  maison de vacances familiale ludique. Le grand plan ouvert en bas
  comprend l'entrée, le salon, la salle à manger et une salle de bain
  avec une douche. Aussi au rez de chaussée est la entièrement équipée
  cuisine et logements du personnel. Trois ensembles de portes françaises
  ouvrir sur la véranda couverte, qui s'étend sur la largeur du
  maison et se connecte à la piscine privée. A l'étage, le
  quatre grandes chambres et la salle de jeux qui donne sur
  océan et abrite une table de billard, des fléchettes, la télévision et autres

Home away from home

This was our family's second time staying at Sleepy Shallows and it keeps getting better each time. The addition of a full en suite bedroom on the ground floor was so helpful for my mother who stayed in this room and didn't have to go up and down the stairs much; and for our little 7 month old to be able to take naps while we all enjoyed being at the pool or beach right outside. The staff were new from since we last stayed and they were WONDERFUL! Chef Anthony is truly a master chef - every dish, and he made many for each meal, was incredible. Jason was so attentive to our needs and made the whole trip so comfortable and seamless. He, along with Kerry, Tessan and Kevin were so warm to our kids and they loved spending time taking walks around the property, catching crabs. We thoroughly enjoyed our days relaxing by the pool and the beach, and then spending our evenings as a family in the games room. Thank you Jacqui to your and your staff for everything! Sleepy Shallows definitely feels now like our home away from home - we will be back!

A piece of heaven!

I highly recommend staying at the Sleepy Shallows property. This was the best trip we've had, and we are a traveling bunch, so that is saying a LOT! The staff was incredible. Jason, the butler, was very attentive, helped us with booking excursions, massages, etc. He was wonderful with the kids in our group, procuring snacks, and fruit drinks. Anthony, the chef, prepared super delicious meals. Everything was tasty and he made sure to check in with us, to ensure it was to our liking. Kerry, Tessen, kept the house immaculate and ensured we had dry towels for the beach and pool. And Kevin helped to ensure the pool and grounds were kept up. I'm sure all the reviews say the same thing...the staff really makes this trip. They make you feel like you are royalty. The location is perfect, with very calm water and private beach. The calm water made it easy to take the paddle boards out or to kayak. This was an incredible trip, and we can't wait to make this a yearly tradition! Thank you!

Everything was wonderful!!

My husband, son, good friend and parents stayed at Sleepy Shallows this week. I sit in the airport now already missing Andrew, Kadine, Anthony and Kevin! The home is incredible in every way…clean, safe, comfortable beds, incredible views, private beach, great location…but it’s the staff that are the heart of this home. If you want a truly relaxing, stress free vacation, look no further. We didn’t want to leave and I pray someday we return. The memories we made here and the staff that helped make them will stay in our hearts forever! You won’t regret this stay. What we loved: everything. The private beach is literally steps away, soft sand and the water is perfect, it’s a calm bay with beautiful sunsets. The pool was also great and there were so many places to relax in the shade with the light breeze to cool you after a day in the sun- we napped in the pavilion daily. So peaceful! Anthony is an amazing chef, and all meals were incredible - and Andrew’s desserts will almost make you cry they’re so good. Kadine kept the home perfectly clean, always with a smile, our beds turned down and the ac on each night for our comfort. Kevin was always there to offer help with paddle boards or Kayaks and kept the grounds looking beautiful. And finally Andrew, just the most incredible human, that met our every need whether organizing a deep sea fishing trip or making sure we had our favorite drinks served poolside. Andrew has a giving spirit that made our stay unforgettable!

A true vacation

Where do I start?! This was our second stay at Sleepy Shallows and it of course did not disappoint. This place is truly magical. It was one of our first family and extended family vacations in a while and with the new extension everyone had plenty of space. The location is truly special and options are endless - opportunity to kayak, paddle board, play soccer/football, snorkel, explore the other private beaches and wind down in the pool. What I can’t say enough about is the staff. Andrew, Kevin, Kadine, Angela and Anthony made our stay actually feel like a vacation. We hope to come back soon and make more memories

Beyond exceptional in every way!

Sleepy Shallows exceeded every single expectation we had for our vacation in Jamaica! Not only was the home perfectly appointed with spacious bedrooms, luxurious king size beds, beautifully updated bathrooms, and thoughtful amenities, but the grounds were stunningly lush with many gorgeous flowers and vines. We quickly realized we made the right decision to stay in the villa instead of a resort! And while the villa is wonderful, the real treasure is the amazing staff that attended to us as if they could read our minds! Butler, Andrew, is a gifted hospitality professional and truly a master host. He anticipated every need to create many special moments for our family - and his key lime pie and fruit cake are not to be missed! Chef Anthony's meals are absolutely delicious, perfectly incorporating every guest's preferences while also introducing us to many traditional Jamaican dishes. Even our pickiest eaters were blown away by his creativity and talent. Housekeeper, Kadine, quietly and unobtrusively kept the whole house spotless and tidy throughout our stay. (Not an easy feat with 6 guests including 2 teens!) Her attentive turndown service each night ensured a perfect night's rest. Friendly groundskeeper Kevin was helpful with the kayaks and paddle boards and even a fishing pole. We all agree that Sleepy Shallows made our Jamaican vacation exceptional and we hope to return soon to enjoy more time with our new friends Andrew, Anthony, Kadine, and Kevin!

