More about the house: The home does not have AC but the house is a split level so the bedrooms stay cooler as they are on the lower level. All of the bedrooms have ceiling fans. There are 3 bedrooms in total. The main bedroom has a memory foam queen bed. The second bedroom has a full size bed and the third bedroom has a twin bed. There is WIFI available in the house which you should use as cell reception is poor this far north. Once you log into the WIFI you should not have any issues making calls. There's a TV in the living room and and in each bedroom. They are Roku Smart TV's so you are able to log into your own streaming services of choice. We do not have cable or dish but we do have a Blueray player and movies to watch. Old fashioned movie night!
More about the area: At the end of the street you'll find Lake Esau Park. There are swings for the kids to play on or you can just relax on the bench and look out at the lake. If you want a more of a swimming and lounging beach, take a quick drive to Presque Isle Harbor Beach just a few minutes up the road. Across from the beach is an ice cream shop that also checks out bicycles for free and rents out kayaks. A little further up from the beach are the two Presque Isle light houses where you can visit the old keeper's house, walk down by the beach, or climb to the top for some amazing views.
Lovely property with all the necessities. We saw many animals on our stay; bald eagles, dear, toads and a porcupine. We had a very relaxing stay and would definitely stay again. It was a perfect trip for kids and adults.
We stayed for a few days to visit with our family in the area and we hardly left the house because it was so comfortable and fun with the games, tv, kitchen, and fireplace! Would definitely recommend and would stay again!
We had a great time at the Red Chalet. The location and privacy was perfect. We loved all the amenities and felt very comfortable. Thanks for the great stay!
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The chalet was as described. If you're looking for a quiet getaway, away from all the hustle and bustle, this is it. There is not much around for stores/shops but lots of beautiful trails and beaches and a couple lighthouses to check out.
Great location in Presque Isle. House was a quick 5 minute walk to lake Esau where you can enjoy swimming /kayaking on a beautiful lake. Had all the amenities needed for a nice quiet getaway. We will be looking to book again when we make our way back up to the area later this year.
Very nicely appointed home with everything needed. Definitely a beautiful cabin in a lovely area that is peaceful. Much thought put into amenities even down to a basket of beach towels.
We were impressed with chalet as it was very well decorated and kept. Our hosts gave attention to details that made the experience even better. There were games, books, movies, basic kitchen supplies, towels, and helpful resources to acquaint us with the area. We enjoyed our stay very much. The location was great as we enjoyed time in Mackinac Island, Alpena, Petoskey, Whitefish Point, 40 Mile Point Lighthouse and more.
The photos were insightful to see the property and surroundings. The host was absolutely wonderful and answered all of my questions. We enjoyed taking nature walks around the property, playing games indoor as a family and relaxing on the deck. This is a beautiful and unique home and we enjoyed our stay very much. We would recommend to other families!
We enjoyed our stay. After checking out and got home only to find I had left my glasses at the house.
The property Owner contacted the cleaning service and they helped return my spectacles to me! That was over and above all others. Thank for accommodating us and simply helping me out.
Very much appreciate the extra effort!
The little red chalet was the perfect choice for visiting this area for the first time-we usually camp but decided this time to make it a little easier on us-this place turned out to be the perfect mix-the accommodations had everything you might possibly need and with the great outdoor space in back we easily got our camping fix! Checking in and out was a breeze and Kate was there for any questions or concerns we might have-I do have a couple suggestions that might be helpful thoughâŠpossibly moving the wifi router more towards the back of the house would help with getting a better signal back by the fire pit and maybe address the sulfur smell from the hot water heater-that doesnât bother me a bit but my sister really struggled with itđŹ The cleanliness and perfectness of the house is what gives it a 5 star rating-I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in this area!
