Unique Cheyenne Canyon Casita near Broadmoor Hotel
Located in the Broadmoor Hotel's backyard.... the Humming Bird house was specifically designed for one thing: for everyone to enjoy the beauty that is Cheyenne Canyon. We are a stones throw from hiking and biking trails such at Red Rock Canyon, Stratton open space, 7 Falls and countless others. Just across the street is a wonderful cafe that you can grab coffee & brunch or even a glass of wine and live music! But If you seek to see COS, we are mins from 1-25, Downtown COS and Manitou.
The Hummingbird House is a small over garage apartment packed with large character. The vintage decor is a throwback to the good âol days. The original hardwood floors do creek but that is just a fact of life for older hardwood floors. The cozy patio offers a quiet sitting area to observe nature at your fingertips. Excellent view of The Shrine of the Sun atop Cheyenne Mountain and its hourly bell tolls can be heard clearly. The sound of the flowing creek is very calming. Peaceful and quiet at night. Apartment offers comfortable living room with large screen smart tv, small kitchen with essential basics, stackable washer/dryer unit and laundry supplies, cute bathroom stocked with lots of new white cotton towels and the most comfortable bed that I have ever experienced in a vacation rental. Make use of the available backpack, water bottles and sunscreen to take an impromptu hike right out the front gate of the property. Breakfast and lunch is available everyday except Monday at the Sacred Ground Cafe that is only a two minute walk. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Seven Falls is minutes away. Excellent communication with host, Krista and easy check-in/check-out. Will definitely return!
Nicely adorned place with an awesome mural painted on wall. Host was very helpful, friendly and accommodating! No onerous chores at checkout. Has a rustic, crafty feel, yet nice amenities like a full kitchen (with cooking staples), washer and dryer and smart tv. Great location, within walking distance of 7-falls, the visitor center and biking. Highly recommended to place to stay!
My daughters and I stayed from a week visiting family near the Broadmoor. We arrived late at night and the house was on a partially lit street but the description as to how to find was fantastic and very detailed so we found it easily. The house was decorated so cute and felt so homey with fluffy blankets and comfortable beds.
The host thought of everything including hiking backpacks, water bottles and ice chests since itâs so close to lots of hiking trails and a fully equipped kitchen if you would rather cook than eat out. Our favorite part was the covered porch with a hummingbird feeder where the tiny little hummingbirds would come and visit us in the afternoon when we enjoying the sunset.
We will absolutely stay at the hummingbird house for our next visit to the Springs. We absolutely loved it!
