This house was the perfect place for us to stay when our marine graduated from boot camp. It was clean, surprisingly spacious and situated in a charming neighborhood. We were close to everything, but the location was also quiet and pleasant. We would highly recommend this home to anyone staying in the area.
Poor A/C and a Retirement Community (Not a vacation spot)
First off, The owners need to highlight the fact (BEFORE you book) that the A/C isnât allowed to go below 72 degrees. If you enjoy a cold house, forget about it. The location of this place is the only thing that attracted me to the property, due to the close proximity of The Beaufort Waterfest. Very out dated house that needs some TLC. If you are under the age of 50, I do not recommend staying here as the neighborhood is strictly full of retirees that just stare at you and wait for the simplest inconvenience for them to report you to the HOA. We knew this going in, so we kept extremely quiet at all hours, day and night. (there were only 4 of us total- Ages 27-35). The rules also stated no boats are to be parked at the house. The marina does not offer anywhere to store your trailer, so we kept the (brand new) trailer (not the boat, as there were only disclosures about boats) in the driveway for 7 hours total. Before even getting back to the house to move it, we had been called by the property manager threatening an HOA fine, and a note (I can only assume the neighbor, that has nothing better to do) left on our trailer. Needless to say, there are way too many options in the area to stay at this place again. This spot is not for vacations.
The property was clean and well maintained. The views from the porch made everything ideal. We enjoyed short Uber rides to local restaurants and enjoyed celebrating our anniversary here! Highly recommend.
Very well equipped home in a quaint neighborhood with a wonderful view of the water. Quiet except for the songbirds who sang daily. Beds were all comfy, even the top bunk.
Beautiful neighborhood and sweet home wrapped in the arms of giant Live Oak trees. The view from the screened porch is wonderful. We spent mornings and evenings on the porch.
From check-in to check-out we had everything we needed at this house. The neighborhood was absolutely beautiful and had the feeling of a small walkable community. House could probably use a little updating but - nothing was lacking or unclean or inoperable. I would definitely recommend this rental property.
Enjoyed our stay at this property. The only exception we had were the mattresses upstairs. Probably fine for children, not so much for adults. Also Did not get any breeze from the ceiling fan on the porch. Blades probably need to move in the opposite direction.
Everything was great except the heat. We were fully prepared for the heat outside in late June, but the request by the owners to not take the thermostat below 72 meant for miserable nights for one member of our group. Iâm sure 72 works for many/most but that was an issue for our stay. Again, everything else was nice and the daily sunrises did not disappoint. Keypad access, fully equipped kitchen, 2 full parking spaces and easy access to area sites were definite strengths.
Would stay again but at cooler times of the year.
We were in the area for my nieceâs graduation from USMC boot camp at Parris Island and this was perhaps one of our better VRBO experiences. The house was very nice all around, but we spent more time on the screened porch than anywhere else because we loved that view. I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the home was. We didnât eat at the house because we were out so early each morning and packed picnic lunches for our days and then had dinner at local places so I canât speak too much to the kitchen, but from what I could tell it was well appointed from a glassware and dinnerware perspective.
If I were to pick one thing to improve, it would be the quality of the sheets and pillows. While the mattresses were quite comfortable, the sheets were not the best and the pillows were thin and flat.
We would definitely recommend this house whether you are there for boot camp graduation or just to enjoy the SC Low Country.
I prefer communication in VRBO instead of management co for check in info and issues. The house was laid out great but the neighbor hood was not conducive to walking and no dock access to inter coastal (picture looks like it does but it did not state that it did either). The upstairs felt damp and humid every evening. The microwave kept flipping the breaker and needs to be checked. Washer and dryer worked great but I will say I was leary to use it with all the rust on it. None of the bifold closet doors shut, and it would have been nice to have TV in upstairs bedrooms. The bedroom with the view (full) was the most uncomfortable bed and is in desperate need of a new mattress.
Very clean house with a beautiful view of the water inlet.
Our first evening at the house we went down to Marker 244 for dinner. Great food and right in the neighborhood. It was only a 2 minute walk from the house, on the marina with a beautiful view of the boats and water. We spent 1 day at Henry Chambers Waterfront park in Beaufort. It was only a 7 minute drive and from there you can walk to lots of shopping and restaurants in Beaufort. Yo Yos ice cream was great. We spent 1 day at Folly Field Beach. It was a 50 minute drive but perfect for us because we could rent chairs and an umbrella. Clean restrooms, outside showers, and a beautiful beach. Hunting island State Park was a 30 minute drive with a visitors center, lighthouse, and beautiful beach but you can't rent chairs and umbrella there. Stopped at Barefoot Bubba's ice cream on our drive back and it was great. The morning we left we had breakfast at The Olde Schoolhouse Restaurant. OMG. The best breakfast ever!! The house inside was very clean. The rug at the front door needs replaced because it is curled up on the corners to the point that it is a trip hazard. We spent lots of time relaxing in the living room looking out at the beautiful view.
The house is located in a charming little neirghborhood and the views are spectacular. It's a 3 min walk to the marina, a few minutes to shoppes and restaurants. Great location! The house is comfortabe and inviting. We enjoyed it.
Great house! Perfect location for Parris Island graduation!
Perfect location to stay at for my nephews graduation from Marine Bootcamp at Parris Island. Plenty of space for a family of 5 and the sunrises on the porch are breathtaking!! Close to restaurants and shops! Adorable neighborhood!
This was a very clean, comfortable, and well kept property. All the furniture was very comfortable and I loved the bed in the master bedroom. We enjoyed our time there and enjoyed exploring. The house is in a quaint little development with a great restaurant you can walk to - Marker 244. We enjoyed the Port Royal Boardwalk and observation tower, and the Sands beach. There was some construction at house next door, but it was not too intrusive and won't last forever. We were usually gone during the main part of the day. Don't be distracted by the old key lock box on the column (hopefully it will be gone soon). I made a very silly mistake and kept trying to open the old lock box when the real lock is on the front door. It clearly says the lock is on the front door, but we got there late and tired. Our son that slept in the upstairs West bedroom felt he was too hot. We bought a fan and left it there - hope it is still there in case anyone else using that room is uncomfortable. I don't know if it was really uncomfortable or my son was just being very picky. The closest enjoyable public beach is on Hunting Island State Park. They had outdoor showers to help remove the sand when leaving. We wanted to drive through Fripp Island and look over the channel to Prichards Island, but don't waste your time. Fripp Island is PRIVATE and only those who live or rent there are allowed entry. I read that Parris Island had a beach - but it is PRIVATE for military and military families only. So no point going there if you do not fit into that approved category. We drove to Hilton Head Island several times and enjoyed the beach and activities available there. We had a great time and really appreciated this lovely house to call home for a week.
