Ocean front cottage


What a view! Take in the ocean views from the sunroom, living room, kitchen, and primary bedrooms. Enjoy the ocean breeze on the spacious deck, rocking in a rocking chair or soaking up the sun on a lounger. There are plenty of toys to make your beach visit easy breezy including boogie boards, beach cart, cooler, beach towels and chairs. Inside there’s an air hockey table, 75” flatscreen TV with a guest Netflix account, Wi-Fi, and plenty of seating to spread out. Comfortable seating for dining or working from the banquet dining table in the sunroom comes with an awesome view of the beach. Lil Salty is a charming and comfortable cottage for most guests and although our bathrooms are on the smaller side, both showers have a detachable shower head wand to make it more comfortable.
Nearby, for your convenience is a King’s Beachware, Publix grocery store, and convenient restaurants including, Pepperoni Grill for pizza, pasta, and salads. Checkout Kai Joe’s taco stand, or for a cold sweet treat there’s Dole Whips at the park!
Oak Island has a lot of amenities including putt-putt, a skateboard park, kids playground, movies and music in the park (seasonal), and so many delicious restaurants. My favorite is Shagger Jacks - their fried chicken sandwich and skinny fries with comeback sauce is a winner!
The beaches at Oak Island are family friendly and welcoming to all! We only ask that you stay off the dunes and do not disturb the sea turtles in nesting season.
Lil Salty loves all people and animals, but asks that you keep your four legged friends at home.

Enjoyed a very comfortable and relaxing week at the beach with our family. Owner was extremely helpful and responsive with a small appliance issue. The cottage was exactly as advertised. Beds were comfortable, whole home was very clean and the location was awesome! Hope to come back to Oak Island and would definitely stay here again!!

Cute, basic place on beach

We had a very short (2-night) stay. Place is cute, furniture was comfortable. 2 tiny bathrooms, to close door off main bedroom had to push down handle once door was pulled closed. Nice view of dunes and water, easy access to beach (not visible due to dunes). I have rented a lot of places. This place is quite small, so family or close friends would probably work. We could not find any wine glasses, but there was a coffee pot and filters.

Fall Family Beach Trip

Lil Salty is the perfect beach house to really have a relaxing and fun beach vacation! The views are beautiful and really add to the enjoyment of the stay since you can constantly see the ocean. We loved ending our day on the beach just relaxing on the couch and watching the huge screen TV. The host couldn’t be any nicer or accommodating ! We will be back soon!

Just wonderful!

Lil Salty is such a great house and location!! The owner has done so many nice additions for guests and we felt right at home! Pampered even! We could not have been happier with the view and the ease of access to the beach! Wow! We love this place!!

Great Thanksgiving weekend

The house was just perfect for our Thanksgiving weekend. The view was phenomenal and we really enjoyed all the amenities of the house - especially the huge tv and comfortable couch. The hostess couldn’t be nicer and very responsive. We will definitely be back to enjoy more time at Lil Salty!!

Wonderful Stay

Our family loved Lil Salty! We’ve been to Oak Island 3 times and this house is by far our favorite. So many helpful details from towels to beach gear were provided by the host. The kitchen was well stocked and the living space was relaxing and had beautiful views of the ocean. Everything was super clean and the beds were extremely comfortable.

Great Beach Week

We really enjoyed our stay at Lil Salty! The view from the large windows was really beautiful and made it so nice to have a full view of the beach without even going outside. We loved the large 75 inch Tv and watched movies at night after a full day on the beach. The house is decorated beautifully keeping the original cottage charm but having a modern feel.

Perfect family getaway

We loved our stay at Lil Salty! Anna was responsive before, during and after our visit. The house was the perfect accommodation for our kids....complete with everything we needed. My 5 year old loved the air hockey table and we used the pack n play for my 2 year old. With 2 little ones, even when we weren't on the beach, the view of the beach from the house kept the vacation vibes going! Highly recommend!!

Great spot for a girls weekend

We rented this house for a girls weekend with my mom, sister, and daughter. It was the perfect amount of space for us. We really wanted something on the beach so my mom could have an ocean view without having to go onto the beach, and this did that. The owner was so quick to communicate. And we even got early check-in, which was super helpful. If you are looking for a quick getaway, this place really does have all the amenities you need and is centrally located to everything. It was a perfect mini vacation!

September Stay at Lil' Salty

We loved it. Hope to stay there again! Had everything we needed. Right next to beach access. Kitchen well stocked. Open with lots of light. Mattresses great to sleep on. So nice to wake up and see the ocean. I hope we can get back there! Front and back decks were great. Had all the amenities. Very much reccommend!

Lil PERFECT

Where to even start? This place is wonderful! From the moment I booked Anna was always quick to respond to any questions I had. Her place is exactly like pictured. Very clean!!! Lots of little extras available for use at the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful views. Being right next to the Public Beach Access with a walk out mat was an added perk. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Hi! I bought this sweet little cottage in 2021 after it went unloved for far too long and gave it a new life with fresh paint, new carpet, furniture, appliances, and some handmade decor. My best friends helped me along the way and it makes me happy to share Lil Salty with you and your besties for your next beach vacation. I’m a North Carolina native and grew up visiting this area when I was in high school and college. I love Oak Island for the community feel that other beach towns lack. No matter the time of year you visit, there’r always restaurants to visit, shops to explore, and of course, the beach to refresh your spirit.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Lil Salty is all about comfort and charm. There is a lot of space in this 1,000 sqft., one-story home. It’s modestly decorated, thoughtfully appointed, and ready for you to arrive and relax. Your bed will be made with complimentary linens, the house will be stocked with starter toiletries and kitchen essentials, beach gear is available below deck, games, books, and puzzles for rainy days, and comfortable seating for a movie night in front of the 75” flat screen TV - including a guest Netflix account! Kids of all ages enjoy a couple of rounds of air hockey in the sunroom, or quietly reading on the futon. I personally enjoy working from the dining table with views of the ocean beyond my laptop screen. Or, escape the indoors and listen to the waves crash and watch the pelicans dive from the beach front deck while rocking in a rocking chair or catching a nap on the loungers. Lil Salty is conveniently located to restaurants, grocery stores, shops, and public parks like Middleton Park and Davis Canal.
