We chose Bardstown as a base for distillery hopping along the bourbon trail for my brother's 50th birthday. We absolutely loved the Maywood Cottage and the town in general. The home itself feels bigger than it looks outside. It had 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and plenty of clean towels, blankets, pillows. It's nicely decorated with a bourbon theme with glassware, plates, pots and pans available for cooking and cocktail making. I have to say the water pressure in the shower was amazing! The outdoor chimenea and seating was a nice spot to hang out around the fire. The home also had games to play, multiple TVs and a fireplace that switches on with a timer. The beds were comfortable. There was a washer, dryer and a dishwasher available. The home is also really close to downtown (about 2mi) and the local taxi driver knew exactly where we were when he drove us to town and back. Oak and Grape was a cool spot to hang and the locals were all incredibly friendly. There are multiple distilleries within 20min of the home. We had a fantastic meal at Jim Beam's Kitchen Table, recommended to us by the bartender at Neat. Back to the house, I highly recommend staying here if you're in the area. I really hope to return soon to continue exploring the area.
