Located beneath the live oaks of historic downtown Wilmington, above a bed of butterfly bushes and jasmine, this brand new 1 bedroom 1 bath carriage house apartment is 4 blocks from the Cape Fear riverwalk and 2 blocks to the Castle Street Arts District, located on a quiet block, and convenient to all local attractions. This well appointed carriage house unit features a 55" flat screen TV with streaming apps, high speed Wi-Fi, full kitchen with dishwasher, Keurig with complimentary coffee, tea, and and hot chocolate, dining area, premium bedding, and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Living room includes a pull-out queen sofa bed with comfortable memory foam mattress. Stocked with board games and puzzles. Located behind the main home, the upstairs carriage house apartment has contact-free, keyless access. Wake up to beautiful views of church steeples before exploring the historic district with wonderful restaurants, craft breweries, and antique dealers, or venturing out to nearby beaches and wineries (stocked with beach towels and chairs). And bonus - the apartment is dog friendly for bringing along your fur baby (dog towels and some treats provided!) We were extremely happy with our stay here! Impeccably clean, well decorated and appointed, great location on a quaint residential street but walkable to the river and shops and restaurants. Would hands down stay here again if we return!

perfect stay in great location!

my teen daughter & i traveled for a mother/daughter trip with a friend and her daughter and we loved our stay here! the carriage house was the perfect size and located in walking distance to downtown. we enjoyed walks checking out the historic homes in the neighborhood and never felt unsafe. biggest perk: well-stocked amenities like toilet paper, not just one roll that runs out mid-trip :) thanks for being fantastic hosts, would definitely stay again!

My husband and I loved staying here! The place is immaculate and lovely. We’ve never stayed at a VRBO that was so thoughtfully appointed and configured as a guest house for both humans and dogs. The neighborhood is lovely, great for walking, and so close to the Boardwalk area. Thanks to Bobby and Wayne!

Great Hideaway

We had a great 4-night stay at Butterfly Hideaway. The neighborhood is very quiet but close to restaurants, stores, the riverfront and historical sites. We found this place perfect for us and our little dog. Would stay again if we’re in Wilmington again.

Amazing gem a stones throw away from the Historic District

Had a wonderful four-nite time stay at the carriage house run by Wayne and Bobby. They thought of every little detail to make our stay worry free. The kitchen was fully equipped, the beds extremely comfortable, and there were even toiletries in case we forgot something as well as bones and doggie bags for our pups.

My wife and I spent two nights and we cannot recommend you stay here strongly enough. The facility is modern, comfortable, quiet, convenient and has everything you might want and then some. If giving 100 stars was possible we would do that. Stop looking and just stay here. Really.

Our second stay in six months at this lovely property. Close to the Riverwalk and the shops and restaurants of Wilmington. Quiet historic area that oozes charm. Thoughtfully set up with everything you need. Butterfly Cottage has it all.

Great location for marathon

This was an adorable little cottage with everything we needed. The location was about 4 blocks off of the marathon route and we loved being able to have our dogs. No problems finding free street parking right in front of the house and easy places to walk and potty the dogs.

History around every corner coupled with great restaurants, museums, historic homes, the Riverwalk, theaters, and concerns at Live Oak Pavilion - all within walking distance!
