This is a classic farm house that could not be cleaner, had lots of room, spacious, spotless, and perfect.Linda was a very gracious host, and the farm property was very nice.I could live in this home if it were 250 miles closer to home.

The Pickering place is a a wonderful place to stay if you are in central Illinois.....spacious classic farm house and wonderful hosts....we have a family reunion close by and this location is perfect for our family....highly recommended

A Gem on Edinburg

My husband is from Edinburg. So I just jokingly looked for a VRBO there one night. This amazing farmhouse showed up.Turns out, he worked on this farm as a kid growing up, before going off to the Marines.But this farm is beautiful. A step back into a time past. This historic home is decorated perfectly. Very clean and has EVERYTHING, you could need while there.We spent most of our time on the patio, which is shaded in the morning and evening.A large kitchen and plenty of space to eat in the dining room too.The beds where not like the beds of the past, haha, thankfully. They were so comfortable. Incredibly clean. My huaband had the best time spending the weekend here. We didnt want to leave.We are already planning our next visit back to the farm!

Home sweet home

Beautiful old farmhouse in a country setting. This property was perfect for our stay visiting family for the holidays. The home was spacious and well stocked. The property is a well kept farm in a good location just outside of town. The house was very clean and we loved the history throughout the home. Will definitely stay again.

Spacious Country Antique Home with huge rooms!!!1918

We all had movie nights and played hide and seek. You could take a break from family and friends in any of the bedrooms. We all loved. Grown kids did take a walk. The owner was wonderful. We truly felt blessed to have her!!!!!!

Quick trip to area

Linda’s house was perfect for our quick trip to visit family in Taylorville. It has all the charm of an old farmhouse but is well maintained and extremely clean. Our three year old loved visiting the pumpkin barn. Linda was quick to respond after we left and thought we had forgotten something at the home. Would definitely stay here again!

Edinburg IL getaway

We had a wonderful experience during our 2-day stay. The house sits on a working farm that produces pumpkins during the fall and asparagus during the spring. We were lucky enough to experience the pumpkin season. The house is an early farm house, but kept up very well. Very clean, lots of amenities. Well stocked kitchen, lots of coffee variety provided. Bathrooms updated, upstairs bedrooms very cozy and had window units in each room so to pick your temperature during night time. Lots of space downstairs where 8 of us hung out and enjoyed a very relaxing time of family togetherness. The outside is a Norman Rockwell setting with barns decorated with old farm equipment, tools, cornstalks and pumpkins. They even had an old root cellar, not active, but just another great addition to the yesteryear aura. Porch swings outside and on the enclosed porch. Big ole gum tree in the front yard. Grain harvesting equipment going by on the adjacent road just added more farm life experience. Took the family to Lincoln museum, which was only about a 20 minute drive. Close to Springfield and Taylorville if you need anything. The owners were so wonderful and onsite so we got to visit while they were attending to the pumpkin sales. To give you an idea of the setting, the local county queens showed up for a photo shoot while we were there. If you want to escape and have a quiet weekend to yourselves, this is the place. We will definitely stay there again.
