Lovely Spot and View

It was a great spot to stay and a gorgeous view of the Fall colors. The outdoor fireplace was nice too. The condo was lovely for our small group of four with plenty of room. Definitely a great place to stay.

Wonderful week!

We had such a wonderful stay at this property. I didn’t know too much about Michigan and where things were so I was a bit hesitant booking anything. This was the perfect spot!! We went to mackinaw island for two days and then drove the two hrs south to stay here for the week and we were able to visit bear sand dunes, torch lake, all the wineries within the week. I also thought being in a golf/ski area we would be further from town but there’s a grocery store right by less than 5 minutes and a cute little town! Walking the grounds was great with all the beautiful trees. The fire pit was the best part and we hung in the backyard and watched the sunset most nights. The walk from parking lot to door isn’t bad at all, it’s worth it to be at the end in a secluded area with a beautiful hang out spot outside, I definitely recommend this place! Comfy bed, kitchen had everything we needed to cook, very clean!

Awesome condo in beautiful Shanty Creek

We had a wonderful stay here in August 2024! The condo was modern, spacious and clean with several amenities within walking distance at the Shanty Creek hotel. The views were beautiful and the beds were comfy. We really enjoyed our stay!

Nice but, not exactly private.

We booked this location to stay near Torch Lake for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our communication with the property owner was great. He was quick to reply. We had no control over the thermostat and had to contact Dale to make adjustments remotely. The place was clean and we appreciated having cleaning supplies and plenty of dishes. As for the privacy, we did have a few porches to sit on. One was small off of the double bed bedroom. It had a lot of leaves and spiders so we didn't really use it. The big porch with the grill, fire feature and tables and chairs was really nice. The only issue there was the balcony right above it. There were several people staying above us and they used that balcony a lot. So, when we were on that back porch, they were constantly sitting right above us watching and listening. No fault of theirs, of course. It just didn't really offer the privacy we had hoped for. The third porch area had a balcony above it and a very short walk to the porch directly next to us. We just sorta felt surrounded by people. The bed was comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were also nice and clean. I also enjoyed the views from our room that overlooked an old ski lift valley as well as the rolling hills. .

Forever Chasing Michigan Sunsets

We have stayed at Shanty Creek before & knew we loved the area. The patio space is what drew me to this beautiful condo! It's AMAZING!! We spent a lot of time in the evening enjoying the beautiful night sky and cool breeze, making s'mores, & playing games with our kids. You will read in previous reviews that it is an end unit & a bit of a walk. It's doable for an active adult & better than I was anticipating. We did have a wagon to help bring items in, but there are a few sets of steps. The controlled temperature setting did not affect us & the condo was comfortable. I'm sure if it was an issue, it would easily be addressed with the manager. When we arrived, our code did not work to get in; however, the backup code worked, and we had no issues getting in. We easily could have continued with backup code, but I sent a message & it was fixed by next morning. We also could not find the iron & there was a knock on our door in less than 10 minutes with a new iron after notifying property manager. Loved that this unit had a washer & dryer. Future recommendations (not deal breakers): more towels for shower & kitchen (we washed ours every other day & I'm sure we could have received more if we asked), added curtain panels to the 2-bed room to fully cover the doors at night, curtain panel added to big window in other bedroom to block out light if desired. Loved this beautiful condo and would stay again!

Great Stay

We had a great stay! Enjoyed grilling in the outdoor space after eating out most other nights. My mother was vacationing with us and we couldn't adjust the temperature due to it being locked out. We arrived on a Saturday evening to zero parking availability. Multiple people trying to find parking. We ended up semi parking into loading/unloading zone. When we went out Sunday morning, parking lot had emptied out. We use vrbo often and other condo rentals have designated parking for each unit. There was not enough linen for our party of six but made do. All of these are minor and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Views

We loved staying in this unit, was located close to the places we wanted to be. The oversized balcony was a bonus that we all enjoyed. The unit was clean and well stocked (we did feel there could have been more towels) We were able to use the elec grill and the fire pit. We had a wonderful stay and would like to book this unit again in the future!

