Follow the North Star to your private vacation oasis, complete with hot tub (open all year!), heated in-ground pool, large outdoor patio, fenced back yard and open floor plan with a cozy fireplace!

Located just minutes from downtown New Buffalo's beautiful beach, shops, restaurants and harbors, North Star is a kid-friendly, pet-friendly vacation destination. The open floor plan includes a dining area that comfortably seats 8 and opens to a large living area with plenty of seating for gathering around the fireplace or watching a movie together. Board games and books are tucked in the nearby cabinet for rainy days.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all dishes, glassware, utensils and cookware, including a large toaster oven, drip-style coffee pot, microwave and electric cooktop with oven. The gas grill is just outside on the patio. Please be sure to only use plastic dishware outside by the pool!

Primary bedroom is closest to the living room and offers a queen bed, lots of closet space and a sliding door with private entrance to the back patio. Bedrooms 2-4 are off the hallway to the left of the dining area. Bedroom 2 has one double bed and one twin bed. Bedroom 3 has a twin-over-twin bunk bed, and a twin-over full bunkbed, plus a second TV. Bedroom 4 has a view of the back yard and has a double bed.

The primary bathroom has a large tile shower. Hall bathroom has a tub/shower.

We provide all bed and bath linens, as well as towels for use by the pool. We also provide laundry soap, dishwasher pods, dish soap and hand soap at every sink. You'll find a roll of paper towel and at least one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. Please plan to bring additional paper goods as needed for your group, as well as your own body/bath soaps and shampoo/conditioner items. Coffee filters are available, but please bring your favorite coffee to enjoy!

Washer and dryer can be found in the alcove off the living room, where there is also a second fridge/freezer for your drinks and treats, and easy access from the pool area.

Guests use pool and hot tub at their own risk. Children should never swim unsupervised. No diving. No running by the pool. Please pick up after your pets!

Comfy home

We came in town for a family member's wedding. This property was great! There were a few questions I had, to which the home owner fixed or took care of immediately. So no complaints! Heather was amazing and was on top of responding to me or keeping me up to date. I will say though... either the water heater is on a timer or it will need replaced soon. It seemed the hot water was gone quick. *(We tried quick showers and gave it a reasonable time for it to fill up.)* And when you have multiple people needing to shower for an event, it was cold. So I would check with her about that, before staying again. Aside from that, it was a great house to stay in! It was a great house to entertain and feel comfortable in. And the neighborhood was super quite. Thanks for everything Heather!

Perfect for Weekend Getaway!

Overall we had a great weekend! The open layout of the house was perfect for hanging out and relaxing. The backyard is truly amazing and we loved having the option of using the hot tub. We did wish the house would have had some blankets for us to use since it was pretty chilly and it seemed like the heat had a hard time keeping up.

Good location, would not book again

My family and I (3 adults; and a 17 year old) spent Thanksgiving at the property. The communication with the host was good, as well as the location. Host reached out in advance to let me know the oven was too small for a turkey (it's oddly small, and you can barley fit a 9x13 pan in it). Host also mentioned there were upcoming kitchen cabinet repairs, so some cabinets/draws were not working. Wine refrigerator was not working. The property itself is run-down and could use a deep clean. We found the light switches to be goofy, and some outlet plugs didn't work for us. The pots and pans could use a refresh. Bathroom countertops don't provide a lot of space for toiletries, etc. One toilet was slow to flush, and 1 bathroom sink was not draining quickly. The listing said the property provides laundry soap. We were supplied 2 laundry pods, and 3 dryer sheets. If you need to do laundry, buy or bring detergent. Overall, it was ok. The outdoor space was nice, as well as the hot tub. The host also allowed for an early check in.

Great girls weekend in cute lakeside town

This property was perfect for 4 adult women. We each had our own bedroom. Everything was well appointed and comfortable and the hot tub was divine. The location was spectacular- walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars and the beach. We will definitely try to stay here again.

Girls Weekend

This was the perfect place for our girls weekend. The house is cozy and comfortable. The best part of this vacation home is the host. Communication with her is excellent, and she is so accommodating and kind. We loved how close to town we were yet still able to enjoy a relaxing and quiet neighborhood. We sat and watched 2 deer visit us each day. They seemed to be part of the neighborhood. We went to the beach and enjoyed the view of the water and then walked some trails at one of the nearby parks. Dinner at Ghost Isle Brewery was delicious! We ended the evening with a visit to Four Winds Casino. The only negatives were we didn’t get in the hot tub and we only had 2 days to stay. I would definitely recommend this home for your vacation.

