The most spectacular feature of our studio is the view from every location. One feels like they are totally emersed in the beauty of the sea with total privacy
The studio is equipped with a kitchenette. Mini fridge, and microwave. Coffeemaker and kettle .
This suite is on the ocean bluff and not appropriate for children or pets.

Slice of Heaven

I can’t describe in words the amazing view from this studio. We were mesmerized! The bed was comfortable, there was an abundant supply of towels, pillows, blankets and TP. Even the view from the indoor shower is amazing. The lovely extra touches: a bottle of wine, cookies, box of crackers and meat & cheese were the cherry on top. We will be back, thank you Karen & Barry!

Spectacular home with amazing views

Such a beautiful home. The location is perfect, a short drive to either Mendocino or Fort Bragg. Everything has been thought of for a relaxing get away. A nice card with a bottle of wine and home baked cookies awaited our arrival. Beautifully clean, well appointed, loved the hand made quilts. Hard to put the view into words, what an experience. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Once in a lifetime stay!

This was the prettiest place we’ve ever stayed. The cottage was wonderfully decorated and very comfortable. The views from the patio and picture windows were unbelievable. Beautiful grounds and perfect location. Communication with our hosts was excellent. This place spoils me for any other rental I might ever visit.

Staying here is a gift

When I tried to think of how to describe how we felt after staying here the first word that came to mind was, “grateful.” It’s rare to find places that offer true privacy and majestic, awe-inspiring natural beauty. This space offers both. My partner and I spent hours just watching the waves over the cliff outside because every hour gives you a new view. We made a point to appreciate the space we were in and notes that the view from the room was better than at most restaurants we visited. The patio was serene and peaceful. We had more than everything we needed, and the small touches (a handwritten note and fresh baked cookies) made us feel like we were home. I’ve never enjoyed a vacation rental more than I enjoyed this one. We loved it so much we are planning on returning. Don’t miss an opportunity to stay here.

Serenity now

Waking up to that beautiful view every morning was absolutely dreamy and listening to the waves as we fell asleep each night was exactly what we were longing for! Hosts were very accommodating when I asked if they had a blender we could borrow to make baby food for my grandchild who was staying elsewhere in Mendocino. We will def return to stay at their comfortable and relaxing place.

The description is spot on! 'Cozy hideaway on the edge of the bluff overlooking the ocean' It was absolutely delightful. The view was spectacular. Quiet, private and peaceful. This side of Heaven

The property was sooo much nicer than the pictures give it credit. It is the perfect hideaway to just relax and enjoy the out of this world view. Karen and her husband have thought of everything you could possibly need on vacation. I can’t thank them enough for sharing their litttle slice of heaven!

Beats a 5 Star resort for view, privacy and atmosphere.

The location is right on the Ocean with great close up views, sounds of the water, birds and peace. The room is very spacious and has an enclosed couple of closets, small cooking (no stove) area and both TV and internet. A lot of attention to small things like towels, shower soap/shampoo, and a nice view to the outside from the shower. Owners care and experience show. Very highly recommended. Will return.

Quiet and secluded piece of the ocean

Very comfortable and relaxing stay. Great view of the ocean. Near enough to town that we decided to bring back many meals and enjoy them back at the house. We appreciated the snacks/drinks left by the host. Highlights for me personally were the shower with ocean view and the hummingbirds that were constantly outside the main window.

Three nights, four days really weren't enough. This place is perfect, completely private and comfortable. Incredible views, even if you go during "fogust" . All furniture is very comfortable and there is great water pressure. The views though, oh my goodness!

Pacific coast paradise

Beautiful location on the Pacific coast, literally on the edge of a bluff overlooking a very scenic cove. Clean, comfortable room, nicely landscaped outside area and inside view of the ocean through large windows. All very private and quiet.

Beautiful property, perfect location

We really enjoyed our stay here! The location was perfect for our plans during the day (exploring Mendocino & Fort Bragg, wine tasting, hiking, kayaking, etc.) and so peaceful and beautiful to unwind after the day's activities. We joked that we wouldn't get anything done if we live there because we would just sit and look at the ocean views all the time. The night sky was so wonderous to behold and everything was just perfect. Karen, Barry, and Daisy are also wonderful hosts. Everything was well stocked and we really appreciate the thoughtfulness and care that Karen and Barry put into the property. Will definitely return in the future, thank you!

Spectacular views await you!

We enjoyed our stay at Abalone Arch. The views were breathtaking. The guest suite offered everything that you could want. It was conveniently located between Mendocino and Fort Bragg. We found it to be a sanctuary of peace and relaxation. Our hosts were very thorough and thoughtful in their amenities they offered. We would definitely stay here again. We have already recommended it to our friends and family. Delightful guest suite!

The view of a lifetime- perfect coastal setting

This location, view, setting, accomodations and ease of access could not be any more perfect. Unimaginably better than the photos in the listing depict. This could become an annual stop for my wife and I every visit to our children on the west coast. The owners make it very easy, all is taken care of, everything you need for a relaxing, quiet, beautiful, serene get away, with a bottle of wine, coffee and home made cookies provided. I hesitate to say anymore lest reservations become even harder to come by.

We are long term residents of Mendocino and enjoy traveling the world.
We live on the property in the main house. The guest suite is totally private with your own entrance . The only only thing we share is the front gate and the driveway.
There is 100% privacy inside your suite as well as outside .
We enjoy having guests spend time in our little hideaway!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We not only have a secluded ocean front but we are nestled in-between Russian Gulch State park and Point Cabrillo park that are both less than a mile away and have miles and miles of hiking trails. Both can be reached by walking just outside our gate.
There is also 1909 Lighthouse that has coves and bluffs to explore as well as a lighthouse museum.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We are located less than a mile from the town of Mendocino which has restaurants, museums, shops, theatre and the headlands trails for hiking
Jackson State forest is close with 100 miles of hiking trails.
Big river offers kayaking, paddleboarding, expansive sunny beaches for all to enjoy.
