While the home is a private rental, there are other properties nearby. We are sorry to hear that you chose to shorten your stay. As we explained privately, the discoloration in the cleaning closet was not mold, but staining/oxidation on the flooring in an area used exclusively for housekeeping supplies. Guests are not expected to access or move items around within the cleaning closet, as it is a storage area for housekeeping equipment and supplies rather than a guest-use space. We also want to clarify that you chose to depart before our team had the opportunity to fully investigate the concern onsite. Had we been given the chance, we would have gladly inspected the area immediately and addressed anything that required attention. Instead, the stay was ended prematurely before an inspection could even take place. That said, once you shared your concerns, we still worked to address the situation fairly, including refunding the cleaning fee after your early departure. We understand that comfort and peace of mind are important while traveling, even when there is a misunderstanding about what was observed. We do want future guests to know that the cabin itself was professionally cleaned and prepared for arrival, and no confirmed mold issue was found in the guest living or sleeping areas.
