Lakeside cottage, water access + pet friendly with additional fee

Come experience one of the few pristine sandy beaches on Rayburn via a short 3 minute walk down to the water. (Neighborhood access) Enjoy morning coffee or evening wine on the generous sun deck among the trees. Our kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals along with complementary coffee. Outdoor grilling on the deck and a full washer/dryer are onsite. Several boat ramps and options to dine in are within a short drive. At the foot of our gated neighborhood, you can enjoy beautiful trails for hiking within Ebenezer Park. Towels and linens are provided along with basic pantry items such as cooking spices, oils, etc. The loft of the home provides ample games and activities for a rainy day. Some of the nation’s best fishing that Sam Rayburn Reservoir has to offer can be had right off the rock cliff point down by the water.

- WiFi is accessible via hotspot provided (no cable, you can stream services like Netflix, etc.).

-The water level of the lake will vary. Our swimming hole is clean and clear of grass/trees/debris but the sandy beach may not be as deep as shown at any given time. In the event that the water levels are extremely high, Ebenezer park is a short drive (or walk) for day pass access to their well maintained swim beach (April 1- Labor Day).

- Boats can be rented from Powell Park Marina. Umphrey Pavilion is the closest Public boat ramp. (6 miles)

- Max 3 Vehicles or 2 + watercraft trailer - there is limited parking. No cover.

- NO Atvs/Utvs/Dirt Bikes/Golf carts both in the neighborhood or on the trails. Trails are Army Corp of Engineer controlled and you will be ticketed.

- Please be advised that this rental is in the thick of the piney woods of East Texas. By nature, you understand that insects of many species are incredibly common here such as ticks, chiggers, mosquitoes, fire ants, etc. We do our best to eradicate/control our general area by use of residential pesticides but we cannot guarantee anything due to the nature of the natural habitat. We advise you bring insect repellent if you wish to explore the trails nearby.

Everything was decent. It wasn’t very close to the water but not super far. Property is cramped / close to neighbors. Their dogs pooped in the yard and made us pay a pet fee because we did have someone visit with a dog (they picked up after them but we can’t prove it). Take before & after photos and you’ll be okay. It’s expensive for what it is (a large barn shed with finished interior deck) but that’s pretty common these days. It is at least in a gated area. Lights on deck aren’t plugged in (no power close by). No fire pit, but there is a well used Webber grill that works okay. They are pet friendly but make sure you’re app or browser doesn’t hide the option from you because this host be sure to send a second bill.

We have nothing but the utmost respect for our first timers and loyal repeat guests who understand the very simple pet policy and rules that we have in place, however this guest is choosing to leave a retaliatory review after dialogue regarding having not disclosed the pet that they brought to the home and refused to pay the pet fee. Despite what this guest has claimed, the fee is transparent in both and rules and rental agreement. The guest later admitted to seeing the fee and choosing not to disclose because of the amount (while simultaneously having booked a second weekend, 19 days later) of which we could no longer verify honesty and disclosure. Not only did we allow this guest to generously check out late at no additional expense, this guest (just like every other guest) knows ahead of time that our quaint little cabin they are renting is NOT glorified new construction but rather a cute, small, niche cabin built in the 60s and with that comes certain modern finishes that are simply not available. The porch lights are fixed fixtures with a switch. This guest is referring to decorative bistro lights that can simply be plugged in. The house is not advertised to be on the water and therefor proximity is relative. There is no fire pit offered and therefore not advertised. Dishonesty around a house rule/policy is a matter of accountability and we appreciate your understanding. We love our guests and their furry friends and will continue to host in a manner that allows us to provide the best service to everyone we encounter.

Cute, comfy cabin in a cozy gated neighborhood. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Coffee on the deck in the mornings was a treat. Hike down to the beach was a little steep, but the white sand was worth it. The lake is beautiful. Easy access to hiking trails.
