The ROOST is located 1 block east of 2nd St SE which runs through the heart of downtown Ortonville. Conveniently located only blocks from the grocery store, bar and grill, and the Ortonville boat ramp and cleaning station. This location is a full service home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. This home can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests. There are 5 twin beds, 1 queen bed and 1 twin over full bunk bed. We have a 55" Roku TV and offer free wifi. There is off the street parking, an outdoor outlet and a fish/game cleaning station/shed in the backyard. We ask that you take your fish/game scraps with you for disposal. There is also a great view of downtown Ortonville and Big Stone Lake from the back yard where you can enjoy company around the firepit.
Hello, my friends and I had a gig near this area and needed a place to stay for a night. This house was perfect for us! Everything was very clean and the host was on top of communication. I would reccomend this house!
My group recently stayed for an ice fishing trip and we had the best experience. The check in was one of the best Iâve had. House was clean and more spacious than I thought when booking. We thought we forgot a bag and the host was very responsive and helpful. Thankfully it was just tucked in a fish houseâŠ. Will be back here for sure!
The house is in a great location, one block from main street in Ortonville. House is perfect for a hunting and fishing weekend. House was clean, plenty of beds and the kitchen has everything you need cook your own meals. We will stay again.
The home has gone through a very low-budget renovation. The accoutrements (i.e., EVERYTHING inside the house) was either the cheapest stuff Walmart sells or likely junk found in yard sales. The AC downstairs worked but the portable AC upstairs barely worked, was only in one room, and was so loud it was crazy (you couldn't sleep in that room). Tons of delayed maintenance like the smoke alarm with no batteries in (the battery door just hanging open with no battery), slow shower drain (stand in a ankle deep water while showering), the list goes on. The electronic door locked didn't work - it took more than an hour to get a respose from the owner. I wouldn't treat tenants like this - an unfortunate experience.
Parked in the mud. Class V needed. First step coated in ice. Gutter needed. Scented laundry detergent drove allergies crazy. Iâm pretty sure the furnace filter needed to be changed. My friend also had some sinus issues. Everything else was just fine. I would open all the windows and air the place out next time.
House could get more stars if the following were fixed
These were the deficits we encountered:1.Instructions for house entry were wrong 2.The microwave was very poor at heating3.The dining table only has three chairs 4.One upstairs bedroom blind had many missing slats - no privacy5.The shower spray downstairs was like needles and could not be adjusted6.There were no mattress pads on the beds7. The upstairs toilet had no toilet paper roller
I was disappointed to learn only one bedroom was on the main floor, but it was a large one and we were able to get the grandkids in there with us in there pack-n-play and cot.
It was a great place, easy to find, where we could relax after a long day outside.
It is a small house that can actually sleep quite a crew. It was a perfect home base for my husband and our hunting dog for a few days. Lots of towels, kitchen is well stocked and we liked the location. Thank you!
My son and I stayed here for a fishing tournament. House was very clean and very close to downtown Ortonville. Owner was very easy to work with. Highly recommend!
