A romantic guest suite with a private outdoor space for dining ,sunning or reading your favorite book while listening to the waves crashing below.
The most spectacular feature of our studio is the view from every location. One feels like they are totally emersed in the beauty of the sea with total privacy
The studio is equipped with a kitchenette. Mini fridge, and microwave. Coffeemaker and kettle .
This suite is on the ocean bluff and not appropriate for children or pets.

We love to travel off the beaten path and this place is magical! Cozy, rugged, quiet, except for the ocean beating on the rocks, wonderful walking trails and good eats in both nearby towns! we both read a whole novel for the first time in a while - it's that simple and restful. Eagerly plan to return...hosts were great!

Breathtaking view

Gorgeous private space overlooking ocean! Very quiet romantic getaway close to all restaurants and amenities. Perfect little getaway to enjoy wine food reading hiking or just watching and listening to the Ocean! We had an excellent time!!

Absolutely FANTASTIC!

We loved our stay here. The place is immaculate and well appointed. The views and the grounds are beautiful…gardens everywhere. It is even more beautiful than portrayed in website photos. Hosts are wonderful and accommodating.. Can’t say enough about the beauty of this property or the whole Mendocino coast! Can’t wait to come back and would definitely want to stay here again!

Gorgeous stay

The views and sounds of the Pacific outside your doors and windows. Very comfortable bedding, seating. Privacy and location!! Delicious homemade cookies upon arrival along with refrigerated items for breakfast and sandwich making. Probably the most beautiful VRBO on the West Coast!

Spectacular home with amazing views

Such a beautiful home. The location is perfect, a short drive to either Mendocino or Fort Bragg. Everything has been thought of for a relaxing get away. A nice card with a bottle of wine and home baked cookies awaited our arrival. Beautifully clean, well appointed, loved the hand made quilts. Hard to put the view into words, what an experience. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Slice of Heaven

I can’t describe in words the amazing view from this studio. We were mesmerized! The bed was comfortable, there was an abundant supply of towels, pillows, blankets and TP. Even the view from the indoor shower is amazing. The lovely extra touches: a bottle of wine, cookies, box of crackers and meat & cheese were the cherry on top. We will be back, thank you Karen & Barry!

The property was sooo much nicer than the pictures give it credit. It is the perfect hideaway to just relax and enjoy the out of this world view. Serene retreat with stunning views

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this hidden gem we found on vrbo. The view of the ocean, with waves crashing against the rocks, was absolutely breathtaking. The place had everything we needed, and the host even provided delicious treats for us to enjoy. It was private, quiet, and the perfect getaway for us. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil escape. Thank you to our gracious host for a memorable experience!

Most Beautiful Getaway Spot!

This guest suite is located in the most secluded and most beautiful spot next to the ocean. The pictures for this incredible getaway does not give it justice! This year has been a tough year health wise & my husband & I really needed to get away. It was the perfect place to do some mental healing. The view & sound of the ocean was breathtaking. Karen, & Barry, we’re the perfect hosts. They stocked the fridge with goodies & gave us privacy. To Karen & Barry, thank you for providing such a wonderful place to experience. We plan on coming back cause once is not enough!

The view of a lifetime- perfect coastal setting

This location, view, setting, accomodations and ease of access could not be any more perfect. Unimaginably better than the photos in the listing depict. This could become an annual stop for my wife and I every visit to our children on the west coast. The owners make it very easy, all is taken care of, everything you need for a relaxing, quiet, beautiful, serene get away, with a bottle of wine, coffee and home made cookies provided. I hesitate to say anymore lest reservations become even harder to come by.

Fantastic spot with awesome views

Wow! The pictures don't do justice for this beautiful spot. Our last couple of trips were overseas and we decided to stay in U.S. this year with a north CA trip. We picked this spot and planned a week around it with this as our grand finale and boy did it ever exceed our expectations! Can't say enough about the great personal touches and conveniences. The hosts' exploration tips were very helpful as well. Great getaway spot for a couple with nearby charming towns to grab a bite.

One of a kind views!

We stayed a week and our only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. The location couldn't be better. When you enter the property, you are in your own little world. The gardens are spectacular! The views, one of a kind, and the room is perfect! Our host made sure we had everything we needed, shampoo, conditioner, milk for our coffee, robes, house shoes, hand picked flowers, and homemade cookies! So many other "little touches" that made it special, as well. I have stayed in Fort Bragg for over 42 years and this one took the cake! I will definitely be back. Oh yeah, the golden retriever that greets you, loves belly rubs!

SENSATIONAL...BEYOND 5-STARS!

The profile pictures just don't even come close to how spectacular this property truly is when you first arrive. Not to mention, the property owners haven't overlooked one amenity for your stay (local cheese, homemade cookies, beer, wine, coffee, tea, honey, slippers, robes and if you forgot any toiletry...they have it)! This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we will have a hard time EVER replicating our stay not just in CA, but globally. Honestly, this property is serenity and if you are looking to decompress/disconnect and recharge...especially with your partner...this is a must! Wow...all we can sway...wow!

Room was perfect, like a large hotel room with kitchenette. There was an issue with the fridge, but owner fixed it immediately. It was the perfect place to relax and recover. Owner is very sweet and gracious. We enjoyed our stay very much. Be aware, you can see through the outside window into the shower. That maybe uncomfortable for some, but didn’t bother us as there is no one nearby to see.

This was a return visit after many years and everything was as beautiful, restful and amazing as we recalled. Barry and Karen are both wonderful hosts- friendly and responsive as well as very respectful of their guests privacy. We spent eight nights and couldn’t get enough of the incredible views. In fact, other than going for strolls in nearby Russian Gulch State Park and to Fort Bragg for groceries/take out deli lunches and dinners we didn’t venture far from the property. The hideaway is beautifully decorated, spacious, and clean and neat and the kitchen (hidden behind folding doors ) offers everything we needed to prepare/serve our simple meals. It even has the same Port Meirion dishes we have at home. We have already booked it for a return visit next year and can hardly wait. Thank you Barry and Karen

I absolutely loved my time here.

Cozy, peaceful, private. The view is simply breathtaking. Being this close to the water was so healing and restorative for me. The hospitality was amazing, too. Every thoughtful detail made me feel welcome and right at home. I felt as if I were staying at the home of a close friend, not a vacation rental. I hope to return soon.

We are long term residents of Mendocino and enjoy traveling the world.
We live on the property in the main house. The guest suite is totally private with your own entrance . The only only thing we share is the front gate and the driveway.
There is 100% privacy inside your suite as well as outside .
We enjoy having guests spend time in our little hideaway!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We not only have a secluded ocean front but we are nestled in-between Russian Gulch State park and Point Cabrillo park that are both less than a mile away and have miles and miles of hiking trails. Both can be reached by walking just outside our gate.
There is also 1909 Lighthouse that has coves and bluffs to explore as well as a lighthouse museum.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We are located less than a mile from the town of Mendocino which has restaurants, museums, shops, theatre and the headlands trails for hiking
Jackson State forest is close with 100 miles of hiking trails.
Big river offers kayaking, paddleboarding, expansive sunny beaches for all to enjoy.
