The Great Lakes Getaway (Upper Unit) is a renovated apartment just 2 miles from Lake Michigan’s sandy beaches and minutes from Indiana Dunes National Park. Perfect for up to 4 guests, this historic space features one bedroom, a futon in the living room, a stocked kitchen, Smart TV, and shared laundry access. Close to outlet shopping, breweries, and local cafes!

--Living Area: 1 Futon (sleeps 2 – firm and small, best suited for children)

Note: Two adult couples may be more comfortable booking the Lower Unit (sleeps 6) or the full Great Lakes Duplex (sleeps 10).

--Homes are NOT baby-proofed (no outlet covers, no cabinet locks, furniture is not secured to walls, no cribs provided, etc). Guests are responsible for their safety.
--No parties, or events – we value the relationship with our neighbors, and strive to keep the home in top condition.
--Max 10 guests (strictly enforced)
--Stairs: Guests must climb steps to enter; upper unit has very steep historic stairs

--Neighborhood is eclectic & transitional – safe but mixed; police station less than 1 mile away
--Train tracks a few blocks away 🚂 (you may hear whistles; white noise machines provided for light sleepers)


⏰ Check-In / Check-Out
--Check-In: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
--Check-Out: 10:00 AM
--Note: We always try to provide early check-in and late check-out opportunities when possible. (It is simply dependent on whether or not it’s a same day check-in/out, the condition in which the previous guest left the home, and our cleaners’ schedules.) Please notify us if you would like early/late check-in/out, and we will do our best to make it work! 🕚
--Guests will receive key code & detailed check-in instructions via message on the morning of arrival.
--Michigan City operates on Central Standard Time (CST).

--The primary renter is 25+ with a verified government ID.
--A $500 damage deposit is required. This is returned after checkout once our team confirms the home is in good condition.

After booking, first-time guests are required to sign a standard rental agreement that reflects the house rules and booking details shown on this listing. Information provided is used solely to coordinate maintenance or schedule adjustments during your stay. This information is kept strictly within our team and is never shared externally.
