Rustic Family Mountain Top Cabin! 360 degree âmillion dollarâ Black Hills views!
Step back in time while staying at this hilltop property, 7Fr Ranch. See the sunrise and sunset, gaze at the stars and unparalleled mountain views. Hiking, trail riding, exploration all nearby. When making the scenic drive up to the top of the mountain, youâll see whitetail deer and turkey, and escape from the hustle and bustle of modern day life. When you reach the peak at 5,550â, youâll be in awe of the scenic vistas, refreshing air, and isolation. If you want to stay in touch, there is Starlink available.
The view is excellent. The silence is wonderful. The accommodation was perfect for all four of us. If youâre looking for a five star furnishings and cooking wares forget it. Everything works just perfectly. The environment makes everything enjoyable. I would stay here any time I would come back.
The views and the privacy on this mountain top cabin were 5 star. We stayed as a family of four with our dog for 7 days. Town is a short drive down the mountain with shopping and restaurants close by. We visited several sites all within less then 2 hours from the cabin: Deadwood, Custer, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Badlands, Devils Tower, and rented a side by side one day. The Black Hills did not disappoint. I would have rated the cabin a five star had the beds and the couches had been a little more comfy.
This was our first family trip to the Black Hills. Our cabin offered a peaceful & scenic experience! Literally 360° of Amazing views! We even stayed an extra day! Jeff was so nice to talk to, we would definitely stay again!
The location is outstanding. Far enough from town for peace and quiet, close enough for convenience. The cabin is well equipped for any need we had.
The views are absolutely amazing!
We enjoyed our stay immensely. It is definitely A rustic environment. My family and I enjoyed everything about the cabin, with the exception of the bathroom in the bedroom with the twin beds, that one needs a little bit of work. Our host was easy to get a hold of, accommodating and my family and I will definitely be back for another visit.
Great cabin, the bathroom situation was a little weird because it is part of a bedroom with a curtain, but overall worth the price for sure!! Guy who owns the building was super helpful and friendly.
Beautiful cabin provided all basic necessitys we needed. Cabin had a 360 degree mountain views. Host communications were amazing. Would definitely recommend.
The property was at the top of a mountain in Hill City, SD. There is a wonderful view of the Black Hills from this property. Jeff & Lili made it very easy to access and its a fun place for the family to visit.
The views and privacy were above all expectations. This is exactly what I was looking for in my time away. Plenty of space for hiking and I didn't even feel the need to leave to go to all the tourist destinations. The cabin is wonderful and was well stocked. I will book this again for next year!!
Beautiful Mountain Vistas and a rustic experience with a little bit of a thrill ride getting there.
It was very unique and rustic/authentic. Sure... there could have been a few extra amenities (washer, dryer, central or additional bathroom)... but, the views and the unique mountain experience were almost Grizzly Adams-esque. We loved being there!
We really enjoyed our stay there. Lots of room inside and outside. Peaceful and private lot with great views and not too far from things to do. Krull grocery store and Hill City not far. Ranch house worked great for us. Had cozy spaces and bigger spaces to hang out. Cooked inside, grilled outside. The owners communicated well.
If you're looking for a remote peaceful setting with modern conveniences, this is the place for you! The views at this cabin are unmatched; you get a panorama of the Black Elk Peak massif, the Needles and other iconic natural landmarks in the Black Hills. The surrounding landscape is sloping with small meadow breaks and booming with wildflowers and mature pines, small brush and aspen. Definitely would recommend and plan on staying again! Jeffrey and Lili are wonderful hosts!
The location and views are amazing. The only bathroom in one of the bedrooms is LESS than ideal for two couples. You really canât call it a bathroom since only a curtain separates you from the beds. They may say sleeps 6 but only 2 twin beds and one King bed. A bit over priced for what you get.
This was the perfect combination of a very well kept property with good I termed and cell service coupled with an off the beaten path âwildernessâ feel. The driveway is long and steep but easily passable even with a trailer. The views from literally the top of the mountain are stunning to say the least. Nice kitchen with plenty of places to hang out together or separate in the house. Located minutes from Hill City and about 25 miles from Rapid City, itâs easy to get around. Also located near the thousands of miles of Forrest road at ATV trails.
The only thing to be aware of is the bathroom is in the second bedroom and has only a curtain for privacy so make sure you are very comfortable with the people you are staying with.
We look forward to staying here on our next trip to the Black Hills!! We cannot recommend these hosts enough as their communication was the best weâve ever had through Vrbo or other services that are similar.
Thank you for checking out our cabin! My wife and I bought this property while searching the hills for an oasis. Weâve spent many spring, summer, and fall nights here and are so happy whenever we visit (and slightly bummed when we have to leave). We love drinking coffee in the morning in the sun (usually facing southeast) and love to enjoy some cocktails and music in the evenings (facing southwest). We enjoy hiking with our dog, using side by sides to explore, and visiting Hill City, Custer, Spearfish, and Deadwood. There are new businesses in Hill City this year! Lost Cabin Brewery, Pack Mule, etc. So weâll check those out as well. We hope you can come to the Black Hills in 2024!
Itâs closer (~40min) to Rapid City. But far enough away to be at peace by the fireplace and underneath the stars. We enjoy the coupling of old school vibes with some modern amenities (Starlink, Solostove, newly installed bathroom with washer/dryer). We always feel like we jumped into a time warp back to 1970 or so when we stay at Elk Pass.
Property is on top of Elk Pass Ridge, at about 5,500â elevation. The views are incredible and there are very few (if any) comparable properties in the southern hills. It feels very far away, but is only 10 minutes from grocery stores, bars, restaurants.
