We had a great time at this rental, the best part was the location. You just cross the street and you’re at the beach! It’s also a short ten minute walk to the boardwalk. The layout perfectly accommodated our family, and we would stay here again!

Lovely location, plenty of space

We loved the location, quiet streets off the main block but close enough to walk in several times a day. Easy access to the beach. The house is amazing, with lots of space. Could use some updating of the decking material, but it can hold a lot of people and allows comfortable community space, and plenty of private space. Really enjoyed it.

Lovely Stay in Bethany Beach

The house was extremely well-located, only mintues from the beach and a short walk further to downtown Bethany, where there were many restaurants and amusements. As for the house itself, the main room was very spacious and provided many places to eat and relax. The five bedrooms and four bathrooms offered more than enough room for our extended family of 9, with a good assortment of sleeping arrangements. Generally, the stay was excellent and we would strongly consider staying there again for a future trip.

Great price for a practical home in an amazing location!

We really enjoyed our stay at 117th 4th St. The home is very practical and clean. It is just half a block from the beach! We took full advantage of this by taking morning and night walks on the beach, in addition to spending a good chunk of our time in the ocean. It is also walking distance from the boardwalk, restaurants and other amenities. Definitely recommend this property!

So close to the beach…

The main feature of this house is its proximity to the beach. Large enough to hold 2 families comfortably. The 5 bedrooms are a plus! The house is very dated inside, but the beds are comfortable, the bedrooms are SUPER quiet, and the house is well equipped. Stay here to be a 2 min walk to the beach.

Retro or dated: is in the eye of the beholder!

My family and I loved this home. The location is ideal. We felt like we were walking into the Brady Bunch house. We loved the retro feel. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Bonus for our dog was the great long hallway to play in. Our Frenchie felt very welcome with the blankets and games in the house.

6 day family beach trip

House was just as described online and perfect space for 4 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs. We had two extra bedrooms we could have used as needed. Easy to book and to check out; quiet, clean, 5 minute walk to beach, and bc we were in north Bethany at the end of June, the beach was not too crowded. Jeremy from itrip.net was quick to answer any questions. We were minutes from great restaurants on Rt.1 and a quick walk from Sussex beach where dogs were allowed before 10 am. Slight drawbacks were two crowded closets w in queen bedrooms with very limited space due to owners ‘ storage of large items in one and a hot water heater in the other, and there was no large porch for sitting. There was one small porch at the top of the house but it was only accessible by a spiral staircase. We would rent there again.

Anniversary and Family Trip

Booked a trip to celebrate wedding anniversary and first time at Bethany Beach. House was exactly what we needed for a group of six, that also allowed pets (dogs). Arrived early and was able to get in a little earlier than expected which was great. House was perfect and had more items available that what was noted on the pre-check in list. Proximity to both the beach and boardwalk was spot on. With the family and dogs, the trip was a resounding success. Even the tv was able to easily navigate, which is always a challenge when renting a home, normally with subscription type apps that require you to log in ( and not forget to log out). Overall a tremendous house, location and short family vacation for us. Will definitely book there again.

Sea Gull Century Weekend

We were there to ride in the Sea Gull Century bike ride. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the house. It served its purpose but was nothing special. It was very basic, utilitarian with dated furnishing. Our only real complaint was with the outdoor lighting. We had trouble getting the lights to come on and the stairs & under the house were very dark without them.

Great vacation home

Spacious home for a large family. It was easy to get in and out and to the beach or walk along the board walk. It would be nice to have some chairs on the rooftop as it is not very comfortable to just on the floor. the kids didn't mind, but for adults it is not great. Some of the silverware should be replaced as some of the knifes don't cut at all. Otherwise, it has been very pleasant and we enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Family fun at Bethany Beach

Our family of 10/12 had a perfect Bethany holiday - so much like we remembered 20 years ago - but now with grandkids, too! A wonderfully located beach house, on a quiet street just a block to the beach and just close enough to the shops and arcade (!!!big deal with this crowd) for the youngest to feel some freedom. This is a well thought out house, with a great layout. We loved the large common area with all the bedrooms down a separate hall in the rear. The house is furnished and stocked with everything we needed to make meals and play games inside, and with lots of parking and a pair of outdoor showers - very helpful considering the hours we spent at the beautiful, broad beach. We look forward to returning to this very spot!

Great house - great week!

We had a great week at this house. The location is great - you can't beat the short walk to the beach, and we were still close to the shops. It appears that things have been updated a bit since the photos in the listing and the house was very comfortable. There were plenty of dishes, silverware, and cookware for our family. We did have an issue when we arrived and there no longer was a pull-out queen sofa bed in the den (different furniture than the picture). However, Jeremy from Delaware Vacation Property Management answered my call on the first ring and was extremely helpful. I explained the problem and he said he would see what he could do. Within 20 minutes he texted that cots would be delivered within the hour - and they were. You have to be careful if you go up to the roof deck because you have to duck under a part of the roof that hangs over, and we never figured out how to get the water temperature in the outdoor shower below scalding, but overall we loved the house and would definitely return in the future.

