This place worked well for our familyâs short visit to NYC. It was priced reasonably, in a safe neighborhood and was a fairly short drive into the city. The owner responded quickly to our questions, the check in process was very easy and the checkout requirements were simple. We enjoyed our stay!
We stayed here after seeing George Strait in concert. We were able to check in at 4 pm but we didn't check in until after the concert. The lockbox with the key was a little hard to open, but once opened, we were able to get into the house no problem. We checked out the house and ate a bit before crashing. We left early in the morning, well before checkout.
First time in New York and New Jersey.
We had a lot of fun once we found some repairs around us.
Next time will be better decause we already have some repairs.
I would have appreciate a road map in the property to help us visit more .
Overnight stay for 6 adults. The driveway had enough room for 4 cars. The 3rd bedroom is more like a closet. It is located in the room with the king bed and does not have a window only a twin bed and table. The house was clean. And the extra towels and toilet paper were nice to have.
The location of the stay was great. We had a family of five with four adults and one child. One room was not a full room, it is a closet that was converted to fit a twin bed. It was fine for our child but had to keep the door open as it felt a little too tight in there. We had challenges with lighting on the first night when we got in. Nancy was very responsive and sent someone over to help get this remediated. It was fixed within the first few hours. I appreciated the quick response especially on a Saturday evening. The refrigerator had a broken drawer and also struggled to keep our food cold. The water dispenser did not work. There were people working in the basement all throughout our stay. I found that to be a challenge given that it was not communicated ahead of time. Also, there was quite a bit of noise throughout the day which impacted us while we were trying to rest. He also had challenges with the folks working in the basement and having enough parking in the driveway. Overall the stay was fine, thankful we had a safe place for our family to stay for the week. But disappointed by the experiences we had.
Donât stay here unless you want to get ripped off.
The place certainly was not what I was expecting. It is smaller in person than in pictures. One side of deck has an ok view of the Main Street and driveway, the other side of deck has a horrible view of an abandoned garage and unfinished driveway of some sort which looked flooded. The entrance did not look like the pictures. besides the exterior issues, I did not like the fact that the 2 bedrooms did not have closets or dressers. The one room has a closet size room but has a twin size bed there with a huge rectangular hole in the wall. Big enough to climb up and over ( creepy). So the fact that I came with my entire family including a baby , it was a huge inconvenience that there wasnât any place to put away our things. The house doesnât even have closets. Iâve never been to a home that didnât have closets or even a dresser. Anyways so I stayed there 1 night and before even 24 hours of check in, I contacted the host and expressed that I was going somewhere else, it wasnât for us. Host did try to accommodate by willing to bring a rack and trying to find a dresser. However I flew in from Florida and planned on staying from march 9th to the 17th. I do understand that it was non refundable, but I wish she couldâve been a bit more sensitive of the situation and refunded at least half of the money, considering the fact that it did not look like what it was advertised. The place was clean, thatâs the only thing nice I could say about place. I only stayed 2 days. And charged over 2k.
The property is listed exactly how it appeared. The host was very nice, polite, and quick to reply to messages. We stayed for 2 nights for a quick visit to NYC so we weren't at the unit much except to sleep. My wife LOVED the bed sheets. The uncertainty around the place is that we think someone was living in the basement. This wouldn't be an issue itself, the unknowing gave a little "creepy" vibe. We couldn't access the basement and the basement area could not access the main area... again, it was just the not knowing that made it a little weird. Check out was noon but cleaning showed up about 11:15 so we really felt unnecessarily rushed to finally leave. If this is normal, I would change the listed check out to 11am instead of noon. Great little place, host very nice.
