The Sutton House 2 blocks from Main Street & Courthouse Square
Enjoy this beautiful Victorian built in 1915. Minutes away from the many state parks as well as restaurants, coffee shop and Shepherd Mountain Bike Park. Located at the south base of shepherd mountain. Walking distance to Main Street and all activities happening in town. Enjoy the spacious patio with fire pit and grill. Mornings with coffee on the wrap around porch are canât miss. Large yard for your enjoyment. We live close by and offer transportation to and from the train station
Perfect location for all the nearby state parks. Bedrooms are generous sized areas so individuals could have some down-time in their own area if they wished. We loved it and would stay again.
The Sutton House was the perfect place to stay after a full day on the Black River. The house was huge and so clean! The owner had quick communication and there were so many wonderful little extras. The house is extremely well stocked! We did not need to bring anything or do anything. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a place to stay in this area.
This house was even better in person, they thought of everything to make your stay so comfortable and easy. The house is so beautiful, down to every small detail. We cannot wait to stay here again!! The owners are so nice and accommodating. And they even have a non profit store a few blocks from the house. I would highly recommend this house to anyone. Thank you so much!!
We were there to take care of some final details after the death of a relative. The house was very comfortable, great location to our relativeâs home and very close to great eating options. There had been a water issue at the plant so the town was under a boil order, our host was most accommodating making sure we had plenty of bottled water to make our stay stressless. Thank you for a calm, comfortable place to stay while we dealt with family matters.
Great location, easy to get to several of the state parks and attractions. So much to do in this area! The house was very clean and really charming, beautiful kitchen renovation and great outdoor area with fire pit. The owners were very communicative and friendly. Great place to stay!
Tina was wonderful!! We had a mixup with Vrbo and she helped us work through it. The house itself was clean with very comfortable beds all in an excellent location. We look forward to visiting again!
This was a great option if youâre staying in the area. Great communication with the owner, all the appointments you need. Great (very very small) town but again all you need. Be sure to get coffee from Acadia and Mexican at el Checoâs. Only thing Iâd note is the upstairs bathroom is bathtub only which is clearly called out in the description but just want to be sure folks saw that. Highly recommended if youâre needing a great place in Ironton.
Stayed at the Sutton House while in town for a wedding at the Arcadia Academy. Plenty of room for the whole family.
Host Tina was very responsive to every question and checked on us to make sure everything was perfect.
Thank you.
We came with another family and stayed at the beautiful Sutton home for Father's day weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, had everything we needed, plenty of space, and there was great communication with the host. All the kids asked if we can come back again and stay at the same house sometime!
My family if adult children had an amazing week here. The property is very beautiful and well kept. It was sticked wit everything we needed. Thank you for a great time.
We brought our four granddaughters to Ironton for part of our annual Mema camp. This was a great place for us to stay for easy access to Johnson Shut-ins and Elephant Rock State Park. The house was perfect for what we needed and the girls loved playing outside in the lawn.
An exquisite home, impeccably maintained with just the right mix of modern and vintage. Staying at the property was like taking a step back in time. We marveled at all of the details and amenities, but by far, our favorite was the original doorbell located on the front door.
Easy drive from St. Louis and great location due to close proximity to Elephant Rocks, Johnson Shut-ins, Bonne Terre underground mine tour. The kitchen was well stocked and we used it to cook some family meals. Rooms are very large with comfortable bedding. Property was very clean, safe and base for family day trips for hiking. Internet WiFi. Will def rent this property again. Tina was very considerate.
They have done so well with Grandpaâs house. I especially liked the 3 kingsized beds, and the twin beds were perfect for our teenage grandkids. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was great for cooking breakfast. Loved the outdoor fire pit and seating. Parking very convenient. Area is lovely old neighborhood in this small town. Several places to eat at reasonable prices in town. Close to ElephantRocks and Johnsonâs Shut in. Would recommend.
The house is much bigger than it looks from the outside. There is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their own sleeping quarters. The neighborhood was quite and safe. Ironton is a nice town with friendly people. Our family was headed on a long road trip on decided to stay in this house instead of a hotel. That was the right decision. Overall, the host was excellent with exceeding our needs and I'd stay here again if we are ever in this region.
Bob and I were born and raised in Arcadia Valley. After 35 years of being away we decided to retire back home. We love to travel and spend time with our grandchildren and kids. Avid St Louis. Blues hockey fans. We love hosting and sharing our family home as a way to help finance our travel escapades.
Our home is one of the few traditional Victorians built in the early 1900âs. It was purchased in 1957 by my husbandâs grandparents. We are happy to have been able to refurbish the home and offer it for other families to make memories as the Sutton family has for many decades.
