Welcome to The Waynesville Gem, managed by Carolina Mountain Vacation Homes — serving guests in Maggie Valley and Waynesville since the early 1990s.

The Waynesville Gem is a spacious mountain home with long-range views, modern amenities, and space for family and friends. Located at over 3,000 feet in elevation and just minutes from downtown Waynesville and Maggie Valley, guests can enjoy cool mountain air and sunsets from two large back decks.

We LOVE this cabin and this location. We have stayed here 3 times and it is always wonderful. Cabin is well stocked with kitchen items and has alot of space and beautiful view. We stayed for two weeks and would definitely rent this cabin again if they don't keep raising the prices. We skipped last year because of price and rented elsewhere and returned this year when the price came back down.

Lovely home for a relaxing getaway

Home was perfect location for a relaxing getaway. Elevation was high enough for privacy and nice long range views, and we found the short drive up the mountain was very manageable. Home was nicely decorated with a well stocked kitchen. Living room was well furnished with clean and very comfortable seating (something we greatly appreciate whether we're watching tv or just enjoying the fireplace). Easy drive to the quaint town of Waynesville and not too far from the interstate when we wanted to go to AVL. Overall, a great stay!

The Best!

This cabin has a great layout and great location! It was clean and the check in was easy! The downstairs works so well for the kids. The porch was a perfect place for us to hangout. The open floor plan is comfortable and allows for everyone to be together whether watching tv or in the kitchen or working on puzzles. We have stayed here twice and would definitely book again!

Amazing view!

We were in NC for our daughter’s wedding and this was the perfect place to soak in the mountain views with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. You would never need to leave the porch!

Spacious and quiet place for families

This home was described accurately and was very well appointed. There was very little we found ourselves looking for during our stay. The proerty management team was very responsive. We left feedback for the owners that was very minimal and would recommend this properly for anyone looking to be tucked away from the bustle of the towns and a quiet place to relax. Plenty of towels, linens, and homey amenities. Hot tub was a huge plus with the cold weather during our stay. Drive up and down to the property was not terribly challenging. We had ladybug visitors that did not bother us, but as this is a mountain side property it’s expected to have little visitors from time to time.

Perfect for a family getaway! The house met our expectations! Especially, the location.

We mostly explored. The Blue Ridge Parkway was amazing. We chased waterfalls and enjoyed hiking. We got to enjoy both winter and spring with 70 degrees weather to snow flurries. The house was totally equipped with all our needs.

Great Fall getaway

We were blessed to stay right at the start of the Fall color season. We really enjoyed the stunning morning mountain view with a good cup of coffee on the large deck. This cabin was a convenient drive to Maggie Valley and Waynesville with never more than 10 minutes or so to restaurants or attractions, while still feelin secluded on the mountain. This is definitely on our list of places we want to stay again!

Beautiful Views

The house was gorgeous and well furnished, and the views are amazing. The road to the house was steep and narrow but overall pretty manageable. The only downside of our stay was the extensive amount of cleaning expected when we already paid a substantial cleaning fee (laundry, dishes, hauling trash to the dump or paying an additional fee).

So Comfy for a Group

We arrived to find the property just as we expected. Everything was ready and inviting. (Note that the bed in the room with bunk beds is a full and didn’t sleep 2 adults but we made it work.) We did have a short term problem with the refrigerator and we’re very impressed that the property manager, Melissa, took care of it very efficiently. Thank you! Our stay was so much fun!

Amazing!!

UbicaciĂłn hasta arriba de la montaña, aislados que nos encantĂł y con muy fĂĄcil acceso al pueblo Waynesville. Todo muy limpio y cuidado. Con jacuzzi, mesa de ping pong, futbolito, grill y para hacer fogata. Ideal para adolescentes!! La vista espectacular! SĂșper recomendado!!

We enjoyed staying at this beautiful cabin with awesome mountain views. The kitchen was well supplied, and layout was perfect for multiple "chefs". The interior of the cabin was charming, and both porches were very large and had magnificent views. We would love to stay here again.

It’s has sweeping long range views that were enjoyed both day and night. The fire pit area was super cool- s’mores were enjoyed almost nightly! The furnishings were comfortable and accommodating- I just wouldn’t change anything about this place. Waynesville is just down the street. Asheville is about 30 mins away. Super dog friendly- my doodles loved playing in the yard leaves! It was just awesome. Truly. I will absolutely be coming back to this place next season. You couldn’t keep me away if you tried! Excellent location- Private but close to everything

Property was very clean and plenty of space and amenities. all in good working order. This was our second time staying at this cabin because we .liked it so much the first time., which we had never done before. The only thing that had changed was that they got rid of Direct TV in favor of streaming and I did not like not having local news and weather channels, but a minor issue as we did not spend a lot of time watching TV. Great location to most highways to get to most of the things we wanted to do which were all in reasonable proximity to the cabin. Would stay here again except the price has gone up significantly making it cost-prohibitive for our small group. Would be good cabin for more family to share.
