This tiny home was charming and perfect. It had everything we needed - and the communication with the host was efficient, timely, and helpful. We didnât want to leave after our weekend visit, and when we return to Plattsburgh, we will 100% choose to stay here again. Thank you for everything!
We toured around the country side leaf peaking, went to fort Ticonderoga sat on the hill looking at the lake. Just a great spot. Went out to eat made breakfast in the tiny house.
The tiny home was what we expected, but a few things were unsettling. First, before we arrived we got a text stating that the key had ben lost and would be replaced. We were never given a key during our stay. Second, we asked for a blanket (no blanket on the bed when we arrived), we were told that they would be dropped off on the porch but were inside and on the bed when we returned. This felt like a huge invasion of privacy, especially since there was no key to lock the house and we were told it would be left on the porch, not inside.
Lastly, the reason why we booked this place was that there was a pool listed and we wanted a weekend by the pool. What we found was a locked gate and a very green pool that obviously hadn't been used in years (while the listing itself is new). We were very disappointed. We then talked to a very nice lady name Sandy who has spent every summer there for the last 15years, she was shocked to learn that the pool was on the rental listing as it hasn't been used since the pandemic and it is NOT open to renters, it is the owners private pool who he doesn't let people in due to liability. I totally understand that, so why use it as a selling feature on the rental property? We felt it was added to charge us more per night to stay there.
This stay left a very bad taste and we wish we had chosen a different rental.
The NOMAD was a little small for us, but very cute and super clean. It was a rainy weekend and we loved the sound of the rain on the roof and on the lake. It was a great home base for exploring Essex county and spending time in Burlington.
Fall foliage meant everything else was booked and we took a chance on the âtiny house!â Iâd been curious to stay in a tiny house, but if Iâd looked a little closer (beyond the title of the property) I wouldâve figured out this was a trailer before we showed up! It was a great spot thoughâquiet, secluded, on the water, with maybe 2 other small housing units on the property. Just what we needed after seeing a concert in Burlington.