We were 5 adults and 1 18-month old and everything was so well done. Kadine, Andrew, Anthony and Kevin handled all our needs and the result was a most relaxing vacation. The payment challenge for groceries in earlier reviews has been solved. Easy to settle up via online app. The house, pool, beach, food, service, etc was all outstanding. The setting is remote, but Andrew was ready to help make arrangements for outings. Overall, A+.

I stayed here with my husband, 10 year old son, adult sister and my parents. There was plenty of space for everyone. The house was always spotless and the staff were amazing. It was so nice to have a beautiful home, large patio, pool, gazebo, backyard and private beach all for us!

Kid-friendly Villa

Our three-related families of 9 just returned from a fantastic time at the Sleepy Shallows villa. The grounds are filled with tropical plants and flowers overlooking a quiet, shallow bay perfect for kids and adults. Young kids will like the sandy beach and gentle slope and smooth waters, while older ones will enjoy the views, kayaks and paddleboards. The grass lawn, wide enough to throw a football, and hammocks provide an outdoor break from the beach. The house is good sized with nice views and with master bedrooms well separated. The pool and adjacent eating deck warrant multiple hangouts throughout the day. The furnishings are very nice and clean with a stylish and interesting decor. Our group required two high chairs and pack-n-plays; good ones were available. The four full-time staff were superb, with Keno (gardener and water guy), Kadine (housekeeper), Anthony (chef), and Andrew (butler) becoming part of the family; all were great with the kids and us. Andrew will take care of all requests and island visits and arrange shopping, and Anthony outdid himself with 3 delicious meals daily that kept getting better through the week. Oxtail stew, jerk chicken and snapper, fried chicken, curry goat, and lobster and ceviche were favorites, always with fresh fruits and vegetables and great sides, but seemingly any request was welcomed and proved tasty. Andrew's deserts were special toppers, with cocoanut and key lime pies flying high. Afternoon cocktails of multiple sorts were pleasant options daily. We loved the last night tradition of a dinner on the beach with bonfire. Travel is a challenge. We opted for transportation arranged through the villa, and were glad we did not rent cars. Still, it was not a good fit for the size and ages of our group to take day trips, was expensive, and casual errands were a last consideration. Fortunately, there is a great tubing and float trip on the tropical river with one terminus next door, and the activies at the villa and water and other sports at hand kept our group happily entertained without the need to travel distances. Ask Jacquie about tipping policies in advance, and take plenty of cash, US dollars welcomed. Of course all food and drink expenses are by the guests; budget accordingly. A helpful service would be for the host to set up some sort of electronic transfer account, such as Zelle or CashApp, to facilitate payments or tips, given the difficulty in obtaining cash locally.

The best vacation ever!

Our families had the best vacation ever at Sleepy Shallows! We had 4 adults and 5 kids, ranging from 11-16 y.o. The memories we made here will last a lifetime! Andrew, Anthony, Kadine and Keno were absolutely amazing and made our stay so comfortable and easy. They thought of every detail- the meals, drinks, turndown service, sparkling clean house, beautifully manicured property and help with planning excursions and drivers all made for the most relaxing vacation. We learned so much about Jamaican culture, food and vegetation while we were there from the four of them. They truly treated us like family and made our stay so wonderful. The house itself is beautiful, spacious and very clean. The outdoor living spaces are so comfortable and large enough to fit our group of 9 comfortably. The yard is filled with beautiful flowers and bushes and tons of fruit trees. The beach had soft white sand and the clearest water. Set in Bengal Bay, you are perfectly protected from the big waves of the ocean which makes for great kayaking, swimming and even some snorkeling not far from shore. We played beach volleyball a ton and there is plenty of yard space for games and running around. We we went on several excursions nearby (Blue Hole, tubing on the Rio Bueno, Luminous Lagoon). Andrew was super helpful in planning these trips and arranging for transportation. This took all of the guess work out of it for us which was great. We highly recommend this villa for your stay! We will be back!