A lovely week at 117 Fourth St.

The house was lovely and spacious in an absolutely optimal location. Every imaginable accommodation was there. Easy walk to the beach, boardwalk, shops, and restaurants in quiet Bethany!! The end of the beach we were on was not at all crowded in spite of peak season. It is hard to envision a more restful time. Nice touches included spacious driveway, one outside shower with a excellent water flow and shower head as well as private separate shower and dressing space, and a coded locking-unlocking door system eliminating the need for keys. As a former owner of a rental house at the shore, I have a few gentle suggestions: The queen mattress in the second bedroom (not the master) desperately needs replacement. The person who initially chose this room was not able to stay there. The door stop on the front door is broken. I believe we paid for linen service in the contract but were instructed at the last minute to bring our own linens which we did. A bit of a surprise. First shower outside had almost no water flow - an inconvenience to the first (and last) user.

Very Disappointed, poorly maintained rental

We had communicated to the manager well ahead of our stay of our concerns with previous reviews pointing out to AC not keeping the house cool He assured me that the owner had the AC serviced this spring. We arrived and the house was 85degrees. My husband quickly found that the filter to the intake was covered in one to two inch dust and the grill was also covered in dust WE replaced filter and proceeded to cover windows with blankets that faced the setting sun, because the cheap bamboo shades did not provide any coverage. Two shower heads were missing. Lamps were old and not working. My husband had to tighten and fix The main track lighting to dining and kitchen had to be adjusted by my husband on a ladder so the bulbs worked. Renters beware, this house is dated and not maintained

These are gross exaggerations. The air filter was one month old. There were showerheads on the showers - they are small and the customer has never seen anything like them. All the lamps were working when they arrived. The photographs of the home are accurate and the customer had every opportunity to understand that the value of the home is primarily its location. Everything in the home works and it is maintained. See all the other many reviews for happy customers.

Good location, sub par property

The location of this rental home is great; however the house and leaves much to be desired. Upon arrival on a Saturday we were informed that the dishwasher was broken - A rep from "Appliance Dr." was sent out on Tuesday evening and informed us that the dishwasher motor was broken and could not be fixed because he didn't have the part. With 10 people we were not happy to have to wash dishes by hand the entire trip. Additional items of note, which sent to our property manager during the stay: * several light bulbs out in main living area- we found some extra bulbs in utility closet and replaced the lights we could reach without a ladder * dryer was not drying well- upon inspection we discovered that the lint filter visible below the house was completely clogged- this was very concerning as it is a fire hazard! We cleaned the filter. * fridge light bulb burnt out, water leaking in fridge * washer off balance- very loud when running * beds very lumpy / uncomfortable * sink drain stopper stopped working in one bathroom * spiral stair steps and railing loose and rusty, concerned with structural integrity * outdoor porch railing wobbly which I noticed due to our elderly guest leaning on it Overall very disappointed by the state of the property and lack of upkeep. We decided to leave a day early.

Fantastic location!

Walk to the beach! Was great to bring our dogs. Lots of space inside and out! Kitchen well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, gadgets and appliances. Good internet and Dish TV. Maybe because we were the last people to rent this season (last week of September), the place is in need of some TLC – deep cleaning and deck/railing repairs. Also, the living area/kitchen/den got extremely warm (80+) every afternoon. But overall we enjoyed it very much.

Pros: Great location 1 block from clean and quiet guarded ocean beach. Plenty of room for extended family. Nice rooftop deck. But be careful, spiral staircase too open and children can fall through railing. Cons: Cleanliness of house. Cleaner hadn’t dusted, outdoor garbage cans and recycling were chock full even though garbage was supposed to be picked up the day before. Trash in kitchen trash can. Someone’s dirty underwear in yard, yard weedy and overgrown, especially in back. Back stair railing very loose (contacted property manager about cleanliness and railing safety).

Problems

The beds are uncomfortable with layers of foam which does not help with comfort. One bed collapsed because the slats were rotted and broke. Ice maker did not work and only 2 cube trays were available, so we had to make ice continuously. The a/c broke, but the property manager responded very quickly. In the bathrooms, there was nothing to hang on to when taking a shower or bath, which was rather unsafe for aged family

Great location

The proximity to the beach and to the town of Bethany are the best part of staying here. The home itself has a central combined family room, kitchen, dining area, with high pitched roof and ceiling fan. It is a great room to gather for family dinners, movies and games. There are 5 bedrooms 4 bathrooms and 2 outdoor showers which provides plenty of individual space for 2 families of 5. The roof deck is also a fun place to hang after the beach. Allowing pets was an added perk so we didn’t need to leave them at home. We had to call them because the dryer was not working and they responded quickly, not only did they buy and install a new dryer they also offered us free activity tickets for our inconvenience. Kudos for the prompt customer service. There were many utensils , blenders and 2 coffee makers. No shortage of bowls, pots pans and dishes, but not a lot of spare room for groceries. All in all a great vacation, comfortable house, convenient and accommodating. We would return again and do recommend this property and management.
