Modern cozy lakeview retreat for 6 close to hiking, Sewanee, and the Caverns

Sommarstuga is a Scandinavian-inspired modern lakeview retreat near everything the South Cumberland region has to offer! Only 90 minutes from Nashville and 45 minutes from Chattanooga - perfect for a quick getaway or a longer stay. Whether you're hiking the Fiery Gizzard, catching a show at The Caverns, visiting Sewanee, or spending time at Coalmont OHV Park, Sommarstuga provides a comfortable, convenient, and relaxing space for your stay.

With four comfortable beds (one queen in each bedroom and two twins in the full-height loft) and two bathrooms, the home offers room for a larger or extended family. The dining table seats six, and the kitchen is fully equipped for larger gatherings and meals.

The house offers an excellent high-speed internet connection for streaming services and business needs. A level 2 electric vehicle charging unit (J1772 connector) is conveniently located in the parking area.

Our driveway can accommodate up to 2 trucks with trailers, although it is a close fit. Please reach out if you have any questions about parking capacity!

Please note that we utilize a doorbell camera at this property. We use this only to monitor for safety issues or if we suspect that a house rule, such as occupancy, is being violated. There are no other cameras on the property.

Just wrapped up our stay at this perfect home on the lake. It was exactly as listed and even better in person. We enjoyed being able to relax and get away from the chaos of this time of year for a couple of days. And we even had a little snow while we were there! Valerie was amazing to work with. She is very communicative and answered any and all questions quickly, and is so very accommodating. We will definitely be booking again!

The house was very clean and nice. It needsBlinds or curtains on the doors though. That was the only issue as the passing cars could see into the house very clearly and parking was a little tight for trucks with trailers. Other than that, this was a very nice place to stay.

Heavenly retreat

This place was immaculate. Great high quality appliance and amenities, even the toilet paper and bedding! The host thought of everything when it came to entertainment (games,movies, books) the entire community is gorgeous to walk around and enjoy the view on the morning jog. It’s located high in the mountains and although we prepared pretty well with groceries and wine we still had to go to town to get a few things. If this happens to you I recommend the family dollar instead of the “supermarkets”. We drove to jasper and Chattanooga for dinner and lunch. A great place just 20 min away is AJ’s deli where I was pleased to enjoy a New York style muffaleta sandwich, my family enjoyed their Italian subs and gyro aswell. This a great peaceful place for an escape

Great Stay for a show at Th Caverns

Our group had an excellent stay at the lake house! It was close to the Caverns which was also an amazing time. We would definitely return and stay for another show!

This way a family visit. I was able to spend time with my son and Keep my grandsons. Love the water. Grandson loved fishing of the public docks. He got 5 small bass.

The cabin and surroundings made for a wonderful, romantic mini-vacay for my husband and I. I highly recommend this cabin if you plan to stay in the Tracy City/Monteagle, TN area!

We wanted somewhere quiet and peaceful. This are is both. No one was around and we got to use the public dock access.The hiking was great and lots of family photos and memories.

Springtime Stay

Absolutely perfect little rental. The house was excellently appointed and comfortable. This will be a return spot for us to any visit to Swanee region. The deck and fire pit were wonderful additions to our outdoor experience overlooking the lake. The host was seamless at managing the booking and stay experience.

What an adorable tiny home in a great location overlooking a pretty lake. Close to wonderful waterfall hikes and good local restaurants. Very clean and lots of light. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

Perfect retreat

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend here. We had everything needed for a cozy cold weather retreat. I especially enjoyed the living room area which was a great place to read and knit while enjoying my morning coffee. We enjoyed cooking and sharing meals in the spacious kitchen as well. Thank you for sharing this great property with us. We look forward to returning in the near future.
