Cozy home 13 minutes from Killington- child & dog friendly
Updated 2 bedroom home in Mendon, VT. Convenient location as it is six minutes from Pico, ten minutes from Rutland, and thirteen minutes to Killington.
I spent years trying to find child & dog-friendly places to stay and be able go to the mountains to ski/snowboard. Now Iâm sharing my child and dog-friendly place with others so they can vacation with their beloved dogs and children. (While I like cats, my husband is deathly allergic so we cannot have them in the home.)
The house has everything you'd need for a comfortable mountain holiday, including dog bowls if you forgot yours and toys for your children to play with in case you can't pack any. If your dog is destructive, slobbers, or sheds, we ask that you crate the dog when you leave the home to keep them off the furniture. Please, do not let your pets on the couch.
We also recommend snow tires, or 4-wheel drive as there is a small hill to drive up to get to the house. Finally, be careful as it is on the main highway.
Great place to stay! Located between Rutland and Killington which allowed us easy access to more restaurant options. Great piece of property for the doggies to stretch their legs too. :) The house was the perfect amount of space and had everything we needed.
We had a great time staying here and skiing at Killington. Beds were comfortable, house had everything we needed, good location. I would definitely recommend it!
We enjoyed our time! This was a great location to Killington and Pico. It snowed overnight when we were there and we woke up to the driveway already being plowed!
The house was perfect for the four of us and our dog. Close to Killington (10 mins) skiing which is what we were looking for. House was well furnished. Donât be concerned about being right on Route 4, the noise level was not bothersome. Owner was very responsive to all messages. Highly recommend and we look forward to staying here again.
Cute, cozy, pet-friendly VT home with everything you need to relax after a day of skiing at Killington. Homeowner was friendly, prompt and easy and work with. Quick 10 minute drive to Killington. Would stay again!
This home is great for a small family or a small group of friends. The location is fantastic as it is super close to Killington/Pico and also to Rutland. I believe that with some fine tuning to the stay, and perhaps adding some extra cleaning measures, the place will transform from a good to great stay!
Barely 15 mins to Killington and 5 to Pico. A great skiing pied-a-terre. Everyone slept well and kitchen is well stocked for cooking. No fills but reasonable price for peak season vacation week.
The place is nice and cozy. The heat was a little tough to dial in, but once we got it, it worked great. It was a very quick drive to Killington so the proximity was great. The road the house is on is a little busy and can be loud depending on what is driving on the road. All in all we had a great time.
This is my second time staying for a four-day ski trip to Killington. Perfect location to Killington. About 10 minutes away. House is very clean. Has everything you need. Host is awesome. Very communicative. Very affordable considering the area and she lete you bring your dogs which is just the best
Thank you!
Place is very clean, host easy to get a hold of. We did have to run out for Toilet paper and garbage bags but all else was good. The yard had just been mowed so we did get some grass that sucked to our feet on the inside, but we tried to keep it as we would keep our own house
Unfortunately due to a miscommunication with the cleaner, the place was not clean when we arrived. The owner did respond to our message immediately and helped us access clean sheets and cleaning supplies. She also provided a discount. Otherwise the house and location were as expected.
We are a skiing and snowboarding family that have finally settled on Pico/Killington as our home mountain. My husband and I have visited: - Colorado (Breckinridge, Vail, A-Basin) - New Zealand (Treblecone, Remarkables, Coronado) - Chile (La Parva, Valle Nevado, Ski Portillo, Ski Arpa) - Wyoming (Jackson Hole) - Utah (Solitude and Brighton) - Vermont (Jay Peak, Mount Snow, Stratton, Sugarbush) - Maine (Sugarloaf) - New York (Windham)
This property is great if you have children and/or dogs that you'd like to bring with you on your mountain holiday. I was tired of always having to pack so much stuff just to go away for the weekend but here, we have toys for your kids to play with! We also have our children's high chair for you if you need so let us know ahead of time if you'll need that for your stay. The house is on a busy road so we ask that you leash your dog outside at all times (we leash ours.) But if you know your dog will chew on furniture, slobber frequently, shed often, we ask that you bring a crate for your animal when you leave the house. We do not want them sleeping on the beds or the couch as it is difficult to clean properly for future guests.
The location is convenient, especially if you're a New Yorker like myself. You would pass this house on your way up to the mountain and you'd pass it on your way home.
