Blü Haus, Nordic Bohemian Cabin Retreat w/ sauna

Welcome to Blü Haus, our nordic mountain retreat! Our beautiful home is located halfway up Kingsbury Grade, ~5 minutes from both the Nevada and California Heavenly lift and gondola. We are nestled at the end of a quiet dead end street with the National Forest almost completely surrounding us, steps away from the Tahoe Rim Trail.

We've designed every inch of this house to be inspiring to creatives, chefs, entrepreneurs, and anyone who is looking for a mindset shift and refresh.
The space
Our home features 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and 1800 square feet. We can comfortably fit 12 adult guests + 1 kid guest (twin bed) and have extra bedding for young kiddos. We are not dog friendly at this time.

From our custom built, newly renovated chef’s kitchen with a hydroponic herb and lettuce garden at your disposal, to handbuilt Finnish wood sauna, to our environmentally friendly and toxin free amenities, you will find it is truly hard to leave the house! We ended up needing to rent out our home to move closer to family, but this was our home first, and we want to invite you into a true “home” experience. We believe that is what vacation rentals should be. We’ve picked out what we love - from knives to cookbooks to art and some of our favorite spices, and we think you’ll love it too.

We have built the common area to be open concept with 2 dining spaces (a Moroccan mezze and a family style dining room table that seats 10) and bar seating at the kitchen island. This makes it ideal for multiple families and groups to spend time together! With black quartz countertops, limewash walls and a bohemian design, this space is designed to be both inspiring and unique to come home to after a long day in the outdoors with your loved ones.

Our master bedroom was designed to give you a true Nordic experience, with black limewash walls, minimalist design, and all the comforts you need. It also has a fold down desk, 2 closets, white noise machin and blackout curtains.

We designed the upstairs loft to be an ideal kids hangout (or kids at heart). With 3 queen beds, a projector and projector screen, foosball, and a lot of space, this is a great place for kids to hang together. We also have individual black out, noise muffling curtains for each bed so each bed has privacy and you have a restful night sleep. With 2 giant beanbag chairs and a foosball table, it's a great spot to get the family or crew together to watch a movie!

Our other upstairs room is perfect for up to 3 people with the second bed a twin ideally for a kid. It has blackout curtains, a white noise machine, a sit stand desk with a treadmill walking option, and plenty of space.

Our basement bedroom also doubles as a second movie room, with it's own projector and screen and private half bathroom. It has shower access in the upstairs hall bathroom, and a fun northern lights projector too. :)

- 2 car garage with house access - no need to step outside on the cold days! The garage is also safe for ski/toys storage. We have space for up to 4 cars with 2 in the garage, 2 outside of the garage.