Review of stay with family and friends

We rented this beautiful property for a week. There were four adults and four kids ranging from 11 years old to 15 years old. The house itself is beautiful as well as the property. It was kept sparkling clean by the staff everyday. Our cook Anthony made delicious meals including authentic Jamaican food which was the most appreciated. Andrew our butler took wonderful care of us and was very attentive. A few things to note: 1) the water in the bay is very calm and shallow. My kids were looking for something a bit deeper to do some swimming and some gentle waves which we finally had on the last day 2) there is construction going on right next door which can get quite loud at times and difficult to sit outside and enjoy a drink and conversation when there is a power drill in the background. When I made the owner aware of the situation she did try and contact the owner of the villa that was being constructed on but the last two days we had this construction on and off which was very distracting 3) there is a busy highway right beside the house and it can get quite loud. Bring earplugs for nighttime and be aware that even during the day it can be noisy All in all a lovely stay which is really made by the staff of the house. They will take extra good care of you. Just be aware that it isn’t as quiet as I thought it would be.

Amazing property

We could not have asked for a more amazing property. The house was huge with 4 master suites and an additional full bath downstairs. Every room was immaculate. Multiple outdoor seating areas, all beautiful. Beautiful pool with huge cabana with enough comfortable seating for our entire party of 8. Beautiful grass lawn leading down to our private beach was perfect for activities. Beach volleyball and kayaks as well as seating for 8 on the beach. Water is very shallow so a little hard to swim, but perfect for kids. The staff was simply amazing and took care of our every need. They did all the shopping, cooking and cleanup for every meal and every meal was exquisite. Served dinner on the beach and set us up with a bonfire with s'mores on one night. By the end of the week, it felt like they were our extended family. The only drawback was the fact that the property is very close to the main road so there was often lots of traffic noise. Some days worse than others. We learned to overlook it. Thank you for an amazing family vacation experience we will always remember. #missing andrew!

Wonderful stay!

Sleepy Shallows was an amazing experience. The house itself was better than the pictures described. The outdoor space including beach and cabana were fantastic. Andrew, Chef Anthony, Keno and Kadine made our trip even better than we could have hoped. They were attentive, accommodating, understanding and patient. Chef Anthony's food was delicious and Andrew's special cocktails were excellent. And all had lovely personalities. We recommend Sleep Shallows to anyone!

An unforgettable week with family

10/10 experience staying at Sleepy Shallows with my family. We stayed here for a week to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday. Our groups consisted of 8 adults and 4 children under the age of 5. Having the villa, pool, and stretch of private calm beach made everything extremely accessible and easy with young kids. The staff made our experience completely luxurious and attended to our every need. The property manager was answered questions very quickly and was even phone us during our stay when we had a specific question. The other reviews are accurate in that the villa is along a main road and the cars/trucks can be quite loud, especially in the early morning which can affect sleep. Bring earplugs! One small area of improvement would be the process to settle bills for the cost of food/drinks at the end of the stay. We were handed a bunch of loose receipts, some hand written and asked to add everything up and complete the conversion rate. A better process would be to provide a summary and if needed, guests can reference the receipts after. Overall, this vacation far exceeded an all-inclusive resort and the staff made our stay unforgettable. Hope to return here again some day!

Amazing Holiday at Sleepy Shallows!

Our first family trip outside of the US since Covid. Our trip was amazing from the second we arrived. The staff is unbelievably attentive! Andrew our butler tended to every request and need and made great desserts. Anthony the chef prepared the most amazing meals for our family of seven. We requested a pig roast on the beach and voila!! Kadine kept the house pristine at all times and Khino kept the grounds and pool spotless! The house was very comfortable with all amenities. Every bedroom had an en-suite with air conditioning. Our son got engaged during our stay and the staff made it so memorable! They floated flowers on the pool and put candles in the cabana for them! It was truly a beautiful vacation that will always be treasured. Thank you so much to Jacqui and staff for hosting us!! We hope to be back!

Pre-Christmas Celebration Stay

We stayed the week prior to Christmas for family celebration with 6 of us to include 4 young adults / teens to celebrate health and happiness. We were treated like kings and queens with every detail accounted for. Andrew took care of every need, trip, shopping, adventures. Anthony was an amazing chef and tailored to our tastes with beautiful meals 3 times a day, and even a finicky daughter. Kadine ensured everything was picture perfect, tidy, and let us play with Lilly her beautiful resident pup. Khino kept the grounds immaculate and always helping the team, helping with kayaks etc. From picture perfect mornings with hot breakfast and coffee to cooking fish the boys caught and fresh lobster and beach bonfire to close out the stay. It was perfect. A great location, a beautiful home and a wonderful team. Just what we needed to reconnect, rest, relax, and enjoy the ocean!

