You will have access to the entire 1500 sq foot miners cabin and front south facing deck, grill and fire pit. Convenient off street parking for 2 vehicles directly in front of the cabin.

The miners cabin is a stand alone structure. There is an enclosed breezeway at the rear of the property connecting the miners cabin to the main home. This enclosed area allows passage between the two houses during the winter months. The enclosed area is locked off on both ends giving both houses lots of privacy.

We spend our time split between Rico and Salt Lake City. In the summer we are frequently in Rico fixing up our home next door. We like to give our guest space and privacy, but we are available if you need anything.

We would love to give you suggestions for hikes, hot springs, dining, and other activities in the San Juan National Forest.

This is a self check in property. You will be provided a unique access code to enter the property. Yale Smart lock on the door.

Rico is a true victorian small mining town in the San Juan National Forest nearly 9000 ft above sea level. It’s beautiful and quiet yet only 25 miles from Mountian Village/Telluride.

We are located on the north west corner of Mantz and Commercial street, directly across from the historic courthouse. We are next door to Silver Creek Barbecue, and half a block from The Enterprise Bar and Grill, one of Colorados oldest bars.

The Delores River runs through town just a couple blocks from our door, giving you access to some of the best fly fishing in Colorado.

Bike, hike, fish and more right outside your door!

This property is just off the Main Street making it easy to get here year round.

Rico is a high Mountian town. We are located 8827 feet above sea level. In the winter snow storms can move in quickly.

4 wheel/All-Wheel drive vehicle is strongly recommended when visiting during the winter months from November to April.

Just so you know, while we do our best to keep the path to the outdoor sauna clear, however you may need to remove some snow to access it, especially between storms.

We hold a short-term rental permit with the Town of Rico.

In order to keep our permit in good standing guests must park off the street. The off-street parking for this cabin is located directly in front of the house. See your check-in message for more parking details. If you are planning on arriving in more than two vehicles, please reach out, and we will be happy to accommodate.

You have exclusive access to the south-facing front deck/porch area in front of the cabin, Weber grill, and nearby fire pit.

We are in the San Juan National Forest and the Fire pit will be closed during fire restrictions implemented by the park service.

Quiet hours are after 11:00 PM, please be respectful of our neighbors` right to enjoy peace, quiet, and dark skies in the mountains.

No smoking inside the house.

We have a no-impact pet policy since our pet fee is so affordable. The pet fee doesn’t include pet hair removal. No impact means you will be pet hair aware and when you depart the pet hair is not left behind. Please keep the pets off of furniture and beds. Pets cannot be left in the cabin alone uncrated. We provide a Dyson pet hair vacuum and lint rollers to help stay on top of your pet hair. You are responsible for any damage caused by your pet.

The pet fee includes one pet. We will allow a second pet into the cabin with a second pet cleaning fee. If you are bringing two pets, please send us a message and we will help with the alteration.

No house packing, please. We are on a septic system so occupancy counts are enforced. Please disclose all pets and guests. Bringing undisclosed pets/guests into the cabin will result in a $100 fee per pet/guest and additional cleaning costs may apply.

If you have a special request or need help modifying your reservation, just reach out, we will be happy to help.

There is a late checkout fine, a minimum of $100 if you occupy the property past 11 a.m. without permission. Our housekeepers frequently operate on a tight schedule between guests.

While we do our best to keep the path to the sauna clear, you may need to remove some snow to access it, especially between storms.
