The home was perfect for our group. We used as base camp for a long h weekend hiking. The kitchen was well stocked, we enjoyed the large dining table for breakfast in the morning and games in the evening. The living room was comfortable with ample seating. Everyone reported the beds were comfortable. Rebecca was very responsive, offered ideas on local dining. We would definitely rent again!
Great place in great location! So spacious and well-equipped. Super handy that the light switches were labeled: I havenât seen that elsewhere and itâs a great idea.
Great place, ample room, excellent location to activities. Only thing is that 2 years ago we stayed here and reported that the ice maker did not work and had to buy bags - the freezer ice maker still does not work.... Other than that the place is perfect....
Beautiful house. Front and back porches were great for hanging out with the family. Kitchen is well stocked with supplies- pots, pans, bowls, dinner wear. The location is great- walkable to all things a vacation needs including a beach.
We enjoyed our stay at the house. It was clean and the downstairs living space was very nice. The new front porch was great. Great view of the sunset sky and free music one night. Owner could make clear that 4 out of 5 bedrooms were upstairs. And that going through the 5th "bedroom" was how to get to the only upstairs bathroom. Some repair could be done to the back entryway. The railing was loose and some of us needed the railing to climb the two steps. For me and my arthritic knees a railing on both sides of the stairs to the second floor would be helpful but that wouldn't bother a more fit person. All in all a nice place to stay and the beds were VERY comfortable.
Just one little glitch...but was reassured by host. Place is very clean and the kitchen is very well stocked. We rolled up area rugs in kitchen and bathroom...we are all older and avoiding slip/trip accidents
The house had plenty of space for our group. As mentioned in another review, if you are tall, you need to watch your head in the upstairs bathroom and bedrooms but not really too much of an issue. The house was convenient to the restaurants in Washburn and a short drive to Bayfield. We really enjoyed our trip!
We thought the house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed for cooking and eating. Had plenty of towels. We also liked that we were in walking distance of Lake Superior, the farmers market and music in the park, and a beach.
Broken dining room chairs (one collapsed under a guest and then we identified others that were close to breaking), no hot tub as advertised, dishwasher was broken the whole time, despite being told it would be fixed the day after we arrived.
Thise was a great place to stay, very quiet. Walking distant to a couple good restaurants. We liked the off-street parking. And most of all the house was very roomy and comfortable.
The location of the house is just a block from downtown Washburn & in a nice neighborhood. We felt safe & comfortable during early morning walks and to a restaurant after dark. There are signs to take off shoes in the mudroom before entering the kitchen. We hope all guests comply as it's a nice 'rule' for helping keep the house clean. No pets & no smoking are part of the reason we chose this house.
The kitchen & refrigerator were clean. Always a plus when you plan to bring & make your own food. There are basic dishes/silverware/cooking pans.Bring your own baking dishes & crock pot if you'll need them.
Plenty of beds for a large group. We only used 3 of the 5 bedrooms. Spacious gathering space
It's an old home with angled ceilings in the upstairs where 4 of the 5 bedrooms are.It can be off-putting for taller guests, as all of the beds are partially under angled roof. The peaked roof makes the bathroom a little tight too.
Heat rises...so the upstairs was considerably warmer. The thermostat is accessible, so we turned the air conditioning to a cooler temp and shut off some of the main level air vents to help 'push' more air upstairs.
There were not enough washcloths for 5 people for 3 nights/4 days. There is a washer & dryer in the main level bathroom so you could do laundry. We didn't ask the owner for more as we always bring some of our own towels, etc. just in case. Suggest bringing your own quality toilet paper, tissue & paper towels. A 'check-out' list would be helpful.
