Kingfisher Cottage. Accessible two bedroom bungalow on a family farm
Peaceful location in the heart of Ryedale yet within easy reach of nearby attractions on the coast or inland. Market towns nearby have a variety of pubs and cafes offering a wide range of delicious food.
We had a lovely stay in kingfisher cottage with our 3 teenagers. The cottage was roomier than expected and cozy. The kitchen had everything needed to self cater. The courtyard had a lovely little waterfall into a pond and was a great place to relax after visiting the local area. It was close to many local attractions and villages and a short drive from the moors. We enjoyed the steam train to Whitby, the village of Gothland with a waterfall walk, axe throwing at the Hilt in York and the James Herriot Museum. Would definitely stay again, the hosts we very responsive to messages and super friendly. Thanks for a great holiday.
Property was exactly as described and easy to find. It was comfortable and for the most part clean. Unfortunately the kitchen area wasn't very clean (crumbs etc) and we had to wash most of the utensils and plates before we used them as they had dried on food on them. The airfryer was full of food remnants, cheese and grease. We appreciate that this was almost certainly due to how the previous guests left the kitchen, but maybe something that needs to be checked prior to the next booking? Beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water, great shower, good wifi. Lovely quiet location and a good base to explore the North York moors, York, and the surrounding area. Helen was very helpful when we had issues with the wifi and also arranging to stay an extra night. The property was an excellent price and we would definitely book again. Have recommended it to friends.
The cottage is rustic and homely with a great shower and plenty of hot water. We felt very close to nature as the courtyard outside has a large pond which attracts lots of birds and the roof space of the opposite section of the enclosed space has loads of nesting swallows.
Lovely warm and cosy cottage in a fantastic location! My daughter also loved the pond in the courtyard and loved checking on the fish every morning and night, added bonus!Hosts we're also friendly and welcoming, and super easy check in. Will definitely be back!
We enjoyed a lovely 3 days at kingfisher cottage. The weather was very good so we had the benefit of being outside quite a lot. The little courtyard area is so peaceful and pretty with just the sounds of water running into a fishpond and the birdsong. Would definitely return
We had a great time at this warm spacious cottage. We Love the beams and the books, games from the cottage collection. We highly recommend this cottage.

It as an enclosed courtyard that is home to so many birds . Helen and Richard were so friendly . They made you feel so welcome .We would definitely recommend and will be returning . Thank you Helen and Richard
It was our first time staying at kingfisher cottage. It wont be our last! It had everything we needed and it was much more spacious than the photos depicted. Very peaceful, quiet and safe. Our 3 children loved playing in the courtyard andour doggo loved it too!
This was a beautiful location in the countryside with access to sit near the river. The space was quaint and clean. The shower had amazing water pressure and was the perfect temperature. The location had everything we needed for a family with small children. The on site laundry facilities were extremely helpful. The host was very kind and available as needed.
A lovely situation. Very good value. Everything that we needed was supplied. The cottage was quiet and pleasantly remote. The swallows were charming. Highly recommended.
This is a farm property, quite in the middle of no where, but it has a lovely large courtyard, in fact the accommodation is comprised from the old animal barns. The courtyard made of old red brick provides endless joy watching the house martins and swallows whizzing about.
Its an interesting area with plenty to do.
