Welcome to Shenandoah Sanctuary, a serene log cabin in Virginia's picturesque mountains. Ideal for nature lovers and families seeking adventure. Enjoy wildlife, mountain views, and the nearby Conway River. Discover the Monticello Wine Trail and Blue Ridge Whiskey Wine Loop for tastings. Unwind by admiring the deck's panoramic views or next to the fire pit roasting marshmallows with family and friends. Inside, find modern amenities, cozy bedrooms, and two bathrooms. Make memories at this Virginia mountain retreat. The nearest entrance to Shenandoah National Park is at Swift Run Gap 27 minutes from the cabin. We love to get breakfast and coffee in downtown Standardsville at Maybelle's on Main then it is only a 13 minute drive to the entrance.
We had an amazing stay at the Shenandoah Sanctuary. Check-in and check-out were very easy, and the host was very helpful in working though a bit of confusion we had around the wi-fi on our first day. The cabin itself is well equipped and comfortable, and the location is peaceful with only one very quiet neighbor in sight. The outdoor spaces are also very enjoyable, and the location is perfect being a short drive from all the needed amenities and also from the park entry gate. Best of all, we were able to bring our dogs, and they felt immediately at home there. Definately a 5 star stay.
Peaceful, quiet location but slightly desolate; felt like we were in the woods. Host was gracious and communicated well. Place was clean and well stocked. The only con was that the internet was very patchy, but then the entire Shenandoah didnât really have internet access, so may be common for that area.
The photos of this property did not do it justice! Itâs absolutely a stunning, picturesque location and the perfect place to unwind and get away from it all. My family from the UK had the best time hanging out at the cabin. We were close to fishing, hiking and skyline drive so managed to get lots done in a short amount of time. Walmart was only 20mins-ish away so we could stock up on supplies if needed. The hosts thought of absolutely everything you could need and more. I was really impressed with the cabin as a whole. We made sâmores, stargazed and enjoyed the quiet location.
Enjoyed everything about this place! Spectacularly clean. Comfy beds. Great gathering spaces indoors and out. Close to everything in the region. Fabulous evenings at the fire pit after grilled dinners in the deck. Completely hassle free entry. Everything works. Exactly as pictured/described !!
We very much enjoyed staying here for our Shenandoah adventure. The house is in an inviting wooded area, pretty secluded, but within half an hour we were in the park. We were able to watch the sunset at Point Overlook, then come back and roast marshmallows, watch fireflies (nonexistent where we live), and see the stars. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, which we appreciate, as we enjoy being able to cook a bit and prepare lunches. Highly recommend!
We spent a wonderful relaxing week at the Shenandoah Sanctuary. The property was clean and well stocked with everything you need. Itâs central location made exploring the Shenandoah Park and other attractions very manageable.
Communications were great, and they made sure we knew what we needed for the stay. The place was clean and had plenty of linens and towels for our use. I do think that if you have a small car you will have trouble getting in to the site, especially if there's bad weather. I needed to put my truck into 4-Wheel drive a couple of times.
Beautiful location, quiet and peaceful. Nearby Stanardsville is a quaint small town. The cabin was perfect for our family rendezvous. Will probably book again in the future sometime.
This cabin is a wooden retreat near many things to do in nature and nearby Charlottesville. We hiked in the Shenandoah National Park, played board games in quiet of our cabin, cooked pancakes and enjoyed shopping nearby. Wish we could've stayed longer.
We enjoyed our time at the Shenandoah Sanctuary. We wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle and this was the perfect place. Great place to relax, read a book, sit around the fire, enjoy stargazing and spend time with family and friends. A short 30 minute trip to Shenandoah NP and 45 min to Charlottesville. Would definitely recommend staying here!
We enjoyed our overnight stay at this charming cabin so much, we all wished we would have booked it for two nights!
The hosts were quick to reply to questions via email, too.
