Discovered Goose Rocks Beach last year and love the location and solitude of this beautiful beach. The house is well maintained, comfortable and private. Truly a wonderful spot.
Absolutely perfect location but house needs some TLC
The house couldnât have a better location. Beautiful views of Goose Rocks Beach. Beds were comfortable and accommodated our variety of guests.
But the house itself really really needed a deep clean. Granted that we were there at the tail end of the season (September) after many renters, but the moldy tile grout in the bathrooms was more than a seasonâs worth of neglect.
Smoke detectors were missing on the first floor, and the WiFi needs a major boost.
However, all in all, I would rent this house again for a short stay. The location itself makes up for many, many of the flaws.
It was a great place to stay. Would definitely suggest this house. Great views of the beach from every room. Easy access to the beach!! Itâs just BEAUTIFUL!!
Efficient, Friendly Host.
Allowed in a little early, so helpful because we traveled a long distance.
Clean, convenient, comfortable and steps from Ocean.
Whole Family impressed and Happy with Accommodations.
We canât wait to book again.
Thank you very much.
What an amazing house. This location is simply amazing. If your looking for a place to have some fun, relax and unwind this is it. I was amazed at how warm the water was the the beach is perfect with soft sand and no rocks. Eleanor could not have been more helpful and got back to us quickly with any questions. Would book this property again in a heart beat!
This property was extremely comfortable for our party of 8. The bunk room accommodated the 4 young adults (19-24). Grandma had the downstairs master (Perfect) while the upstairs master and third bedroom took care of the rest.
The open concept living room with a huge TV facing The dining room and kitchen kept everyone in the loop.
The location made it very convenient to enjoy all the beach had to offer. The men in the party fished for stripe sea bass right in front. They caught lots. None, however, met the slot limit. Paddle boarding and skim boarding added to the fun. At night the fire pit and card games kept the fun going.
Everyone voted this the best accommodation weâve had over the years. The only thing missing (according to the younger crew) was rougher water and bigger waves. So weâre giving 4 thumbs up out of 5. đđ»đđ»đđ»đđ»
I can't say enough about this house, the location, the property manager Eleanor, and the absolutely wonderful time we had at GRB. We've been long time campers in the area, but not really beach house stayers. The fact that this house was pet friendly for my parent's dog and my boyfriend's seeing eye dog added to the ease of our stay. The only thing (and it was my bad for not checking) was the bed sizes were a little different than listed. There's a king in the master, a king downstairs with a full in the room. We had brought queen sheets. Other than that, the house was nicely appointed, comfortable, BEAUTIFUL, and simply perfect.
We had a wonderful time! Eleanor was great with communication. The house has been renovated from the looks of the photos vs. the real thing and is bright and comfortable. When we weren't at the beach the living areas provided enough spaces for us to either read, play games watch t.v. or eat - all at the same time. Kitchen is well equipped...and liked having 3-1/2 baths. GRB has always been wonderful....we have never rented on this side of the beach and enjoyed the activity. Only wishes were - not enough reading lamps and when the beach was busy you need to inch out of the driveway because of the bushes and close parking set up by the town. We went off season so the price was good. We hope to rent here again.
Wonderful location! The house is beautiful with ocean views from every bedroom. Master has a small deck to sit and have your morning coffee while watching low tide. Very comfortable . The grandkids loved it....best vacation ever! Had a fire in the fire pit one evening so we made sâmores and roasted marshmallows.
We had a very hot week but there were fans provided for every room which was a huge benefit.
The owners and property manager are very accommodating and easy to work with...hope to go back.
Would have liked a couple beach chairs but could have brought them had we known.
Solitude and beauty. What more can you ask for when spending a week at the beach? This is a special spot. The house is well maintained. Could have used a couple of beach chairs, although, sitting out back you felt like you were on the beach. Amazing low tide walks to explore and our week on May was really great with the weather cooperating.
