Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Close to state snowmobile trails. The unit itself is finished with an up north feel and features a log bed, hardwood floors upstairs and everything you need for meal preparation. There are games, DVDs and Wi-Fi for entertainment.
We were there for a quick overnight stay and it exceeded our expectations. Lovely property with a well cared for space, with everything well thought out and planned. Excellent and quick communication from Penney. Would definitely plan another stay here.
We needed a weekend planning retreat and this was perfect. It was well equipped in the small kitchen, clean and plenty of space. We look forward to coming during warmer weather to enjoy the fire pit and trails through the woods.
My husband and I went here for a much-needed weekend getaway...and the Barndominium provided! This quant apartment is about 1/4 of a metal shed that is split into 2 levels: kitchen/dinette and bathroom on the 1st floor and bedroom with TV and seating upstairs. The unit was very clean and ready to go when we arrived. There is a supplied induction cooktop for cooking with a single pot/pan, small but sufficient fridge with small freezer, several plates and flatware, and a fairly tiny (but functional) sink to wash up (be ready to do several rounds if you cooked a lot). The acreage is fairly large with several walking trails, but the mosquitos were horrendous so we didn't utilize them much (go in the early spring or fall...it'll be better!). There are a few security cameras on the premises which was nice for a bit of security...though I doubt you'd need it given the location...but understand the need! A charcoal grill, firepit, and axe throwing area are ready to use and wood for fire is also available! Penney and Cary are fantastic with communication and super friendly! We drove up with our EV and were able to use the 110V outlet on the side of the building to top off. There is also a 220V 3-prong twist-lock outlet if you have the right adapter. I think the only possible "negative" (and that's a stretch) is that you're only about .75 miles from I-35 so you can definitely hear road noise, but it was *never* loud. We will definitely be visiting again! Thanks for being awesome hosts!
My son was attending a two day course nearby and I needed some space to set up an âofficeâ and work. The host even allowed me to check in early, which was really helpful! Nice quiet location. Unit was clean and just as described. Local restaurants recommended were great! Nice area of MN that we hadnât visited before!