Nice Home Base For Vacation

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and thought the condo was clean and comfy. There were plenty of dishes and silverware, but oddly no extra trash bags besides the single bag in the bin. Loved the Keurig and the grill, and the patio fire bowl was lovely. If you need extra blankets, you will want to bring your own. It was cooler the week we stayed and there was no adjusting the thermostat (which I understand). The en-suite laundry was a nice bonus. The pool access was a huge plus! The outdoor pool was very nice and the indoor pool/hot tub was great on a rainy day. There were a few minor “issues” that you may want to consider but they were not game changers. First, we thought it was odd that all the windows had blackout curtains except the main window in the master bedroom, which only had blinds that didn’t block much light. Personally, I do not like waking up at sunrise on vacation and I can’t imagine how much brighter it is in the winter with the snow reflection. Second, we were lucky enough not to have upstairs neighbors until the last day of our trip. That said, you hear every single footstep, and if they have small children it sounds like a WWE wrestling match overhead. Third, we had issues with hot water availability. There were only four of us (2 kids, 2 adults), and not all of us showered at the same time every day, however we kept running out of hot water. Our tank at home is not much bigger and we never have that at home. Not major issues and we enjoyed our stay.

Great property!

The condo was booked to attend a local family celebration and not to ski. GPS directions took us directly to the parking lot. The Owner’s communication received was excellent and provided the necessary detail to gain entry. We arrived later in the evening and there was sufficient lighting for us to locate the condo. Keep in mind, if there are elderly, this is the end unit and it is a little bit of a walk from the parking lot with a few set of stairs. Can be a challenge with larger luggage, but very safe and we had no issues navigating. The thermostat is locked and we were a bit chilly in the evening, but that’s no a reflection on the owner as I am sure if I would have contacted them, they would have assisted. That is on me and not the owner. The condo was exactly as advertised and VERY clean and comfortable. We all said, we would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect with restaurants on property and beautiful views. Don’t hesitate in booking this wonderful condo even if you are not a skier.

Great condo at Trappers!

The Condo was clean, updated, owner was responsive. This is an end unit that has a nice outdoor deck space that we didn't use as it was winter but very pretty setting. Walking distance to the village shops & hotel. Lots of space& wall hooks to hang ski gear, it's the details that make it so functional. Would definitely stay again.

Snowy weekend

Came up to spend some time with our adult boys. Worked perfect, nice location and with all the snow it was an easy walk to get pizza after a day of skiing. Best sleep in a long time. Would come back again

Great Weekend Getaway

In Bellaire for a conference at Shanty Creek Lakeview hotel. Perfect location, short walk to the hotel/conference center. The condo was well kept and updated. Very nice deck with great view. Didnt get a chance to use the firepit because it rained most of the weekend but it was nice to have the option to use it. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Would stay here again!

Relaxing stay with a beautiful view.

We enjoyed our visit in this spacious, quiet, nicely decorated condo. Our goals were to enjoy the fall colors, watch some football on tv, and dine at some great local restaurants. We would be happy to stay here again!

Great place to stay.

We booked this condo for the week of September 22nd - 29th based on the description and guest ratings on VRBO. Both very accurate. The place was exactly as described and in my opinion is the best condo available in this complex. Walking distance to The Shanty Bar and Sarducci’s Italian restaurant if you don’t want to drive for an evening out. And I do mean “walking distance”. It’s literally about 100 yards away. There is outdoor seating if the weather is nice and they had live entertainment in the evenings. The condo itself was great. Plenty of room with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. A nice wood burning fireplace in the living room that we did not use. But we did use the gas fire pit on the back deck on a couple of nights to enjoy the night sky and a few cocktails. The deck is what really set this condo apart from all the others in this complex. It’s located at the very end of the complex and has a full wraparound deck connecting the living room balcony to the rear deck. Plenty of seating and a nice Weber grill for cooking a couple of steaks or whatever you like. Located at the top of the slopes, it’s a true ski in ski out location in season. We used the place a base for exploring the Antrim Chain of Lakes area and day trips to Traverse City, Charlevoix and Petoskey. All a short drive of less than an hour from the property. About 2 mile or so from the town of Bellaire where there is additional restaurants, shops and groceries. And thanks again to Dale, the host, for all his help.
