Some problems to consider before booking...
I hate to leave a poor review, but I feel compelled to do so. I stay in many vacation properties every year, and this is the first that I have a gripe about.
I have noticed the experience between a Corporate owned property is different from one that is individually owned. Some of the corporate properties are only concerned with the bottom line, whereas individual owners seem to take their time to consider their guests and make for a special time.
This property is owned by a group that I believe has many theme properties, this is a newer property that has a few bugs that need to be worked, out but I was met with much resistance and certainly not a lot of hospitality.
The main gripe is with the pool, it's a $75 charge per day to heat the pool, it's listed on the site, I understood that. I had to write a few emails and send a few follow-ups to make sure this was communicated.
When we got to the property we noticed that the "vacuum cleaner" on the pool was not connected and just floating in the pool, also for two of the days we were there the pool filter or pump never came on. We wondered how could the pool be heated, with water was coming into the pool and was this vacuum thing supposed to be floating around.
I left messages about this, I was told someone would come by or I can wait for the pool guy who would come in a few days. The pool wasn't freezing, but certainly not comfortable and everyone who tested the waters thought it was too cold.
Finally, someone came by to check on the pool, after I and agreed it was probably because the vacuum was disconnected, he figured it would turn on thereafter, and it did. The pool got much warmer but it shut off shortly after the vacuum again became disconnected. This back-and-forth, messaging when I'm supposed to be on vacation not troubleshooting a pool issue, we re-attached the vacuum. The pool was warm for about a day, and everyone enjoyed one day of swimming, but before you know it became detached again. Why does this big thing have to be in the pool anyway, it's a small pull and takes up a lot of room.
I emailed asking for a refund of the heating, at least all but one day. I was told "the investors of the property do not agree" and the pool was adequately heated. No communication, no apology, no let us try to make it right, just pay for it and be glad you can stay in our place.
