Immerge yourself in the tranquility of Fort Valley, known as the "valley within the valley". Backing to the George Washington National Forest, this newly renovated house blends the comfort of modern living with nature, designed to give you a once in a life-time experience. Sleeping up to 10, the house is ideal for family retreat/reunions, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Tucked right in the middle of the valley, its central to many hiking trails, vineyards, ATV trails, the Passage Creek, Elizabeth Furnace, the North Fork and South Fork of Shenandoah River and the Shenandoah National Park.
This is a great house with lots of space about 35 minutes outside of Front Royal. If you want a peaceful home and the quiet of the forest, this is the place for you. We loved our time in Fort Valley.
We had a great reunion trip here with four families. Plenty of space to spread out. Comfortable, with all essentials provided. Excellent communication with the host. Beautiful outdoor space. Would absolutely recommend!
We loved staying at the house for a winter long weekend. We got lucky with snow, and the kids enjoyed sledding down the hill. The house had enough room for us to spread out, but still keep an ear out for the kids. The basement set up was really nice for a kids space. Kitchen was well stocked for making meals. Can only imagine how nice the outside space would be in the warmer months, but everything was cozy inside for a snowy weekend.
Our family decided to spend a couple days together just playing games with the kids and relaxing as adults. This space allowed for that and more. A big living area with kitchen and subsequent other rooms allow us all to be either together or in our separate play and discussion areas. I can certainly recommend the space for doing that. The wraparound deck and fire pit looked attractive but the weather didnât allow us for any outside potential. We did however enjoyed a very nice day inside the house
We have our organization's retreat there. We liked the most--> the open space between the kitchen and living room bec the open communication with Deaf friends. There were extra chairs in dining room which are good for 12-14 people to eat and plenty of bedrooms to sleep. The outside's view is beautiful, too. They provided us kitchen supplies/items that we needed. Overall experiences in staying this house was awesome. The host response quickly on text and we appreciated it.
It is a very nice place to stay. Stocked up with all the supplies needed. We did a staycation with our friends. With the temps so high on 4th of July weekend we didn't end up going anywhere but we enjoyed our stay. The only reason I am taking 2 stars off is because of the temp inside the house. The thermostat was set on such a mode that a/c would shut off every 2 hours and temp inside the house would go up to 80. 2 of the nights were so hot we couldn't sleep. One of the room has fan and light switch connected so we couldn't keeo the fan on in that room . The host was very good at communicating but it didn't solve the problem. Other than this one issue her house is awesome, its got everything you need . Toys for kids , board games for adults, kitchen fully stocked. 1 extra refrigerator in basement and beautiful deck. We couldn't use sofa on either of rhe decks because they are wet and dirty since they weren't covered. All and all if you are going in winter this house is great. Hopefully they can figure out the problem with A/c then it will be great for summer too.