Family Reunion

We were looking for a property to bring together my in-laws from overseas, my mother (who is blind), and my brother (who could only join our trip partially) to be able to spend a relaxing holiday together and spend quality time with our 8-month old baby. This property was absolute perfection. We made our decision off of all the previous reviews + the description/pictures here, and they were accurate in every way! Nothing disappointed. The staff are beyond lovely and warm - when we departed, we felt as if we were saying goodbye to family. Ms Gloria cooked us the most outstanding meals every day - which Kadine and Andrew helped plan out the meals to suit everyone's wishes (Some of our group liked spicy, some did not. Some liked seafood, some liked meat. Every meal was planned so everyone was able to thoroughly enjoy!) The house is immaculate - I am very impressed how well they can keep a property so clean, particularly as it is a beach villa. There was not a speck of sand in our living quarters. (There are house rules - which we all respected - wash sand off feet before entering pool or house, no wet feet inside!) We mainly came to just relax on the property, but there are water activities which we did a couple days - Khino took us kayaking right off the beach; we also did paddle boarding. There is a billards room which we played most evenings. Andrew also took us to the local supermarket and showed us some of the ingredients they use - it was a fun little trip. For any other excursions, they are happy to help arrange. We hope to be back very soon!

Exactly what we didn't know we needed...

We had a beautiful week at Sleepy Shallows. The house was truly lovely and the room configuration was perfect for our group of 8. Having the A/C in each room at night and comfy beds made sleeping a breeze. The nightly turn down service was above and beyond expectation. Our favorite part of the entire house and where we spent the most time was the lanai (outdoor covered patio area). When we weren't in the ocean (which was for hours everyday) we were playing cards, reading and dozing off in the comfy furniture provided. Gloria cooked us 3 meals per day. That woman can cook. For a mom who is constantly being asked "What's for dinner?" not having a lift a finger or even go in to the kitchen was the highlight of my trip. Her fried chicken, ox tail and jerk chicken are all out of this world. Note to those traveling with kids we stopped at the store on our way in and picked up snacks (chips and other unhealthy items) but we found that the kids enjoyed having these available during the day to snack on. The water in Bengal Beach is clear and warm. It changed color based on the cloud cover and rain. We enjoyed floating in the ocean with cocktails (bring thermal cups) and playing frisbee and football. great family time was had during this trip. As for the staff we shed a tear when leaving. Andrew is a magician. He took care of us the entire week and his ability to sense what we needed even before we knew it left as all in awe. Keno, worked non stop from sun up to 10 at night. He kept the pool spotless, built us a few amazing fires and was just a joy to talk to. I can't say enough about these two and I wish I could have just put them on the plane with us and taken them home. The only suggestion I would have would be to provide some type of pre welcome packet to guests. It could include directions to the house, menu options, excursions available, transport to/from airport and tipping policy. As a seasoned traveler I knew the questions to ask ahead of time but this would only enhance a guests visit. Two huge thumbs up for this property. Beach living at its finest but the staff is what put it over the top for us. Cheers to them.

Real Jamaica

My family has visited Jamaica several times and stayed at different resorts. It’s always been wonderful. But, staying at this house with just the family and a staff that is caring, helpful, and attentive was a slice of heaven. This is real Jamaica. Everything you could want and more. I simply can’t say enough positive things about the house, the staff, and The FOOD! Just wow. We will be back.

Nothing short of AMAZING

We just can’t say enough about this vacation! It was definitely one for the books! We relaxed, made memories, went on adventures and fell in love with the staff! Andrew, Kadine, Gloria, & Gregory stole our hearts! The hardwork, personable connections, and each tiny detail was adored, appreciated and didn’t go unnoticed! We just had the best time from a couple of excursions to not having to leave this beautiful and comfortable home!! It was the perfect size, location and had great amenities! This was the first ever vacation that I was far from being ready for it to end! Thank you for absolutely everything!

Birthday Celebrations

Sleepy Shallows is truly magical. We traveled to Jamaica with 4 adults and 4 kids for my mom's 70th and my daughter's 3rd birthday. The location on a quiet secluded bay with calm waters was perfect for my 5yr old and 3 yr old. The house is well maintained and very warm and welcoming. The beds are extremely comfortable and the staff kept the rooms tidy with turn down service in the morning and the evening. Gloria, the chef, made impeccable meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She even baked cupcakes for my daughters birthday and a rum cake for my moms. Andrew, the butler, was available to address all our needs including arranging for excursions, groceries, covid testing and even took us crab hunting at night. My kids loved playing hide and seek with him and Kadine (housekeeper) around the grounds. Gregory, the groundskeeper, was always up and about maintaining the landscaping, keeping the pool tidy and building beautiful bonfires for the last few nights of our stay. I would absolutely come back with the family and bring some friends as well. The staff is truly what makes this trip stand out from all the rest.
