Our first time renting this house, but it will be our top choice for future visits to Oberlin. Home was very clean, very well appointed, and an easy 3-4 block walk to the center of town. The host was very helpful throughout, in addition to being timely and complete with all communications.
Stayed here visiting our 2nd year at the college, and it is a great home base for being close to town and campus. So much is walking distance, including the restaurants, stores and other conveniences. The home was clean and super comfortable, fully equipped kitchen. The vinyl collection â amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We spent one night with our dog. The location was perfect for easy access to downtown Oberlin, a sweet little park, bakery, restaurants, a coffee shop and the Oberlin College campus. It was very hot, but the A/C and overhead fans kept the property cool. The size was great for the two of us. We didnât cook, but the kitchen is well equipped for meal prep. Overall, it was a good choice for us.
We absolutely loved this place - a short walk to everything in town, very comfortable and cozy, and good value. Thanks to the host, can't wait to be back!
Everything worked out great for us at Garyn's home. The location was perfect for graduation and move out from village housing. The house was clean and comfortable, supplied with everything you need to cook and as described/pictured. The host was very responsive and helpful. I really could not have asked for more!
We had a wonderful stay here while visiting Oberlin. The property was just as advertised, quiet, well appointed, and cozy. Will definitely return when back in town.
Comfortable, easy to walk the 2 blocks to Main Street and the Oberlin campus. Well appointed. Attractive. Nice neighborhood.Considering renting again at graduation time.
My husband and I had a very nice stay in Garyn's home. Everything was in perfect shape upon our arrival. It is a fun place to stay as there is a music theme and lots of good LPs to play while enjoying the decorations. It is close to the college and the downtown. The only thing we missed was a WiFi connection. Otherwise, there was nothing to want for during our 3-day stay. We would highly recommend a stay in this comfortable home.Elsie & Carl
The house is as described. We found it comfortable and cozy. Location is a quick walk to the college. Amenities are good and overall we would definitely stay again.
We very much enjoyed our stay in this rental. The quiet location is excellent for visiting the College and Conservatory and downtown Oberlin. Beds and other furniture are comfortable. Kitchen was well-equipped. No complaints at all, would definitely stay here again.
We had a great time at Garyn's place. It was so close to the college, cozy, great bed, and lovely backyard. The communication was great, and we would absolutely stay there again. Thanks again to Garyn for his understanding! Oh, and the kitchen was so nicely supplied! A cozy place to call home for your trip.
We stayed at Garyn's place while we moved our kid into Oberlin for freshman year. It was clean, spacious, well-decorated, and very convenient location near campus. Overall very happy with our stay. There was pet hair in the home and I would not suggest this rental to a person with pet allergies.
Needed a crash pad while visiting niece and her family at Oberlin. Just enough off the beaten path but super close to campus, shops, and restaurants.
Loved exploring our hosts' taste in music, literature, and loose tea.
Rained all weekend so the house was perfect for bringing the rest of the family over to hang out.
I don't want to say too many great things because the niece will be there for 4 years and we want to stay there every time we visit!
Great experienceâGaryn was a great host. The place is comfortable and quirkily decorated and extremely well-thought out, with everything you need right thereâchargers, games, Bluetooth, you name it. It was probably the easiest, most user-friendly rental experience Iâve ever had. Ten minute walk to the college, convenient for this parent of an incoming first-year. Definitely hope to come back!
Great house and location for Oberlin's parents visiting town
We stayed for a couple of nights while visiting our child who studies at Oberlin, and the house served us very well. It is clean, well appointed, and very functional (the record collection is an extra plus). Everything is exactly as shown in the photos. The location, just a few blocks from restaurants and shops, is very quiet and works well when visiting Oberlin. The hose is very responsive and accommodating: definitely recommended.
Perfect place in the perfect location to Oberlin College
What a great find. Been staying in hotels up to 15 miles away since there isnât much right near campus. But to find this place was a score. Excellent location and all the necessary accessories. Soft towels and a great yard as well. Place is simple yet cool with guitars and a record player and a nice tv. The host was friendly and always available and easy to communicate with. Will definitely try to line this place up for next year
We loved the quiet neighborhood and the short walk to campus. It was awesome sleeping with the windows open and seeing the fireflies in the evening! We enjoyed making french press coffee in the mornings. The voice activated lighting was not great, but we managed. The master bed frame is too wide and has sharp corners and I knew my husband would whack his shin on it; he did so twice the first night. The house overall has an old house smell and the sofa was smelly, though kitchen, bathroom and beds were pristine. Would stay again despite the negatives.
