Welcome to Coastal Waves - recently remodeled for guest comfort and enjoyment and every detail has been considered from the comfortable sleeping to the new furnishings to the decor, to the kitchen being fully stocked with anything you could need to prepare full meals during your stay or warming up leftovers from the many amazing restaurants that Galveston has to offer. Privately owned, professionally managed and service is number one to the managers and the owners!
The private bedroom in the quiet side of the condo offers relaxation in the spacious room, the comfortable queen bed, the closet and drawer space is plentiful, the television is large, cable and "smart" - sometimes smarter than we are ;). The kitchen has everything you could possibly need from a coffee cup to a crock pot - whether staying a few nights or a couple of months - you'll have everything needed to feel right at home. We provide starter supplies of toiletries, paper products and coffee in order to get you started on getting to know the lay of the land and make your shopping lists while not having to worry about that long drive in and needing a clean restroom. We can't wait to have you stay at Coastal Waves, hear and see them from the balcony off the living room, and watch them literally from the kitchen. You'll be back - we promise - it's brand new and just waiting for you!
Visiting Galveston for one of the many competitive events hosted here? Cheer, dance, sports tournaments or conferences? Weddings, family reunions, class reunions, festivals, homes tours, or any other groups? Why squeeze into a tiny hotel room when your entire group could stay in their own condos and enjoy "together time" at the pools, hot tubs, etc. instead!
Being about 5 blocks from a big box store makes shopping a breeze whether for food and beverage selections, beach necessities you may have forgotten, or souvenirs to remind you of your trip to the Texas gulf coast.
By the Sea condominiums are located across from Babeâs Beach on Galvestonâs Seawall.
You will have exclusive use of the entire condo - and share the pool, propane grill areas, fire pit, tennis court, laundry facility and fenced dog area (if Fido or Fifi is joining you) and other public spaces with other guests and residents of By the Sea.
What's included: While we provide our guests with self check-in information and instructions, you can call us with any questions you may have at any time.
You certainly COULD stay here without a car - you can walk to shopping, eateries and the beach, there is public transportation nearby, and there are several local and nationally "branded" taxi services as well as ride share (Uber, Lyft) programs in place as well as meal deliveries (UberEats, ASAP (formerly WAITR) and DoorDash available as well. We provide self check in instructions 24-72 hours prior to arrival - and when you are on vacation - YOU ARE ON VACATION. Should you need to reach us, however, we are but a phone call or email away and ready to assist you. We are happy to answer any questions at any time, but to ensure we give you the correct code we cannot provide access instructions earlier than this.
Bed linens for all beds, one bath, hand and wash cloth for each guest that the unit welcomes. We do not provide beach/pool towels as when we did â they continuously went home with our guests. If you wish to ârentâ beach towels from us â it is $25 for condos that accommodate up to 6 guests and $35 for condos that accommodate up to 8 guests. Which is only the additional cost of the laundering of them â labor time, laundry products, etc. We will need to have a credit card on file for this as if there are beach towels missing upon your departure, the charge is $25 per towel. We ask that our bath towels not be removed from the condo and taken to the beach or pool. They can get damaged or lost.
Starter supplies: 2 rolls of 2-ply, quilted toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a dishwasher tablet, small dishwashing liquid, sponge, 2 small soaps, 2 small shampoos, trash bag, and coffee including sweeteners, stir sticks, powdered creamer to make that first pot. These are intended to get you started while you make your list and decide where to shop (there is a WalMart, Kroger, Randall's, Arlan's and Target on the island, as well as many mom & pop grocery stores.
By the Sea â like almost every condominium complex and hotel in Galveston, charges a parking/resort/amenity fees. This is not a charge from My Galveston Getaway and is paid directly to the complex upon your arrival. They will issue a parking permit and may issue wristbands that identify guests who are authorized at the complex. The charge is $37.89 (tax included) per vehicle per stay (not per night). Anything with tires â so truck & trailer is 2 vehicles. They also charge a per pet fee of $10.83 per animal. Make sure youâve let My Galveston Getaway know youâre bringing a dog and paid that fee as well ($75 per dog and dogs only.) Service animals are the exception. Please know for vacation rental purposes, ESAâs (emotional support animals) are not service animals and not exempt from rules and charges. We are unable to collect this in advance and pay it to By the Sea on your behalf. We donât get to make the rules, we just play by them!
Many of our owners have switched out to âSmartâ TVâs â so bring your login information with you to sign in to your own subscription services, and donât forget to log-out before leaving.
We strive for 5 star reviews at all times - and the first part of that is notifying everyone of every cost they may incur so that there are no surprises. If during your stay with us you find any reason that you are not able to rate our service and the property a 5 star review based upon the description of the property, that the pictures accurately depict the property, or our courteous service - please let us know and give us the opportunity to turn that frown upside down and EARN your 5 star review.

After making your reservation you will receive a link to complete our renters agreement. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address, the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay, and your driverâs license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. Thank you for completing this in a timely manner so that we may send you the check-in instructions for the property you have reserved.
Galveston is a barrier island located in the Gulf of Mexico. The island is susceptible to rainstorms, thunderstorms and even a hurricane now and then. Sometimes these result in temporary power and WiFi outages. We strongly encourage our renters to consider purchasing trip interruption/cancellation protection either through the platform that you book through or some other source. My Galveston Getaway issues refunds if a governmental official issues a mandatory evacuation of the island. Unfortunately we are unable to control sunshine, temperatures and mosquitos and do not refund other than pursuant to our policy based on evacuation orders. Thank you for understanding.
Again â the parking/resort/amenities/facilities fee is one charged by the condominium complex, not by the owner of the condo or My Galveston Getaway and we appreciate your understanding.
For all reservations made directly through our website and through VRBO, there is a $300 security deposit âholdâ required. You certainly can purchase trip cancellation/interruption coverage through those platforms as well if you so desire, this is a damage âdepositâ hold. This is released once our housekeepers advise that the property has been left in the condition received with no damages occurring during your stay. This is not a charge, but a hold on the credit card on file with which the reservation is made. Should there be damages and they exceed $300 to repair or replace, you will be notified and asked to make arrangements to compensate for those items.
