Loved the location. Great cabin for a couple to stay in. Could use a little more lighting dishwasher didn't work and the ac wasn't working. Not a big deal they provided us with a window air conditioner. I would definitely book this cabin again. Great place!
Overall, everything was great. Check-in was super easy! Communicating with the host was super easy, they were quick to respond. The only issues we had were with the cabin itself. It wasn't super clean, the fan was dusty, the hot tub wasn't super clean. We had bought lights to put in it because the one's the hot tub had weren't working and the magnets on the back of the lights collected an insane amount of metal on them. Location was great, super close to everything! Overall it was a great cabin for our weekend away. I would recommend it for others!
Dogwood was a wonderful, secluded place to stay for our two night trip.
The cabin had what we needed for a two night stay in Hocking Hills. The cabin shared part of the driveway with two other cabins; however, it was still secluded. I would recommend taking a vehicle with four wheel drive as the driveway/ road leading to the cabin was steep with gravel rock. The amenities of the hot tub, pool table, fire pit, and back decks were great as well. If youâre there for a long stay, you may need more kitchen supplies than what is provided.
This cabin was a perfect place to stay for a couple of nights. The location of the cabin provided great privacy and seclusion deep in the woods, which is just what we were looking for. The only (very minor) thing that was underwhelming was the lighting both in and out of the cabin. The hot tub was nice and relaxing, but the back deck could have used some alternative lighting aside from the single poach light. Same goes for the side of the house out by the fire pit, it was hard to see what we were doing while trying to light the fire in the dark, but flashlights did the trick. The inside of the cabin could also use some more lamps and maybe an air freshener. These little details and did not take away from our stay at all, but I just wanted to provide some feedback for the host! Book Hocking did a great job with this cozy little cabin.
See above.
Since you don't ask what I did not like.... The only downside were the filthy ceiling fan blades and the ripped Hot tub cover which had mold growing on it .
The top blanket has blood stains on it you can tell it has been washed but that was disturbing to see a big washed blood spot on the top blanket and the tv definitely doesn't work direct TV is a no go connected with phones still wouldn't work it's the location no internet but the main thing was that blood stain on the top blanket
Very clean and cute cabin for two people. Loved the rustic location. Hot tub was awesome. Bed was very comfortable. The only thing we would add is the cabin needs better lighting especially above the bathroom sink.
Everything was great! Except the wifi. But the weather was bad, lots of rain. Good thing that wasn't why we were there. Very private. We would stay here again which is the best compliment.
It was great having a space to stay with a pool table, hot tub, tv, and firepit. Two criticisms: they could use an extra blanket for the bed and more lighting for the lone mirror.
Loved the set up of the cabin it was very open. Also enjoyed the hot tub and beautiful view from the deck. The downstairs game room was an added plus as we enjoyed playing pool at night after our activities.
Dogwood cabin is the perfect mix of cozy and luxurious!
My husband and I booked Dogwood for three nights to celebrate our anniversary. The cabin was clean and welcoming when we arrived after our long drive in. Even though youâre in the middle of the woods (Hello view! Hello birdsong!), there is every luxury you could ask for. The king-sized bed is super comfortable, the towels are soft, the hot tub, the pool table, the fire pit - all awesome! Theyâve provided all the comforts you need to make your visit memorable and amazing!
The location was wonderful and the cabin was adorable. If you plan on staying inside just to relax and rest you should know you can feel the wood pieces on the couch at all times , the bedding feels like sheets It is so thin and you should probably bring your own pillows . I wiped the cabinets down myself There was so much grease on them over the stove and considering you wash the dishes yourself before you leave you can tell the guest before you are the ones that did it because they needed re-washed.
other than that it was perfectly adorable and cute and cozy.!! The host was kind and quick to respond.
I likes a lot of things. It was back enough to feel secluded. I loved the place especially the hot tub. The fire pit was great. I felt very safe there. The place said propane grill. lt was a pleasant surprise that it was not. I love using charcoal.
Pros: Secluded location. Nice fire pit. Cons: Hot tub needs repaired-missing jets, exposed filter, no chlorination (sitting under bathroom sink vs hot tub) severe rust stains. (we did not even attempt to get in).
Limited towels in cabin. Notified management of issue. Took 9 hours to resolve. Was told âsomeone would be byâ only to be told here is a code to the linen closet.
Dishes were dirty
Toilet needs repaired
Horrible lighting-one bulb in fixtures
Would spend your money elsewhere!
I normally donât write reviews, however, this needed to be addressed. I rented this cabin for a getaway to surprise my wife. The cleanliness of this property was unsatisfactory. The fan was absolutely covered in inches of dust and build up (right above the bed), there were cob webs in the corners and on the beams, the shower curtain had soap scum and stains all over it, the hot tub was disgusting (the water was foggy, the cover was rust and mold filled and it smelled bad.) We decided not to go into the hot tub which was unfortunate because we were looking forward to it. The WiFi did not work at all. And the worst part was there appeared to be blood stains on the comforter. We were very disappointed especially because this was a premier host, and the other reviews of this cabin were decent.
The property was laid out just as the pictures show. I originally had a silly question after booking my stay realizing that I didn't see a toilet in the pictures. I inquired about it and got a prompt response which was reassuring. The location is private, and the amenities were just as shown in the pictures. The hot tub worked perfectly and provided for a good warm up in the mornings. I would recommend driving a larger vehicle as we drove a Civic and had a little trouble getting uphill to where the property is located after the recent rain.
The Wi-Fi wasn't very fast, but we weren't necessarily there to browse the web all day. The information sent mentioned that there would be DirecTV and DVDs available. I was not able to figure out how to view the DirecTV channels and there were no DVDs, which is what led us to try watching movies via streaming services we have access to over the internet. There were a few outlets that didn't work well, and the main room upstairs could use another set of lights on the far side of the room, but the property was as depicted in the pictures and description.
This property is perfect for a weekend getaway for a set of adults wanting to find some seclusion. I would recommend this cabin and was very pleased with my stay.
I rarely write reviews but this stay required one. There should be a warning saying if you are not familiar with the area and property make sure you check in before dark. The one Lane road which youâre on for roughly two miles has no lights anywhere. NONE. Not to mention the road is gravel and dirt and in the woods and doesnât look like an actual road. Also the road is one lane however vehicles travel both ways but there is no way to tell if someone is coming which is super scary and something we encountered more than once. The car also got stuck a bit once because we were unable to see the ditch. The cabin itself was cute but everything was caked with dust that wasnât waist level such as the fan, the cupboards..etc. All food options are over 30mins away. The hot tub smelled awful and was super dirty which was sad because we were looking forward to that but were unable to take advantage of because of those reasons. I reached out to the property by phone and e-mail and still have heard nothing back.