This house is amazing! Every bedroom has a has a spectacular view of the beach! The master bedroom has a small deck - perfect for morning coffee. The house is updated and well maintained. Sparkling clean upon arrival. Linens and towels provided. Large capacity washer and dryer. There is a small fire pit to use in the yard and a gas grill. there is plenty of comfortable outside (and inside) seating. Plenty of parking. Wifi worked well. There is a Keurig coffee maker with some
pods provided. Owner was very responsive with communications. This house is a totally GEM!!!
I have to reiterate what others have said. Location is absolutely unprecendented on my favorite beach in all of New England. My Mother-in-Law owned a home on this beach for years and it was such a priviledge to be back.
Number of bedrooms/bathrooms are amble. Love having a washer/dryer.
Property Management
We received prompt responses to all of our inquiries but did have a couple of miscommunications.
No reminder of balance payment due by notice; have been renting vacation properties for many years, first time this has happended, then scolding for not hitting the date.
Miscommuncation regarding location of key. Phoned, was put on hold then told apologetically I have so many properties I get confused.
Cleanliness of Property
The owner should reconsider the cleaning staff. Kitchen sink had food left in the sink strainer (ick), cob webs in many of the corners, none of the glass doors had been cleaned (which make up the whole back of the house and view of the ocean). Floors and Bathrooms were clean. Living room furniture had sand all of over it. Gave the maid feedback as we were leaving the property and she apologized profusely and would pay more attention to it.
Condition of Property
Once inside we were shocked by the condition of the property especially as compared with the outside, nevermind the price. Kitchen and bathrooms are original/never been updated from what I can tell (likely late eighties vintage) and not in good repair though they were mostly functional. Cabinets missing handles, drawers not easily opened, kitchen sink is absolutely disgusting. This is an easy fix and unclear why the owner doesn't paint the kitchen cabinets, replace the kitchen sink and cabinet hardware. Some of the glass doors that open onto the deck wouldn't open, had no screens and leaked during heavy rains. We had a flood in the dining room one day. Carpets throughout are gross, the one in the downstairs bedroom smelled whenever the humidity went up. Walls had some holes and are in need of fresh paint. What really amazed me was the amount of useless kitsch throughout the house. I systematically went around clearing as many surfaces as I could. Strongly recommend the owner declutter (throw away) most of this stuff, it's unnecessary. There's a very large built-in bar unit (knotty pine) that takes up one whole wall of the living room. It should be torn down and thrown in the dump
Love the location, not the condition of the property.
My family has been vacationing to Kennebunkport for years and I would have to say this was the Best vacation yet. You are able to walk out of your back door and put your toes right in the sand. The sunsets are beautiful and can be enjoyed unobstructed from the deck.
We stayed at the house with 3 families all with young children. There was plenty of space and privacy for everyone. The house is very large and well laid out. My son loved the train decor. The "children's" bunk room had some toys to play with and also a DVD player.
There are Plenty of places in the house for everyone to eat together The kitchen easily seats 8, dining sits 4 but we mostly are outside on the deck with 10 people. There is an outdoor grill and lobster pot. Just down the street you can buy fresh lobster and steamers. We had a wonderful lobster bake one night.
Washer and dryer is on the first floor, very convenient coming in from the beach. The only thing I wish the house had was an outdoor shower, otherwise the house is just a dream.
Goose rocks beach is very large and private. Very safe for young children. We had 3 three year olds and one 5 year old. They all enjoyed the wonderful tidal pools and shallow water. The beach has tons of shells to collect. There is a wonderful restaurant that is child friendly walking distance from the house. The restaurant has a very nice bar for the adult crowd. Downtown is about 15 minutes away and loaded with shopping and restaurants. The "General Store" is just a few blocks and has wonderful sandwiches made to order and a nicely appointed convenience store and even has beer and wine
The house location could not be any better.
Parking was not a problem, we had 4 cars with no difficulty.
The owners were lovely to deal with. Great communication
We will definitely be back to this house to make more family memories..I think of this place almost every day since we left.
