The Original Marshmellow! Spacious Ocracoke beach house in the quiet Jackson Dunes neighborhood. Marsh views, large front deck, and two screened porches. House was one of the most popular rentals for over 25 years, now selectively rented through VRBO only. Reverse floor plan with large open space on the top floor. Stainless kitchen appliances, gas stove, and the best stocked kitchen you'll find. 65" TV in living room, with smart TVs in all bedrooms as well. Starlink satellite internet for fast, problem-free downloads, streaming, and browsing. Owner converted one bedroom into a well-equipped home gym, featuring plenty of weights, bands, bars, bells, and benches. House also features a 4-person golf cart, provided sheets and towels, Webber grill, Hatteras hammock, outdoor shower, bicycles, helmets, and spacious flat backyard. New driveway, walk-in shower, porch screens. Fish cleaning bench, rods, coolers, and chairs for your beach trips. Property is being conservatively and selectively rented for six people max, no smoking. Three day minimum. Keypad combination provided upon reservation. Thanks!

We all had an amazing time at this beautiful house! Derek was easy to talk to and very helpful. The house was well stocked with anything that we would need. And it was very clean. We will definitely stay at this house again when we come back to Ocracoke

Great place to stay!

Marshmellow is the perfect name for this house. It is located on a street in a quiet neighborhood. It’s a little further out, but the beauty of Ocracoke is that even the further out houses are only a mile or two from town. The house was clean and perfect for a family of four!

Perfect Ocracoke Rental

Wonderful home on our favorite island! Everything, including comfy bedding, top notch kitchen, solitude, marsh views, beach gear, fish cleaning area, bikes, and of course the golf cart made our family’s Ocracoke vacation the best it could be. The host was extremely responsive and helpful. We even had a chance to get our puppies together for visit! Will definitely stay here again!

Vacation paradise

As soon as we entered the house, we felt totally at home. It was super clean, and exceptionally furnished with more than you could imagine. Saying we were more than impressed would be a serious understatement. If you’re considering booking, my best advice is do it before someone else does. I promise you will not be disappointed. The house was great, but the icing on the cake was being able to meet Derek and Virginia (the hosts). Better hosts you will never find.

Wonderful stay! All you need is food! Everything is top notch! Kitchen is fully stocked. Beds are comfortable. Golf cart is a plus. Close to everything you want to do in the area.

Pleasant stay for wedding

This property was great! It was a great location for us and was very clean upon arrival. Nicely equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen as well as sheets and towels. The use of the golf cart was awesome!! Communication with the boat was easy and he responded quickly. The information book provided by the host was also helpful. Great place that we would definitely rent again!

We loved Marshmallow

The house was amazing!! Derek makes sure you have everything you need and more! We loved the quiet neighborhood! My kids rode bikes around Jackson Circle almost everyday and the golf cart was a plus!! We would definitely stay at Marshmallow again!

Best long weekend getaway!

House was tucked into a quiet spot just as described and had everything we could need for a relaxing weekend. Screened porches were perfect for morning coffee. And we made good use of the golf cart. Derek was very quick to respond to all communication. Hope to return soon.

Perfect getaway!

Marshmallow is a hidden gem that we plan on visiting again in the future. Derek, the owner, made us feel welcomed and at home. Great kitchen, well-stocked, enjoyable when cooking! Comfy beds, linens, and towels - great quality. Loved our rides in the golf cart with our dog, Boomer! ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

Perfect!

Have visited Ocracoke several times - this was my favorite rental! Exactly as described. Beds/linens comfy - well appointed kitchen - spent alot of time in the hammock on the porch! Golf cart was a great bonus! Derek was very responsive. Would not hesitate to stay in the future!

Anniversary Day

Beautiful home. We unfortunately were there when the tropical storm hit. The screened in porch was perfect for watching the rain. Loved being in the tree tops watching all types of birds. We had one afternoon to go to SmacNallys. Ran into our old friends Ferris and Chrissy. Great to see them and catch up on Island news. Hope to stay again. Andrea

We love marshmallow

Unless you have your own plane when you visit ocracoke you want to stay for a while! (It’s my nice way of saying it’s hard to get to) so we were able to spend 5 nights and spread out in this terrific house. The kitchen was spotless and so well equipped (I’d never in a million years use all the kitchen stuff) porches were picturesque. We went everywhere on the golf cart! So great. My husband was actually comfortable in the bed!! Phew!

Great fall weekend!

This is an amazing home to stay in. Very clean and exactly as described. The host was very responsive to any questions we had leading up to our stay and while we were there. Home has all amenities a family would need which helped immensely when packing for the trip (crock pot.. dog crate.. air compressor for off road trucks.. these are underrated major benefits). I was also able to work from the beautiful office while having perfect internet connection via the provided Starlink wifi. This is a great home to stay at for 4 adults and I'd recommend it to everyone.

Great house!

Marshmellow is a lovely place! It was absolutely spotless when we arrived. The house has a fully stocked kitchen, with plenty of quality pots & pans, utensils etc. Everything in the house is high quality, oversized chair, leather couch, mattresses, bedding, and oriental rugs. The attention to detail is outstanding. Pure comfort! Derek is a thoughtful host and communication with him is excellent. My service dog loved the big backyard. Derek’s dog even shared his bed and his toys with us. I will definitely stay here again!

Marshmallow

We loved the location of the property. It is in a very quiet area on the island and Derek has thought of everything one could possibly need. We felt like the house was bigger than it appeared in the listing. Having the golf cart at the house was huge and saved us a few hundred dollars by not having to rent one. Derek was great to work with. My truck had to get towed off the island but he sent someone to the house to try to assist to fix the problem. We’ve really couldn’t have asked for a better host or house.
