Built in 1916, this 2-bedroom Carriage House is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places. Nestled in Iowa's Vander Veer Park Historic District, it is conveniently located just one block from the park, Davenport's Outing Club, St Ambrose University and St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The upstairs residence which sits above the former stable & garage, is part of the E.B. Adler Estate, which also features a 4-bedroom home on the other side of the spacious yard and gardens. Lovingly restored by its new owners, this unique space is walking distance from a grocery store, pharmacy and several of the area's best coffee shops.
Came to Davenport for Bix7 race. The Carriage House was amazing, charming and so cozy. Perfect for our weekend. One of the BEST Properties that we have stayed at. Christopher was excellent to work with and responded to my questions quickly. Would highly recommend to anyone coming to Davenport. And, we will definitely stay again when back in the area.
This was my second 10 day stay at the Carriage House. Just as great at my first stay. This is a great property: convenient central Davenport location, spotless, well maintained with a very responsive host. This will always be my go-to spot when I visit family and friends in Iowa.
Wonderful place to stay, would definitely go again. The price was reasonable, the owners did a great job restoring this carriage house and hosts were very attentive/responsive. If you're looking for a great place in the Quad Cities, this could be the place for you.
Lovely carriage house! Great location. Wonderful host.
Two members of our team stayed in the carriage house while working on a museum project at Rock Island Arsenal. Chris was a wonderful host and the cottage is lovely.
I stayed in the carriage house for my business trip to Davenport. It was comfortable for me, and very nice and quiet. The host is thoughtful and the communication was very easy. Plenty of coffee and tea options in the house. Air conditioning worked well, and the bed was comfortable. I'd stay again!
I have family in-town and have stayed at other VRBOs and hotels in the area, this is by far now my favorite! The attention to details-comfy beds, great shower, beautiful decor-and cleanliness were great. The space even provided the opportunity for a few family members to come over one night for dinner. I will definitely stay here again when I visit the Quad Cities. Location is good for anyone visiting St. Ambrose.
This is a beautifully redone carriage house that is really fun to stay in. The neighborhood can be a little sketchy at night, but is fine during the day. I highly recommend it!
Let me join the chorus of five star reviews for this recently opened Vrbo. I stayed for ten nights, and would absolutely stay here again. In addition to all the amenities of a quality Vrbo(including very responsive hosts who live nearby), the location canât be beat. The furnishings are very comfortable and include some lovely antiques.
This is such a nice property! VERY clean and so well appointed. Everything was available that a guest could possibly need. The owner lives close to the property and was attentive-moreso than we've experienced previously with VRBO stays. I am already looking forward to a return trip. Also, it's close to a lovely city park and numerous coffee shops. Everything this traveller needed!
There were no utensils to use for cooking. I went and bought a couple to use. I did leave one of them. There was limited pans to use. We did enjoy the location. We were able to walk to Vanderveer Park which is very beautiful.
The carriage house was perfect for our family stay in the QCA. It was very clean, and we had everything we needed in the house. It was so nice to have a place for our 6-year-olds to just play and relax after we were out and about all day. This is a very charming place with lots of local history showcased in the books in the house and nearby attractions.
We loved our stay at the carriage house! Chris was a very attentive and flexible host. We are going to stay here anytime we are visiting Davenport. The house was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. The cost is very reasonable and the privacy was perfect for us! We definitely recommend this charming house!
This is my second time staying at the Carriage House and it was as nice as last time. The location is perfect for getting around the Quad Cities. This is our new âhome away from homeâ when we come visit family and friends. Also, check out Main Street CoffeeâŠit is an easy walk or drive and has great coffee/drinks.
We were very happy with this well-appointed carriage house. Our host was friendly, thoughtful and informative and made us feel very welcome. This property is only a block away from the unique Vandevere Park, with it's tropical conservatory and beautiful rose garden, and we felt safe and comfortable walking in this interesting historic homes area. We parked in the driveway, and the house's
great location made exporing other parts of the city easy. We brought bikes along and it was only 4 blocks to a major bike trail. Trails along the Mississippi are also nearby.
The carriage house was spotlessly clean with a fun equestrian decor and lots of considerate touches. Beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet at night. The kitchen had everything we needed. Be aware that there is a flight of steps up to the secnd story front door of the carriage house. We will definitely stay here next time we come to Davenport.
We are passionate about preserving the beautiful historic homes in the area - and also live in the neighborhood. We love sharing these unique spaces with visitors and helping our guests make the most of their stays.
