Located in the Vibrant Historic Grandin Village. This brick home was built in 1918. It is perfect for short term leasing for business professionals or traveling nurses. Downtown and all hospitals: Carilion, Lewis Gale and Veterans Affairs are located less than 10 minutes away. The house has been recently updated, but still has its classic charm. New kitchen, bathroom, freshly painted, and windows throughout. The apartment is entirely yours. Treat the place as it's your own and enjoy!
Although the seating and the bed were comfortable the restoration of the house is adequate. There was a very nice shower but the sink is one that turns on automatically which makes it awkward when you're brushing your teeth or anything. The kitchen has not really been upgraded except for the appliances. It was lovely to be able to walk the nearby restaurants and grocery store. And we could walk to the trail along the river. That was very nice.
The apartment is in an old house. There have been some updates but nothing too crazy. It was clean and the location was great for walking to restaurants, little shops, bars or the park. Working with Irene was easy. She was quick to answer my questions.
The location is perfect! Irene was great to work with, though somewhat slow to respond. The listing is a little misleading. A/C is a window unit in one room of four (not the bedroom). Regarding other reviews, the bed is the most comfortable piece of furniture, but all are supported by plywood (bed included), there is no where comfortable to sit. With a few additions this could be perfect (and garner higher rent). Remodels are in progress but do not adversely affect anything. It served our purposes, but had we known these details, we may have chosen comfort over location.
This neighborhood was great! Wallable to almost everything we wanted to do. Downtown and The Star were just a short drive away. Irene was great when VRBO accidentally sent us to her other property. She sorted it out quickly for us and we were in our apartment quickly.the apartment was very clean and had everything we needed.
My Family and I are from the Roanoke area. I was born in Greece (one of my favorite parts of the World) and lived in the Pittsburgh area before marrying and moving to Roanoke. I worked in the financial services sector and then one day I had a mid life crisis. With the help of my Family we opened a Bistro/restaurant in Roanoke that we ran for 17 years. I am now semi retired and run a small catering business and help with our property management business. We Love to Travel (especially to Greece) and I love to cook and entertain. I truly enjoy hosting our properties and showing off the Roanoke valley and all that it has to offer.
Grandin Village is a vibrant community that you can easily walk too from the apartments. You will see people walking with their children or pets and everyone is very friendly. There are many small mom and pop restaurants and shops including the Grandin Theatre, Farmers market (Saturdays), The Roanoke Greenway and Black Dog Salvage. To me this is what a small community should be all about.
