We enjoyed our stay in the Carriage House. It's a wonderful property tucked away on a tree-lined neighborhood. It's an easy walk to Brown's campus and to restaurants in Wayland Square. The house is very functional--three large bedrooms and another bed in the loft. It was very comfortable for two couples. We worried that it might feel too close to the main house, but that wasn't the case. We really felt like we had our own space, and very much enjoyed our time there.
Our stay was everything I had hoped for! The carriage house is lovely. It was very clean, well stocked in every way. Very comfortable, very quiet. We prepared food easily. There were three of us and we each had plenty of space to be together or apart. We look forward to returning.
First stay at this property, spent a week with family attending a graduation and moving our new grad off campus. House was well equipped for the stay, very clean, convenient location as listed. A minor issue with the dishwasher was resolved immediately by the host. Note for individual preferences: the beds are firm, and the coffee maker is small! Could be a problem for some. But overall a terrific place to stay for Brown/RISD visits.
We enjoyed our visit to Providence for a spring break with 2 teens, their parents and a grandmother. The carriage house is lovely, with 3 bedrooms on 3 floors. The bathrooms are very well appointed and the kitchen is well equipped. The beautiful living /dining area is on the small side. It would be helpful to have a few folding chairs so that 5 or 6 people can sit at the table to eat. We were so glad to be in an area of the city close to everything we wanted to visit. Jean is a terrific host.
Lovely property in a magical neighborhood. We enjoyed daily walks in this wonderful area. The carriage house offers privacy and everything needed for an enjoyable trip to Providence.
Perfect spot to stay in when visiting, not only everything is super close but the house is immaculate. We truly enjoyed the carriage house. Recommend for families or friend groups. Thanks Jean for wonderful accommodations!
What a great place !
Fantastic host
Beautiful neighborhood
We gathered to celebrate our sons wedding
Had an amazing time in this beautiful home !
Thank you Jean !!
My family of 4 came over from London to drop off our daughter at RISD. The house was at the perfect location as it was very close to RISD and Brown which made logistics amazing !
It is also close to whole food and a starbucks as well as other brunch and lunch places which was super convenient .
The carriage house was also really clean and Jean our host was super communicative and replied my many questions about about seaside towns to visit and recommendations of places to eat and excercise, which was very helpful. I would highly recommend and hopefully stay here again .
We were looking at Brown and RISD, and this was the perfect location. We could walk to both universities as well as local dining and shopping. The space itself was newly remodeled and quite beautiful. The neighborhood was safe to walk my dog around at night. 5 stars.
This is a great property-a renovated garage that has two private bedrooms plus an attic sleeping loft with 2 beds. The space is immaculate and very well appointed. We didnât cook any meals but the kitchen was well-equipped and we could have. The location is exceptionally quiet but super close to the Brown campus and the Thayer St district. Communication with the property management was impeccable and I basically cannot recommend this property highly enough.
This is my favorite rental by far, quite honestly. The rooms are large and spacious, easily sleeping 6. The living space is cozy and welcoming with a focus on togetherness. We spent more time sitting around talking after each day than we have in a long time. The location is quiet, given its proximity to the college and Thayer St., which I highly recommend taking a stroll down. If youâre looking for an exceptional rental that is close to tons of things to do, rent here. We look forward to coming back next year. Thank you Jean and Kevin. Theyâre exceptional hosts thatâll really solidify your stay as perfect. Yâall made these Texans very happy.
Exceptional, Stylish Oasis in the Heart of Providence
We had the extreme good fortune to spend the past week at the Blackstone carriage house in Providence. Located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood with ample parking, the house has been stylishly restored and maintains its charm, while possessing all the modern amenities one could want while on the road. It is spacious, clean, comfortable, colorful, warm and inviting. My daughter in particular delighted in the strung lights which give a magical sense to the third floor great room. If you are visiting Brown, RISD or any of the other historic sites in Providence, it would be hard to find a better location and place to land. We will definitely be back. Thank you Jean and family for providing such a pleasing oasis.
We spent a long weekend in the carriage house, for my sonâs white coat ceremony at Brown University. While the weather didnât agree, everything else was fabulous! The Carriage House was just as described, perfectly clean and beautiful inside. There was plenty of room for all of us. The beds originally seemed hard, but once you sank into them, they were perfect. They provided everything we needed including shampoo, conditioner and body wash, which was a great addition. All paper products were there too. We were a 3 minute drive to the ceremony, which was amazing. Next time, weâll hope for better weather so we can walk around Providence. We will be back! Thank you for a great weekend.
Upon reaching our rental property we thought we were at the wrong location because it looked like just a garage. When realizing this property was a guest house garage instead of a stand alone property as the photos and listing (categorized as "house"on listing) depicted was the first red flag. Second, I reached out to the owner in regards to the confusion of the listing and was asked if i wanted to leave? A day later, I was sent a picture of 2 petite boxes of cookies left as a peace offering, I'm assuming. Our 2nd level shower leaked the entire time and we had to place towels on the floor to soak up the water while showering. We also endured an ant infestation in the bathroom on the main floor, yard/fence work, trucks, and etc while so closely linked together to the main house which did not allow us to enjoy our birthday week the way that we thought we would. Also, additional furniture could help the 2nd level space; a standard couch to accommodate guests. The cleanliness overall was good. And the location was convenient. However, If your looking for SPACE and PRIVACY, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HEREâŒïž
We spent a week in the Providence area for a family vacation - with older teenage/adult children. The home was perfect for us because had their own space and we also had some community space to share. Location was great - near great restaurants, easy access to highways, and a safe neighborhood. The home and property was clean, easy to access and no complaints from any of our family members. Communication with our hosts was easy and they were quick with any needs that we had. Would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in the Providence area.
Located in a beautiful historic neighborhood with many architecturally significant buildings. Great, safe location that is walkable to Brown University, RISD, and many cute shops and restaurants.
This is a standalone, private single-family house (not an apartment). There are no other living units attached to the house, and no shared living spaces. Peaceful and private.
