgh's public transit, including buses and light rail. Just check the schedules to plan your trips efficiently.
We are just above Bigelow, so a car is recommended, as it's a busy road that doesn't have a crosswalk (but there are stop lights, so it is possible to cross, if you're into a Frogger-type experience).
Our home is at the top of a an outdoor set of ~30 stairs, so it's not suitable for guests with mobility issues.
1. Smoking (or vaping) is not allowed in the house. Smoking is allowed outside only; please no butts on the ground. A minimum $1,500 cleaning fee will be submitted if evidence of smoking is found in the home.
2. People other than those in the Guest party may not stay overnight in the property without prior notice. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest. The host has not represented this unit as an event facility, therefore, there is a limit to the number of any visitors at any one time (in addition to registered occupants) of four (4) up to a maximum of 9 persons in the property at any given time. At no time may any of these visitors remain overnight or assume any guest privileges whatsoever.
3. The host is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The host is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises.
3. Guest is responsible for all child proofing. Any child amenities (pack & plays, high chairs, etc.) shall be completely and fully inspected for satisfactory working order by Guest prior to use. Hosts do not inspect child amenities between stays, and any injuries resulting from their use are 100% guest-related.
5. There is no daily housekeeping service. While the house has been thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival and linens and bath towels are included, daily maid service is not included in the rate.
6. We are very flexible hosts, and do not ask or expect our guests to clean prior to check out, other than starting the dishwasher. However, we don't expect our guests to leave a mess; cleaning that requires substantially more time than usual due to garbage, stains, spills, etc., will be charged to the Guest at $40 per hour.
