Charming Cottage with Outdoor Entertainment Center

We are located in a very safe area of Beaufort. It’s a very popular spot for vacationers. We’re not in “the wrong part of town”. Our door lock works well. Bart was having difficulties understanding how to use it so I informed him how to get a hold of a physical key. The AC works. It is a brand new unit that was just installed. He mistakenly thought it was broken due to how quiet it is. Like all vacation rentals we have cameras at the front door and one at the back door. None of these cameras look into the home. Before consulting me or explaining that he didn’t like them Bart began tampering with them. He covered them in plastic and unplugged them from their power source. As a result I was quite concerned by such shady behavior. I called VRBO and had their express permission to cancel his reservation if he refused to return the camera to its original spot. Bart complied but then a day later he began tampering with them again, covering them in plastic and unplugging them. At this point I was very concerned and called the police to inform them that I had a guest that was tampering with my cameras and were informed to leave the property immediately. After threatening messages, refusing to acknowledge that he would leave, and without my cameras operational to confirm his exit of the property the police had to show up in order to get them off the property, to collect the key, and to fix my cameras. At no point has VRBO found myself or the cameras to be in violation.
