Cette ferme historique et charmant est entouré de près d'un acre de jardins. Situé dans le village pittoresque de Lakeside, Michigan au cœur de Port Pays. Moins de 90 minutes en voiture de Chicago. A cinq minutes à pied de la belle Pier Street Beach du lac Michigan et les magasins et marchés d'antiquités de renom.

Long Weekend Getaway

Really enjoyed the cottage. Very comfortable beds and a wonderful front porch for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The owner has a lot of amenities including bikes in the shed that my daughter and her friend loved being able to use and a fun inter tube we took down to the beach!

Loved the house! It’s a charming cottage. Everything as described. Spent the week (3 girlfriends) and the house worked perfectly for us. Wonderful screen porch. Beds and linens were very comfortable. We are familiar with the area and the location is convenient to everything in the area. (There is an adjacent train track so you need to be ready for the train noise a couple of times a day). Cooked at home a lot and loved having the eat in Kitchen as well as dining room.

Adorable cottage in Lakeside

We loved our stay at this adorable cottage in Lakeside. The cottage and grounds are so charming, the kitchen was well equipped and we made good use of the bikes. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice Property, Great Proximity

We stayed four nights with our small dog and used this place as a home base. Everything was as described. This place is rustic, so there are cobwebs, the outside areas are weathered, etc… The house is located near an active train track, which can sometimes be noisy. Neighbors were nice and quiet. The outdoor area was perfect for our dog. The host was very nice and responded quickly to questions.

Great family vacation!

We had a great trip and the cottage was a wonderful location for our family to rest and eat between adventures. The host, Bill, was very helpful and had great communication. Checking in and out was a breeze and we felt right at home with plenty of sleeping space for our family of 6 (with younger kids ages 3-11.)

Great Getaway

This historic cottage was the perfect getaway from the city. My husband and I enjoyed the time away. The cottage was super cozy and it was just nice to relax and read a book on the porch.

Weekend Wedding

We loved staying here for a wedding we had in St Joe!! We went to the water and just really enjoyed the place! Checkin and all that was super easy!! Definitely would come back and recommend!!

Great Holiday Weekend at the Dunes

This cottage was so spacious and peaceful. There is only 1 bathroom, but it is very spacious. The grounds and "hangout"bonus cottage in the back was a great plus. We love this area and its super close to the State Park! Beautiful weather!

Lovely cottage near beautiful nature

This was such a perfect place to stay with our extended family. We had five adults staying (two couples plus a parent), plus two dogs. It was such a comfortable home base for exploring all of the beautiful nature nearby. It had everything we needed to cook and stay in, but also nice dining options nearby. We had so much fun getting to spend time as a family over the holidays, and this was a great place to do it.

A real gem! Spacious inside and out, uniquely landscaped garden/yard including an outdoor screened in building that was huge and a treat to hang out in and take in nature from the indoors. Plenty of restaurants, breweries, nature, lake activities all nearby.

This is an unusual property. The kitchen is the first room you enter, followed by the dining room, then the living room. It's all straight back. The three bedrooms are all on one side. The whole house is one floor. The sq. footage would make it seem small, but the house is quite functional. TV works without any trouble, there is plenty of bedding and the garden area is stunning. Lots of tiny villages around for driving, shopping, and dining. Property manager was very easy to work with. It worked out very well for the four of us.

Exactly what we needed

Our family has a home right around the corner and this was a perfect space to have as extra living space. The home is well stocked and clean. We would definitely stay again and maybe in the summer to enjoy the backyard.

Cozy.

The cottage was very cozy and clean. The location was great. It was close to New Buffalo and the dunes. We were able to tour the wineries and breweries in the area as well. It had all the conveniences of home and felt like a vacation. The best part was I was able to bring my dog!!!!!!

Relaxing in Lakeside

We had a great stay in this wonderful cottage that feels larger than the pictures show. The beds are very comfortable, the decor soothing, incredibly clean and well outfitted with beach chairs and bikes! Bill was great to communicate with and raised the bar compared to the others we have rented from. The back summer cottage reminded us from a scene from Dirty Dancing - it was a great stay and we will return. It was incredibly clean as well.

Perfect Michigan Rental

This is a perfect rental in Harbor Country. The house is a cute cottage with all the amenities of home. Our family enjoyed the eat-in kitchen as well as the screened in porch. The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained with a fire pit and a screened in shed for family fun. The beach is just a short walk away and is also very well maintained. Very relaxing atmosphere

Relaxing and Lovely

My partner and I enjoyed a lovely, restorative stay at the Lakeview cottage! The kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms are well appointed and the porch and garden/yard are perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee in the morning or s'mores at night by the fire pit. The summer cottage was a great touch and so cozy. Ample books to borrow and read during the stay too! The property is a short walk to Pier Beach through a charming neighborhood and is easy to get to all the shops and restaurants off the main road. We felt fully recharged and at peace during our stay and would absolutely book again!

Bookish, breezy haven near the lake

The cottage in Lakeside was absolutely delightful. The decor is artsy and fun, there were stacks of terrific books to explore, and the screen porch and separate summer cottage meant there were lots of breezy corners for reading, games, or conversations. Add to all of this that the yard felt like a botanic garden, and you start to get the idea!

Wonderful week at the Lakeside Cottage

The Lakeside Cottage is cozy, clean and so very comfortable. It was very chilly the week we were here so we weren't able to go to the beach, but there were plenty of activities nearby to keep the whole family engaged and happy. We brought our lab and had a great time taking long walks with her. Bill, the owner, was excellent to communicate with and when the power went out the first night was very responsive and helpful. A great place to stay! Thanks, Bill!

A great summer getaway!

This was the perfect retreat. The cottage itself is in a nice wooded area, yet access to the sunny beach is right down the street. Right when we walked in the door we knew this was going to be a great stay- the decor was inviting, the house was well maintained and the grounds were fun to explore. A great place to relax for a week. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice retreat. We have two small children, and the house was welcoming for them. They especially loved the summer cottage, which was like their very own secret play room.

New favorite in the area!

We were thrilled to find a dog friendly property with close beach access. The house was great-totally as advertised. It was really cute, and nicely appointed. It was very clean. It had a nice homey feel. It had a lot of space-so much so, we could have been a larger group. It was warm enough to enjoy the screened in porch, which an added bonus. We only wish we had more time.

Cute cottage

Very cute cottage. Just wish it was 10 minute walk to true beaches. Closest beach was very, very small and we had to pass a home with a high pitched alarm system always going off. Not loud but audible and not very welcoming. Not much owner, Bill, can do about that! Highly recommend Black Currant Bakehouse in Union Pier! Lakeshore drive is a great road for biking and walking. Lots of big trees and beautiful homes too.

My wife and I are proud parents of three girls, and our family has enjoyed our cottage in Lakeside for many years. We really enjoy the entire local community - it has such charm and character.

You can't beat Southwestern Michigan in the summer, but we have also enjoyed Harbor Country in the late fall and winter - the area has so much to offer.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We only live 33 miles from the property, so in less than 45 minutes we can escape to an entirely different world. The original foundation dates to 1895, and this cottage has so much character and charm we just fell in love with the place.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

One of the previous owners was a landscape architect, so the gardens are special. Our 'summer cottage' offers a great place to have a happy hour or let the kids escape to their 'own' private place. The grounds of our property are beautiful, and there are few better places to be than making s'mores at the fire pit after a great day at the beach.
