Experience the natural beauty of the Hocking Hills with this brand new listing. Take It Easy has been carefully designed with your relaxation in mind. With brand new amenities and a peaceful, bright, and relaxing aesthetic, your group will enjoy the sunrises, sunsets, and everything in between.

Relax and take in the views of trees while enjoying the brand new deck with gas grill, enjoy the bubbling hot tub, cozy up with a good book + a cocktail, or simply unwind in the moment.
Welcome to Take It Easy, where the name says it all! Upon opening the door, you are welcomed with a cozy entryway and mud area to kick off your boots from a long day of hiking. The home is designed with two nearly separate wings - one for kitchen, living, and dining room, and the other for sleeping, separated by the full bathroom and hallway. There is a king bedroom, queen bedroom, and a bedroom with twin-over-full bunk, all of which boast their upgraded mattresses, bedding, plenty of blankets and pillows, their own Smart TV, and white noise machines.

The granite Kitchen is well-equipped with Keurig K-duo coffee maker, k-cups, to-go coffee cups to take with you on your day of adventures, compact air fryer, blender, waffle maker, crockpots, popcorn popper, and more, as well as stainless steel appliances and plenty of counter space for food preparation. There is also a dedicated workspace available with boosted Wifi.

The Dining Room is warm, inviting, and has a gorgeous picture window with the perfect reading nook (and a great place to enjoy sunsets!) with a spacious farm table with plenty of seating. This opens to the Living Space, which has a sunken theater-vibe with mounted Smart TV, plenty of seating, extra cozy throw blankets, and a game table.

Outside, there are so many places to relax, all with their individual beauty! The welcoming front porch with has patio furniture, the back deck and patio with dining space, umbrella, separate hot tub deck, two separate firepits, and a quaint side porch. The outdoor space is equipped with gas grill, propane firepit, traditional firepit, adirondack chairs, hammock, cornhole boards, and SO much more. Expecting a rainy day? Take the gathering inside to the 2-car garage (also has washer + dryer available for guests).

Other things to note:
We do not provide firewood - but there are numerous places within two miles that have firewood available.

Great location

This place is 4 minutes from Old Mans Cave, 12 minutes from Ash Cave. Great amenities. The house itself has a bit of a strange layout, but it worked for us. The kitchen is well-equipped. Some of the painted surfaces in the bathroom need attention.

Perfect

Entire living area’s were perfect, all beds were comfortable. Thoughtfulness was put into common everyday essentials we need. Spacious property with perfect backyard area for gathering and games. Very peaceful. Hosts were welcoming and available. Hiking area’s were nearby and convenient to get to. Le Petit Chevalier Vineyards was beautiful and a favorite for our visit. Wine is excellent and grounds have flowers, hummingbirds and butterflies that were very enjoyable to see. We also enjoyed Old Man Cave General Store for the 22+ soft serve ice cream we visited twice. Everything in the listing for this property is there and more.

Hello! Meet Andy & Karen, the wonderful owners of Take It Easy! Both are retired former educators, Andy a former principal, and Karen, a former art teacher. They are enjoying retirement, traveling, and being grandparents to two busy twin boys!

Andy & Karen inherited this home from their beloved son, Mark, who tragically passed away unexpectedly several years ago. Mark was a highly respected local paramedic for our EMS services, as well as a flight paramedic for MedFlight and his memory continues to live on through the many lives he touched. Mark loved the Hocking Hills and was so proud of the beauty he called home. He worked previously for the ziplines, the canoe livery, and was formerly on the Rope Rescue team.

"Take It Easy" is named after Mark and one of his favorite songs to sing while sitting fireside, strumming his guitar!

Meet Co-Hosts Katie & Mike, also local to the Hocking Hills, and dear friends of Mark. With busy family life, they know the importance of being present in the moment and enjoying a relaxing vacation with loved ones. Together with the owners, they have worked tirelessly to make this a place of simplicity, peace, rest for all to enjoy!
