This is a great cottage for a large group. It is like having two separate wings. This lets us put kids down for naps in a completely quiet space. The owner responds quickly to questions and makes sure the issues are resolved. Large outdoor area as well. Very quiet neighborhood. And of course the lake is spectacular.
We really enjoyed our 7-day stay. The Stanton home was perfect for us and North Lake Leelanau is heaven for any vacationers. We hope to come back again!
We had a fabulous week in this beautiful house. It's much bigger than the pictures show. The bunk rooms are in a separate wing with the pool table room so we adults actually had some quiet time. The kitchen is small but we survived and helped the local economy by eating out a lot. Do wish it wasn't a double bed. We moved one of the bunk mattresses to the floor to accommodate an adult. The decks and views are just beautiful. There are 3 full bathrooms which is not clear in the listing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend getaway at this lovely, spacious, north woods home. Gorgeous views of the lake with plenty of room for 3 couples to spend time together and spread out away from each other when desired.
We always love staying at this property. We love the location and space it offers. We have young kids so the bunk beds work great. Thanks for having us!
Our family has been vacationing in the Lake Leelanau area for over
25 years over the Labor Day weekend. We have stayed in this home
twice and enjoyed the spacious house, the deck and waterfront are
fantastic, and the location is very convenient . We will book again!
Wonderful family property on the most beautiful lake!
The house was perfectly equipped with everything you could need- and the view was amazing all day everyday. Thank you for sharing this piece of heaven!
The sprawling nature of this lake house allows for a family to be very comfortable. Outdoor living accommodates a family, as well, with large decks and grassy areas. Well stocked and quiet. We had a couple questions for the owner and everything was taken care of promptly.
We were overjoyed the minute we walked into this gorgeous home. The views are breathtaking. Everything that we could have possibly needed was provided. Our three kids and four adults all had a wonderful week.
This home was very clean compared to other homes that we have rented. We had 4 adults and 5 young kids and the bunk beds were great for the kids and the one floor was great for getting around easily. The dock was close and good railings on the outdoor stairs to get up and down. The house is adorable and we will be back. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.
Beautiful old family cottage with gorgeous views of Lake Leelanau. Cottage is filled with family items and feels very homey, but needs some updates. I had understood there were two queen beds, but actually only one queen and one full-sized bed (plus the 8 twins/bunk beds). Kitchen very well stocked with dishes and pots and pans. We had plenty of room to spread out, loved the upper and lower decks for enjoying the sunsets.
Loved the home layout and spectacular view from the dining area and deck. Easy checkin and excellent communication with the host. Home is better than the pictures show. Well-equipped kitchen, 2 grills, 3 kayaks. Special touches like lights/electric sockets for each bunk bed. Great pool table. Host warned us about swimmerâs itch this year and one of us got it. Home has a casual, vintage charm. Minor flaw that didnât affect our stay: some windows donât work. We loved it and hope to return!
The house was perfect for the dynamic of our group of multiple families and kids. The area and house are the quintessential Leelanau experience.
Biking into Leland or Lake Leelanau is an easy to moderate ride. I'm just guessing, but there are at least a dozen wineries within 15 minutes drive.
The pictures of the inside do not do justice for how much space there is in the house. The house is well built and exterior is well cared for. We loved it and plan to come back in 2025.
Our family had a fantastic week at the lake house. We hiked, swam, kayaked and enjoyed this beautiful home. The area has lots of enjoyable activities. So much to do and so much to see, a wonderful vacation land!
Nice get away from the everyday hustle and bustle of a big city. Clean home on the water with lots of space ,and everything you need to stay for a week or beyond. We loved that there were plenty of pot, pans and cooking/grilling utensils. The grill really came in handy. If you like to fish, there are plenty of places to fish nearby including the dock at their home.
We loved staying here over LDW! Great for large groups or multiple families. Very pet and family friendly. Incredible location right on Lake Leelanau- turquoise water right outside with excellent lake access (beach and docks). We loved the entertaining spaces outside- multiple decks, bonfire pit. The sunsets from the house were so great! The house is spacious with plenty of room inside for our group- two living spaces, the guys loved the pool table. Very clean and well appointed with everything we needed. The location was perfect- close to Leeland and plenty of up north wineries. The house was very private and secluded from neighbors and set back from the main road. This part of the lake is gorgeous, clear water and sandy bottom. The property owner was very responsive to all our questions and made the process very easy. We will be back again!
Our family has been in Northern Michigan since the 1800's. We have a family run cherry farm in Lake Leelanau and even though I live in Northern California, I try to spend as much time as I can every summer and fall in Leelanau. Our parents loved this place and this house, and a lot of family history still lives there. Although our parents each left us during the COVID 19 pandemic and are buried in the cemetery across the lake.
This property was purchased by my grandfather many years before I was born. He and my father built a large log cabin here in the 50's as well as the boat house, pier and marina. That original cabin was replaced in the early 80's with a larger, architect designed family home. The view never changes. It is as gorgeous as ever.
Here are some of the things i really appreciate about Lake Leelanau and the Lake House in particular: warm, sunny days, balmy nights, occasional dramatic thunder storms, incredible sunsets, hardly any boat traffic on the lake (quiet), kayaking across the lake to Carp River and Leland, the amazing beach at Van's on Lake Michigan, sidewalk sales in August, great food at the Riverside Inn, golfing at Leland Country Club (which is open to the public in fall.) Wineries popping up everywhere. Lots to do and see nearby.
