The condo could use some updating, but the point of this vacation was not to stay indoors so it worked out just fine. Communication was top notch, check in was easy. I would recommend. Another great stay at the Islander!

When thinking of where we wanted to take our summer vacation, it was an easy decision to book another rental at the Islander! The property location is right on beautiful white sand and water in a safe area for running and walking on beach or pavement. We like that all buildings are low rise max 7 stories) due to the proximity to the Air Force base. The property is well maintained and cared for with a nice pool area. Condo was clean with nice amenities. Our local restaurant favorites were Parlor donuts, The Gulf, Stewby’s, The Shack and Ali’s Bistro. Hope to vacation here again!

Beautiful Beach Condo

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was very clean on the surface and decorated nicely. However, we found candy wrappers in the couch bed and the sheets to the couch bed had crumbs on it when we arrived. Also, in the bedrooms there were items left in the drawers from previous occupants. The garbage disposal also did not work at all in the kitchen sink. Other than that the water and beach was beautiful and the condo was nice.

Wonderful stay, epic view!

The view from the 6th floor was absolutely stunning! We had a problem with the AC upon arrival and the maintenance staff was very quick to come fix it. Our kids loved the pool! We would definitely recommend the Islander and Brooks and Shorey!

Lovely view with bonus workout

It was pretty nasty so we picked up the glass and cleaned all the crumbs and sticky whatever up and put the glass back down. The condo lacked cookie sheet to bake biscuits and large bowl(used a pot) We were in 3 different Condo's. As for everything else in the Condo itself I have no complaints. The Condo, sheets and towels were clean.

Disappointing condo

We were very disappointed in our stay this year because the condo was very dirty. The furniture was so stained that it was unpleasant to sit on and the floors were filthy. Bedroom carpets were dirty, and there was a build up of dust on fans and bathroom fixtures. Slats missing on the vertical blinds had been stashed behind the sofa. Balcony furniture was stained and one of the high top chairs had a broken arm. The artwork was faded and the glass was dirty. It was also surprising that the balcony door had condensation between the panes leaving it so cloudy that you couldn’t really see clearly through it to enjoy the view. Appliances were fine, but kitchen was poorly stocked. Mismatched dishes, lack of coffee mugs, no storage containers, tongs, whisk, etc. We have rented condos in Ft. Walton many times in the past ten years and have never been so disappointed. We would have looked for another condo if we hadn’t already invested so much in this one.

Needs an update and a deep clean!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Enjoyed our stay however we will not be coming back to this condo. Our first night was spent cleaning the whole condo. Found a half ate brownie, a bottle of water and 2 empty cans of tobacco under the beds. The whole condo looked and felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The furniture is in terrible shape. The carpets are also in need of being replaced in the bedrooms. The only thing kind of nice was the updated floors in the main area. However, my family just goes with the flow and does what has to be done so we didn’t make it a big deal or let it ruin our trip.

The room with the twin beds had thick dust on the windowsil and fan. The furniture was very outdated and uncomfortable. The patio furniture was dirty and very poor furniture. I was so excited to be going on vacation somewhere different and immediately was very disappointed ad soon as I walked into the condo. I think I paid way too much for this condo.