Great Stay

Had a great stay in New Buffalo. We were lucky in October to still be able to enjoy the pool to cool off after frequent dips in the hot tub! Tons of space inside and outside for big groups. Excellent communication and flexibility with host. Walking distance to downtown and beach (though not sure would want to haul anything more than a towel and light weight chair on that walk). Would definitely stay again. Thanks for a wonderful stay Heather!

Multiple Stays

We have stayed at this property 6x. It is close to town and we bring our dog, so there are plenty of areas to walk. Property is clean and the backyard is the star of the site. We will be back again.

Would not book again

The house was very poorly maintained. The hot-tub smelled and the home smelled musty and didn’t feel entirely clean. All fans were noisy and clanky. The air conditioning didn’t really cool the home and the house felt muggy due to it not going under 78*. The dishwasher was not working but the owner did call beforehand to see about having it fixed while we were using the home; we declined. Good location for walking into town but would not rebook.

Great getaway

My family and I were very impressed with the property. The layout worked great for us. And we made good use of the pool and hot tub. It was a great location. Very close to the main area for restaurants and shopping.

Mom and sisters get away

All I have to say is this is a great property. The house is spacious and well equipped. Back deck and pool amazing! Close proximity to the beach and restaurants. You can walk if you want to. Would come back again!

Pool was great!!

We booked this place for the outdoor space and it did not disappoint. Pool and hot tub were both clean and ready for our use. There are things about this property that could be cleaner. The siding up by the gutters of the house in the backyard were very dirty and unsettling to look and there are places inside the house that could use some maintenance for the price of this place but overall it was a nice stay and our group had a great time.

2024 New Buffalo Stay

Everything was wonderful. Location is perfect. We walked everywhere. It was very clean and pool was wonderful. The grandkids could have swam all day.

Inaccurate billing and non responsive host

My overall rating is primarily due to the inaccurate and what now appears to be fraudulent billing practices by the host and lack of response to my messages and concerns. I received an extra payment request beyond what was outlined in the agreement which was a clear error. I had changed the dates of the stay (well within the defined policy terms) but the total cost/payment schedule was never updated to reflect the fewer dates. The total requested amount was paid in full to secure the property for the trip, but upon asking the host to rectify this error she has not complied or responded to any messages which is concerning given the significant amount of the over-charge. Beyond this issue, during our stay we were unable to use the pool due to its condition which was disappointing given this was a primary reason for booking the property. It was full of algae and dirty and apparently there were problems with the filter. The host did respond during the stay to my complaints related to the pool and refunded a portion of the actual total cost due to inability to use. Overall, the house is large and the inside mirrors what is reflected in the photos, it's in a nice area walkable to town and has a large backyard which would have been great if the pool were usable. However, It broadly could use updates, repairs, and some deeper cleaning both inside and out. Overall- my experience would have been rated very differently if not for the problems with billing and responsiveness.

4th of July in New Buffalo!

House setup was great. Perfect location, not on the busy main drag but close. We rented a golf cart which was perfect for going to the beach and restaurants. Backyard was awesome, pool is huge. Only thing I could say is the outdoor house/chairs/patio furniture could use some heavy power washing/painting.

Michigan trip

Location is great. Easy to get around and a short drive/walk downtown and to the beach. The area around the house is nice and quiet. The house is an older home and could use a good deep clean and some TLC. Backyard set up is nice and has a lot of things to do for entertainment but same as the inside it could use some upgrades. Overall we had no issues with the house and it’s a great location with good amenities.

We just spent our 4th summer visit to this great New Buffalo house. Everything was clean and perfect for our family. The pool and hot tub is where we spent most of our time, and we had such a fun week. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your house!

Celebrating our friend's retirement from teaching. House was perfect. Plenty of room for all of us, inside and out. Perfect location to food, shopping, wineries. Highly recommend! Eveything was great!

Fabulous property & great host

We loved the location, close to great places to eat. The property itself is secluded yet doesn’t feel isolated. The house layout is welcoming and the backyard is the star of the show. The host was always quick to respond and very accommodating. Some minor improvements (but not enough to reduce the star ratings): We played musical beds as it was hard to find one that’s completely comfortable. Could use an update. The pool area needs a little cleaning. The pool itslef is super clean. It’s the furniture and pool surroundings that can use a little dusting. Other than that, this place is definitely a repeat for our family. Thank you Heather for being a great host and offering this wonderful property!
