Blue Chair Key is a waterfront two bedroom, one bathroom vacation home that sleeps two in the master bedroom with a king sized bed and two in the guest room with a queen sized bed. Beautifully decorated and comfortably adorned, you will feel right at home. The kitchen is fully stocked for your cooking needs. The porthole window in the dining room sets the tone for an incredible nautical stay right on the water. Walk outside to enjoy the floating dock, a perfect spot for fishing or launching kayaks! A fish cleaning station is available for your use. Blue Chair Key is located within a private and quiet part of the island, but just a short golf cart ride away from shops and restaurants downtown and on Dock Street. Kayak Information: Kayaks are included for your stay at Blue Chair Key. Just a 20-30 minute paddle away from the home is Atsena Otie an incredible deserted National Wildlife Island. Paddle yourself around the backwater through the marshes.
BOATER INFORMATION: Boat safely and responsibly. Boating from Blue Chair Key is at your own risk. Cedar Key is shallow water until you reach the channels. Experienced boaters should study navigational charts and tides prior to boating in the area. We have two approaches from Bay access from the dock. The bay can be less than 2 feet deep at low tide. The first bay access involves a bridge to the east that the State of Florida says is 6.5 feet high at mean high tide. In October, we have 5 feet of water at low tide at the dock and a clearance of +/- 6 feet at the bridge at high tide. Both vary greatly and you will need to judge the height on your approach. The second bay access approach is via a tidal waterway to the west with a variety of depths depending on the tide. Check and know your height to the waterline, draft, tides and use your depth finder before navigating.
Up to one dog is permitted (20 pound max) with pet fee as follows: Pet fee is $50 per pet per visit, 1 pet maximum.
Love this cottage. We are at 2nd St. cafe and Steamers. Love riding around on the golf cart. Cedar Key is still recovering from the storms but it is still a charming town. If you need any advice on how to catch catfish, let us know.
We absolutely loved this property, and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in appreciating the nature that abounds in Cedar Key! The view from the house is beautiful (a spoonbill flew in just as we arrived), we were able to put in kayaks from the dock, and the house had been beautifully renovated post storm. It's a short trip to town, and a short walk to the bridge for sunset. The rental company was great too!
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. Everything was perfect, the place was clean and check-in was easy. We spent our time relaxing and doing a little fishing and crabbing. Would definitely stay here again.
This house was beautiful, everything that it was advertised to be. It was so well stocked with everything we needed for the whole week. We thoroughly enjoyed fishing from the dock right out the back door and taking scenic walks along the waterfront. We will definitely be returning to this vacay spot!! Thanks for hosting us!
So my family (6 year old, 7 year old, wife and I) stayed at Blue Chair Key from June 15th (check in) until June 17th (check out). I would like to start by saying I worked for the Florida Department of Corrections as a state certified officer at a prison for a few years. I take my families safety to a whole other level when it comes to us going out of town, this rental exceeded the expectations. I have to say this is the first place where I actually fell asleep quickly! we only saw 5-7 people our whole stay. It's secluded back in a marsh like area covered in oyster beds, where if you're going for a little get away and to get a line in the water I would recommend this. We caught red fish, speckled trout, catfish, we even reeled in a few crabs. The coolest thing of all was seeing multiple black drums come feet away from the dock and feed on the oyster bars at high tide, not just once but on three different occasions! We also saw manatees and tarpon in the distance! Now onto the inside shall we, the inside was absolutely breath taking. The living room and both bedrooms had tv's. Also, inside the kitchen is a really cool circular window facing the marsh! Everything you could need for your stay is provided (excluding food). At night you can sit on the dock and literally hear the water flowing in, don't forget to use the ThermaCell's that are inside! Also you can see incoming and outgoing planes going to the runway! We will be back again!
It was a great place to recover from surgery. Almost canceled, glad we didnât. Very laid back and relaxing. Fishing out back, short golf cart drives to town.
This home was one of my favorites!! Everything you need is there. The house was very clean and cozy! We rented the gulf cart for the week also. I highly recommend renting the gulf cart so you can go everywhere on it instead of a vehicle. We saw so many dolphins.. One day we went on a 8 hour charter and another day we took a hour trip to rainbow springs and floated down river in a tube!! So much fun!
We loved our stay!!!! The house is absolutely beautiful!!!! The management staff was on point with any help we needed including teaching us how to operate the tv in the living room!! The owners were also so kind and we absolutely loved their renovation on their home!! Everything we needed was right there and things we didn't know we needed was right there also!!!!! We can't wait to come back and bring our parents in September!!!!
The Blue Chair property had every convenience that one could want: Lovely kayaks, throughly stocked kitchen conveniences, comfortable beds, and a lovely decorated interior. We thoroughly enjoyed the use of the golf cart as well. I would stay there again if I come to Cedar Key. The only suggestion that I might have is that there would be two extra blankets available for use on chilly nights. Other than that, I have no criticisms. I still would give it a 5 star rating!
This was our first visit to CK as well as to the Gulf Coast. We truly enjoyed the island and the surroundings! But this review is for the property so I will focus on that. Just beautiful. Truly. We stayed a full week - Everything was so well decorated - beautiful blues and creams everywhere. Most of the accessories and utensils etc were also some shade of blue. So cute. The house smelled lovely and had everything we needed. The couch was super comfy and the TV was sufficient. Loved having washer and dryer access also. The backyard and dock were perfect. We had a daily visitor or 2 - a blue heron and a white heron came every day to benefit from my husbandâs fishing prizes. Being off season, we did not use the golf cart as we knew there would be ample parking. But how nice to have that option! I wish we had taken advantage of the kayaks but we never made that happen. We would definitely come back and will surely stay here if we are able. Thank you so much for letting us use your lovely home!
Perfect place to stay and unwind from your busy life. We loved riding the golf cart around, wildlife watching and kayaking. The Blue Chair was beautiful đ
